'The Deal is Done': LFC to sign 'unbelievable' €33m World Cup star. Exciting news?

Alexis Sanchez continues to be linked with summer move to Anfield, and according to Liverpool legend Phil Thompson, the transfer is done and dusted.

At the beginning of June, Spanish newspaper Sport claimed that:

* Barcelona rejected a 'serious' offer from Liverpool in early-June.

* The club expected LFC to come back in with an increased bid.

Fast-forward a few weeks, and Italian newspaper Tutto Mercato claimed that Liverpool put in a €33m bid for Sanchez, who is currently representing Chile with distinction at the World Cup.

During a radio interview on Newstalk today, Thompson - who won sixteen major trophies during his illustrious spell at Anfield - claimed:

"Even just yesterday I had things from people, newspaper guys with their ear very close to the ground at Liverpool, saying that the Sanchez deal is done".

Last month, I conducted a poll asking if Liverpool should try to sign any of the following 7 Barca players (all allegedly for sale):

- Cristian Tello
- Alexis Sanchez
- Alex Song
- Pedro
- Dani Alves
- Cesc Fabregas
- Javier Mascherano

The majority of 20,000 (approx) participants voted for Sanchez, which is massive vote of confidence from a decent sample of Reds fans.

After facing Sanchez during Germany's recent 1-0 friendly victory over Chile, Arsenal's Per Mertesacker raved:

"You cannot catch him [Sanchez]. It's unbelievable how quick and how good with his feet he is. If you get one against one with him, it's nearly impossible"

Given his history at the club - as a player and coach - it's likely that Thommo has access to lots of inside information, and if he claims the Sanchez deal is done, then that's credible enough for me.

But Suarez didn't just score 20, he got 31 and without a single penalty. If he was the penalty taker, last year he could've possibly even got 40 goals.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Yes, but he is still replaceable. It's not the number of goals that matters. Premier League winning teams rarely score as many league goals as LFC did last season.

  4. Martinez or Falcao, I'm trying to think or others but I can't

  5. Or a picture in the Daily star of him in a Liverpool shirt.!

  6. this story again ?????

This is getting really boring (typical of this site)

  7. Phil Thompson said this about a player last season but I cant remember if we got him - I don't think so. I thought he should have held his tongue it can upset deals.

  8. Benzema maybe

  9. I reckon Sanchez would suit pl sytle and more importantly our style of play. Can come in off either wing or just off striker, more importantly going back to his Udinese days can cover if sturridge got injured and play main role. I reckon he would score/assist shedloads. Truth is you never know for certain how players adapt to other leagues until you bring them in, but class ones usually do.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Rickie Lambert does for me.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Ian Ayre...our so called 'deal maker' usually does a good job of upsetting deals. We won't have a clear run on him.

  17. I don't believe anyone will want suarez and if they did they will try to get him cheaper now hoping we are desperate to sell .
If I had choice selling him it would be to Real 80m plus Isco.
    he is going nowhere now

    That's the worst part.
I've never seen Adrian Chiles look so smug. God I hate that bloke. How did he ever get that job??? :(

Leonardo broke a USA player's jaw, yet is welcomed as an analyst on the Beeb.
Surely two-footed challenges and elbows are far more seriou (not to mention career-threatening)????
Typical moralists jumping on the bandwagon again.

  28. Watch the movie MoneyBall ... John Henry ended an 86 year wait for the Red Sox when they won the world series in 2004. It's clear John and FSG and Brendan are trying to do a similar thing at LFC.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I am still confidant that BR and FSG will bring some hihg profile player(s) , and that mid range arrivals will be much better finally..

    ReplyDelete
  30. I've seen money ball and it only briefly discusses the redsox. Yes they use sabermetrics but it doesn't really apply to a fluid game like football. I understand what your trying to say but it's flawed. Coutinho and Sturridge and players of their ilk are not going to replace Suarez. Aspas and Assaidi are examples of how that philosophy you espouse can go badly wrong. Both statistically looked good but neither could handle the prem in the way we want.

Like I say it is naive to believe we would have this seamless transition from having Suarez to not. There are few hidden gems, scouting in football now is not as archaic as it was in baseball prior to the sabermetrics boom.

    ReplyDelete
  31. But never like Luis, it is a sad thing.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Ther are no players like him outhere, and I think there won't be for some time- maybe never. But time to move on...

