Liverpool XI vs. Derby: Klopp confirms big change; £87m-trio out? Surprise start for 'unbelievable' youngster

Liverpool face their 6th away game of the season tonight against Championship strugglers Derby County, a Jurgen Klopp is expected to make several changes.

Pre-match news:

* Klopp on Karius: Yes [he will start] if nothing happens".

* Klopp on Can: "He’s available and now he can collect match time. How much, if he starts or not - no decision until now".

* Klopp on Ings: "Danny is working hard and good, but...we have a lot of strikers. He is close".

* Klopp on Firmino: "Roberto is in training...so he is in [for Derby]”.

* Klopp on Derby: "They have not scored that many goals but they created a lot of chances and some of them were really unlucky. [They have] good quality and a very experienced manager.”

In my view, this game is a perfect opportunity for personnel changes, with one exception: there should be minimal disruption to the defensive unit.

It's vital that the defence - particularly the central defensive partnership - builds up rhythm/rapport, and that only comes with playing together regularly. As such, I'd like to see the following team:

------------ Karius
Clyne -- Lovren - Matip ---- Milner
--- Grujic --- Can --- Ejaria
Mane ------ Ings/Origi ---- Coutinho

Rested: Sturridge, Firmino, Wijnaldum (all three missed training on Monday). Henderson (give his heel a rest). Lallana (On the bench).

* Karius: Reportedly on £60k-a-week. Ejaria: described by Michael Beale as 'unbelievable'. Sturridge: £30m-rated. Firmino: £32m-rated. Wijnaldum: Cost £25m.