    ReplyDelete
  33. I would like to sing that kid, Lazar Markovic, i thing he is a god prospect.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Whatever is going on inside of him when he's on the pitch ... it's seriously disturbed. I don't doubt at all that with his family he's a smiling, happy, gentle guy who gets chided by his wife for his on-field behaviour. Put him on the pitch and at some point, add the right amount of pressure, a defender perhaps getting the better of him or even something totally unrelated and he snaps. His diving, his arguing with refs, three separate incidents of this (which is mind boggling even if happens even once), his alleged altercation with Evra, his attitude towards the English press ... this is a complex and personally somewhat broken man. He's a football genius but a total madman in highly charged environments. I just don't know what to do with him. He won't get a life ban for this, he'll play on the rest of his career although the length of ban will be very interesting. With his record, is 10 games enough any more? If he's found guilty surely there is cause for him to be given an entire year out of the game. His history cannot be ignored and he needs serious help. A few games out will frustrate him, but a year would really give him cause to think and reflect on what kind of person he actually wants to be. That would be harsh on Liverpool but it's our responsibility to accept that because we're otherwise happy for him to represent our club.

I'm just gob-smacked. What on earth is with this guy?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Agree again. Sanchez, Markovic, very good full back like Rojo plus Diame, just in case..
And Markovic is on the verge of scoring and/or assisting regullary in big games, so more than a prospect, me thinks..

    ReplyDelete
  36. And Sanchez, i hope that, if we sing him, he still have the good game of the last season.

    ReplyDelete
  37. All of his seasons were great, so I do not fear for his form if he comes...

    ReplyDelete
  38. I find it staggering that he could've done this again. It'll be very interesting to see how the club handle it this time

    ReplyDelete
  39. I think that Sturridge need some important games to get confident, becouse i sow him nerveous in the game against Costa Rica

    ReplyDelete
  40. That James Rodriguez is a crack too, but i dont see us singing him.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Who would not be.. Plus he is always trying to make it look like it doesn't matter as much when he scores because if does not- he will next time. That is how he himself explained his dance after scoring- peopple with that attitude have to show negative emotions eventually, and than it seems strange, but I would not worry about his state of mind in crucial games.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Why not?
There is EDIT next to REPLY, use it so you don't have to reply to yourself..

    ReplyDelete
  43. That is true, i am happy with the game of all our players, but i am so angry with Rooney, i think that if he wasnt playing the history was different.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Get a grip? lmao, it's your precious feral animal Suarez who needs to get a grip not me. Chomping on fellow pros. Not on psml.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Him and Wellback. Wellback being the worst. And less minutes for Steven too..

    ReplyDelete
  46. But that was one of his worst game, poor Steven, he deserves more

    ReplyDelete
  47. Moreno has resell value, but his current value is nowhere near that price. Marcelo is still relatively young but miles better than the current Moreno, and he can only get better, despite not having that resell aspect. I will admit that I really wanted Moreno, Marcelo is still VERY good, even if he won't bring in a ton of money later down the road. Its a difference of financial vs. footballing needs at the moment. FSG has stabilized the club financially, so I think they are looking to the immediate needs of the team. Moreno is also relatively untested anyway, and we have Brad Smith coming up as well.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Wouldn't have gotten that before the bite never mind now. I'd still take sanchez plus 50 million

    ReplyDelete
  49. Spurs all over again. I'd rather 2 world class players, no more, plus the targets lfc had already.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Could do better, but who knows

    ReplyDelete
  51. The photos that appeared in Spanish newspaper Sport (i.e. sans bite marks) are probably photoshopped, not the actual photo itself.

I have to go now, Greg, because I'm due back on the planet Earth.

    ReplyDelete
  52. You pays your money, you takes your chance, that's football, just because it didn't work out at Spurs that doesn't mean it won't work out at LFC or any other club. Sanchez would be a good start though.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I agree, Rickie will prove to be a tremendous signing. The roof will come off at Anfield when Rickie scores his first goal and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him to get a hattrick at next season.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I have to agree with Jamie here, no player is irreplaceable and no player is ever bigger then the club.

I would Man Utd are a great example of a club where great players have left yet they still continued to win trophies.

    well said

    ReplyDelete
  56. You make some good points Greg. I think the signings of Phillipe and Daniel proved that buying quality young players who are not getting game time at their respective clubs is the way FSG and Brendan are working. But like you say Aspas and Assiadi also proved to be a waste of money. But we can say that for all football clubs in every country. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. I have faith in Brendan and FSG to deliver the title.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  59. Well considering the ref didn't send him off I would say Chiellini is lying. The photo in the echo shows a slight mark, the photo in the mirror shows a big mark, Spanish press no mark. I couldn't make anything out when I watched it repeated several times. The inconsistencies point towards photoshop. I know from memory that the larger ones are fake for sure.

  60. rotchie the red4:29 pm, June 25, 2014

that was the right thing to do by FIFA....there was uproar when Zidane did that what he did....he got punished and he took his punishment and now people think the sun shines out of his etc.....Suarez should do the same thing, admit to what he did and stop the excuses and lies and donate a load of money to what ever charity, donate his time during his ban to helping kids etc and just accept his punishment/ban/fine also,.......then people might think the sun shines out of his.......

    ReplyDelete
  61. Winning trophies and being competitive in the market helped United. Once new money came in to the league they were less competitive in the market as it had been warped.

I am not saying a player is bigger than the club just that Suarez will be missed if sold. A replacement for a player not only of his quality but work ethic is very hard to come by. And we would not do it in one window and suffer in the league for it.

    ReplyDelete
  62. All that from a fan of Chelsea a whole team of cheats esp Roman who by the way have never heard of financial fair play LMFAO.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Replaceable? Yes.

    Will it be easy? No.

    ReplyDelete
  64. He's even fatter now

    ReplyDelete
  65. Thompsons last statement re the deal is done was Enrique - and it turned out to be true.

    ReplyDelete
  66. As you know I have defended Suarez many times on this site but between the barca rumours starting and now this, frankly I'm sick of him. He's not irreplaceable and I'll miss watching him but alexis Sanchez would certainly soften the blow. I think if we keep him this time it may cause some issues with our sponsors

    ReplyDelete
  67. I do agree that footballers are primarily entertainers but given the considerable influence that they have on their viewers (especially the young ones), they should have a moral obligation to conduct themselves appropriately.

Having said that, I find the reactions of certain pundits (like that idiot Danny Mills) totally over the top. Biting is a form of violent conduct, and any punishments dealt should be proportionate to the crime. I too would rather be bitten on the arm or shoulder than have my legs severely injured from a violent sliding tackle.

    ReplyDelete
  68. We're meeting FFP. Try to read something other than Liverpool Echo. And cheats? Since when? Talk about blinkered. Suarez spring to mind?

    ReplyDelete
  69. LOL @ Jaimie You're clutching at straws with the photoshopped picture rubbish.

I watched it all on TV and twitter yesterday and 2 photos instantly came out, one very perfect set of teeth marks on the obvious photoshop and the other at the same time with no marks.

Why is the one with the teeth marks obviously real? because thats the one that fits with your side of the argument?

People are thick "I dont know why he does it" "he cant help himself with biting people" "im talking more crap" "hes a cannibal" "hes a vampire"

No hes an idiot lets be real, 2+2 doesn't make 5 so lets not try and make it that way

LET ME SIMPLIFY THIS, HE DIDN'T BITE HIM BUT HE DID SORT OF PUT HIS MOUTH ON HIM THOUGH AS HIS REPUTATION GOES BEFORE HIM HE KNEW IT WAS ENOUGH TO GET A HIT TO THE FACE ... JUST LIKE LAST TIME AGAINST CFC.

People making out hes biting because he has issues, hes doing it because he thinks its going to get him fouled to win a pen with no signs of him using his arms or legs to start the incident ... you have to be dumb not to see that, as for the mark on his shoulder funnily enough i couldn't see it on any video just that one still, care to go through the video and pull the still off Jaimie, that's where it came from it was up on twitter literally a min after the incident, you telling me the guy took a photo ran to his laptop and uploaded it to twitter in the last 10 mins of the game?

People go on about defending him, no were not, hes a moron, BUT let him be vilified for his actual crime not a caricature of his crime

    ReplyDelete
  75. Most comment sections get bigger you come on here and it gets smaller as Jaimie deletes anything that makes him look wrong, freedom of speech dude, youre like a boxer that picks paper fights

    ReplyDelete
  76. No, your comment is in moderation because it contains personal insults against Suarez, something I've outlawed in the 'bite' article (is is outlawed on the site anyway)

If you can't stick to the commenting rules, that's your problem, not mine. Repost your comment in a civil manner and it will stay live. Go around spouting nonsense about comments that don't agree with me being being deleted (like your other deleted comment), and you'll be banned.

  77. Well I hope old thommo is tight! Been saying for ages alexis would b an amazing signing. As far as Senor Suarez, I'm with Jock in the kop. I'm sick of defending him. He does actually need proper help. There's a sandwich short of a picnic with him. Best striker in the world? Yes! Bigger than liverpool? He'll no! Bring in sanchez and Falcao!

    ReplyDelete
  78. I mean hope old thommo is right! Lol

  81. Terry McDermotts perm6:25 pm, June 25, 2014

I've been convinced for a while that Liverpool won't make a single top class signing this window. Unless you include paying way over the top for an English one season wonder.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Its no defence but I have seen far worse and more bites some drawing blood on TV during rugby games - being the gentlemen private school types it was all glossed over - the same crew will be castigating Suarez.

  83. If he wants to go take 65 mil+Sanchez then buy lavezzi from psg for 30
25+borini for lovren and lallana an 10 for rojo

    ReplyDelete

  87. What happened to the Pedro fascination? The only reason why Sanchez has not been any better than what he already has at Barcelona is because Messi is like the blue eyed boy there. Sanchez would be a remarkable signing. Still believe it will only be possible to sign should Suarez be on his way.

    ReplyDelete
  92. What's that got to do with football? Are you a woman reading soap and gossip mags? That's where you're going wrong mate. Fair enough about Terry. Suarez has what he did and worse though so I don't see how a Liverpool fan has anything to be proud about.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Cannot see why LFC would want to sign Lavezzi when he is going to cost a shed load going into his 30's.

    ReplyDelete
  94. If this is a done deal...how come it doesn't even make the BBC gossip page? Also, although I would love to have AS, especially after watching his command of the pitch in the WC, it is no ringing endorsement to quote Mertesacker evaluating Sanchez's speed. I've seen bugs run faster the big Per.

    ReplyDelete
  95. I find it hard to believe there is even speculation about it. Suarez did it, for the third time. when the stakes are high he loses his cool / mind.

i find it laughable that people even dignify to defend this. its hopefully 24 match international ban, it hits Suarez hard knowing how much he loves playing for his country.

not the meanest foul/worst one ever. but its pretty freaking humiliating for us liverpool fans.

i love the player when he concentrates on playing, right now im disgusted, but still dont think we should accept anything lower evaluation selling him than new world record.

    ReplyDelete
  96. His ban could also be in Champions League, and worse case scenario EPL. Depending on if Uefa ask FIFA to sanction him on their behalf, the EPL could also do the same, I got this from an Article in The Bleacher Report.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Wouldn't there be a reason though? Italy is known for being so insulting they provoke action. Zidane who is generally a passive player head butted an Italian player because of insults directed at his mother. Let's face it, Suarez has a bit of an overbite, what if he is actually sensitive of the issue and the Italian player found it a good ploy to insult him accordingly. We all have feelings right? Obviously he should be in more control of his emotions but it would be kind of neat to imagine someone biting a player that was making fun if their teeth. As a Uruguayan it ducks how this incident is taking away from the teams spotlight.

    ReplyDelete
  98. We might get more than we paid but more than we paid and wages? Probably not. And considering how (un)useful he was it shows flaws in the scouting and buying system we have in place.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Exactly this person he has got the info from is not even reporting it! If you are a Journo in football and knew something like this it would be priceless. They print all sorts of garbo so why not this? Nah as much as I would like it it is just...well....bull(?).

    ReplyDelete
  100. no way suarez job isnt done for liverpool, i know you are too scared for reputation but the best reputation is goals goals and goals.. should keep him

    ReplyDelete
  101. It's possible but seems unlikely. There would have to be some self righteous arses to do it.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Who knows, with elections for the President of FIFA on the horizon, maybe one of them might use this incident as a statement of intent, anyway he brought it on himself, deserves what he gets, unfortunately we done no wrong, yet we will suffer one way or another. ("we" being LFC)

    ReplyDelete
  103. I am referring to the whole of season 2013 / 2014 which is still ongoing. You can't pick and choose what constitutes a season in order to add weight to your opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  104. brace yourselves... the "sign shaqiri ASAP" comments are coming...

    ReplyDelete
  105. I certainly hope it's true we have signed Sanchez he would suit us perfectly.

    ReplyDelete
  106. a hat trick 2nite, why not.

    ReplyDelete
  107. yeah but he has not impressed overall. would much we rather go for sanchez.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Ofcourse I can because that was the basis of my arguement. The 2013/14 EPL season is over. That was my point. You sir, are broadening the definition of a season to support your arguement...

    ReplyDelete
  109. Of course Sachez would be a dream come true, but at the price Shaqiri might be good value, to add to Sanchez, and drop the Lallana interest. That is if reports are true we are already negotiating a Shaqiri deal.

    ReplyDelete
  110. I'd prefer he goes to Barca for 2 reasons. Firstly, to see the look on Messi's face when Suarez doesn't always pass him the ball and instead beats 2 and scores ; and secondly so that he can play against Ramos and Pepe and the 3 of them can kick, bite, scratch, and headbutt each other as much as they like!

    ReplyDelete
  111. Now not to excuse Suarez but someone on Belgian tv made a very good point just now. Strikers get punched, pushed and kicked around a lot and it's all accepted as part of the game. So how bad is it that strikers every once in a while retaliate? Like I said, not to excuse Suarez because I think biting is just plain classless but I don't think it's a big deal when strikers retaliate every once in a while

    ReplyDelete
  112. And Sterling is?

    ReplyDelete
  113. Alexis in and a direct swap Suarez for Messi. If they want him, they can pay like for like and they can keep their deadbeats like Tello and Pedro.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Think that had more to do with the mental scars of being managed by Hodgson.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Leonardo received a four match ban, but I believe that that was his first major infraction. Its not just the one incident, but how he keeps doing absurd, violent, and out of the pale things. How many more times would you let him do such things before a lifetime ban?

    ReplyDelete
  116. What a nonsense statement.Do you know him personally? The manis in enough bother without supposed fans of his own club making such tripe statements.

    ReplyDelete
  117. On the back of shady Romans dealings should be ashamed to have such an owner at least Suarez doesn't have people killed you should google him one day.
The shady dealings like the one for Luiz wreaks of cheating.
    Talk about blinkered yourself hypocrite.

    ReplyDelete
  118. :-) good to debate though

    ReplyDelete
  119. If true, then spectacular. Hope he doesn't bite.......

  120. Blind would be great

    ReplyDelete
  121. B Rodgers should do this deal with Barcelona for L Suarez(27) , Pedro(26) and Sanchez(25) and 50M Cash.

L Suarez(27) is an awesome player no one can doubt that but he has too many issues and he wants to go spain. We should now just let him go but get as much as we can for him, while we can.

As after the England game, L Suarez(27) comments about the press, how he dreamed of scoring against England was to antagonize things and his way of hinting he wants out.

But B Rodgers should only accept Pedro, Sanchez and 50M for L Suarez(27) off Barcelona nothing less.

And then with that 50M and another 10M off board:

B Rodgers should bring in these three class quality players:

    1: DM: B Matuidi(27) Of PSG for 12-16M
    2: CM: T Alacantra(23) Of B Munich for 20-26M
    3:AM: Firminho(22) Of Hoffenheim for 12-17M

And then club would have shipped out one world class player with issues who cannot change some of his bad attitude and cannibalistic ways and who wants out of England and replace him with Two mobile pacey quick world class players and three class quality players who will strengthen or centre midfield considerably.

  122. KK did for himself with his outrageous behaviour in the aftermath of the Suarez racism incident with Evra.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Who payed his wages the year before? Five miles is absolute max and I would be surprised if we got that. It's academic until we know for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  124. I hope Liverpool fans don't fall for the trap being laid by supporters of other clubs who suddenly have such high morals that they want Suarez banned from all levels of the game. I don't condone Suarez's actions but, given the opportunity, they will all be rubbing their hands at the thought of him turning out for their club. Remember Arsenal fans forgetting their objections last season when they lodged a £40m+£1 bid?

  126. Sign him up and send sureaz the other way.
Mario madzukic wants to leave Bayern could also sign Pedro with the money Hannibal goes for.... God I wish he leaves but were stronger for it

  127. Although i would be ecstatic if Liverpool signed Sanchez Thompson has said this kind of thing before on tv i would not listen to a word he says.

  128. Actually Kenny was not far better than Kevin.
They were both brilliant players - I saw them both stacks of times. Keegan MADE Liverpool into a great team but they already were a great team when Dalglish came, in '77. It'a bit like Paisley and Shankly. Sure, Bob was a terrific manager, no doubt. But it was Shankly who turned them into the country's top team.

  129. There have been bad incidents in the past and they never have repercussions for the club involved unless drugs are involved.

I would be very surprised if they did impose a worldwide ban but knowing how ridiculous FIFA and UEFA are it could happen.

  130. He has said stuff like this before and been wrong though.

  131. Hypocrite? You're a moron. You're bringing in issues that have nothing to do with football to defend your monster. You disgust me.

  132. City don't have Suarez and they did ok didn't they? Atletico didn't have Suarez. Nor did Real. Bayern didn't have Suarez and neither did PSG and they all had a great season. Every player can be replaced. We got the results we got because of our manager. Suarez helped a lot but even if he leaves, I'm sure our manager can continue to get results. It's funny that whenever results are bad it's because of the manager but if they are good it's because of the players

  133. They do have to do with football but if your going to troll websites gameboy i suggest you learn to take a bit of what you dish out.
Classless comments indeed how about trying something that would truly add to the discussion.

  134. Good signing for lfc. Saurez must have his teeth removed so that he can get a lesser ban and can guarantee that he wouldn't bite again.

  135. In no way did I insult Suarez, pointing out hes an idiot for thinking the ref wont see a bite (rather than arms and legs hitting out) that causes him to be hit in the box to try and win a penalty . That's more of a fact than insult.

Txt spk ? Really must have been a typo then as I'm not 12

You get some disagreement with the odd fact but its just the Suarez stuff that you cant seem to get over

I was just saying lets look at the incident for what it was and not a caricature of the incident.

Last point was the photoshopping... both pics came out at exactly the same time on twitter you pointed out the one with marks must be real and the other fake ... for some reason. even though the bike mark one looks fake, I just issued you with a challenge that if you are so adamant go through the footage yourself and pull off the same still that was being circulated, you wont be able to as that one had no marks ...

  136. Not defending something that's wrong, but you never liked Suarez anyway, so no matter what you will always fire negativity towards him regardless

  137. That's it, it must be true, following the Bognor Regis observers exclusive the East Grinsted times has confirmed he is off to Barcelona

  141. If Luis Suarez stays at Liverpool beyond August he will have missed 32 games through four separate bans since arriving in 2011. That's almost a whole season... do we really want him to stay?

    ReplyDelete
  142. Do I know him personally?!? And you are telling me I am talking nonsense. haha...

  145. For god's sake, do NOT sell Suarez, there would be no shortage of buyers. Money isn't everything, Spurs spunked £110M last season. Yes, he has a problem, but we can work on it. Anyway, I wouldn't trust Buck with 110p ..

  146. I feel so sadden by the whole Suarez saga. As a huge
fan of Suarez and LFC, I supported Suarez when he was banned for racially abusing Evra. I still felt sorry for him when he was banned for biting Ivanovic. But a third bite at a world sage, where the entire world is watching the best player in the BPL and only third to CR and Messi, words seem inadequate to describe how betrayed I feel by Suarez's latest action.

In the immediate effect of the bite, he [Suarez] stated "these things happen in football". So, why on earth, is he still denying biting Chiellini? He seems to be an idiot who does not deserve any mercy or help at the moment. Unless he is ready to accept the responsibility of his actions, the best therapist in the world cannot help him resolve his shortcoming.

In spite of all these adversities surrounding Suarez, I still like him as a great player who I only rank next to the great Zidane, Ronaldinho, and Messi in modern football. His [Suarez] talent is indispensable, at least in my eyes, to Uruguay and to LFC of course. What I hate most about him [Suarez] is whatsoever evil spirit that influences his biting behavior. May
God grant him serenity so he can reflect objectively on every controversy that he has been attracted to up to date in order to ratify his iniquities and
continue to be the great player he was born to be. May God bless him and his family as they go through this difficult time.
