Anfield legend Mark Lawrenson claims that the departure of Liverpool striker Luis Suarez is a foregone conclusion, and he believed the Uruguayan will leave the club sooner rather than later.
In countless interviews over the last few weeks, Suarez has shamelessly prostituted himself to Real Madrid, and grossly disrespected Liverpool FC in the process, and in his column for the Liverpool Daily Post today, Lawro argued that the Uruguayan 'is writing Liverpool an open letter in public saying that he wants to go to Real Madrid', and warned that he could go on strike to secure a move:
"It's bad news for any Liverpool fans still clinging to the hope Luis Suarez will stay put.
"The Uruguayan press boys who came up to us in Recife on Sunday were suggesting Suarez might not even train again with Liverpool, such is his desire to leave".
Lawro seems to be suggesting here (without directly saying it), that Suarez may refuse to train with Liverpool in a bid to push through a move. What other interpretation is there?
* As long as Suarez is a Liverpool player, he's obligated to fulfil his contractual duties.
* A player under contract does not have a choice about training with his club.
* As such, if he doesn't train whilst under contract, that is a refusal to train, is it not?
Additionally, if - as Lawro suggests - the Uruguayan reporters who've been talking with Suarez over the last few weeks are convinced he is desperate to leave, the writing is well and truly on the wall.
Clearly, Suarez has spoken with his compatriots off the record about his desire to leave Anfield, and they've conveyed that message to Lawro.

Lawro is a belter!!!
ReplyDeleteAre you suggesting he is lying? Why would he do that? Clearly, he's played down whatever he was told.
ReplyDeletelawro is the most anti ex liverpool player ever
ReplyDeleteSuarez might be confident of getting a move, hence he would not train with LFC again. I honestly find it hard to see Real Madrid taking LS at an enormous price and plenty of baggage.
ReplyDeleteI don't really care If he goes! If he wants to leave let him. If I worked at a job and had the chance to move to a better one I would want to take It too. I do believe he hasn't conducted himself very well since he went to the confed cup, he should have just said to the club he wants to leave and let it be sorted that way. I just hope we get a good deal and a good replacement.
ReplyDeleteMore worrying for me is the fact that Shaktar have said they have received no bid from us for Mkhitaryan. I really hope we get him because he's got that predator instinct for late runs into the box and generally looks like a good player and person.
more shite from a shit site
ReplyDeletedear jamie
ReplyDeletedo you not think that it is exactly you that suarez is talking about when he said that the media never speak about his football, to say that the guy prostituted himself is way out of order... I know talking about suarez in this way pays your wages but come on mate have a little dignity and remeber he is one of the best premiership players around... yes he's made mistakes but that doesnt give you the right to use that type of language........ grow up....
you doing anything tonight tina?
ReplyDeleteCan someone shed light on the consequences if Suarez refuses to train?
ReplyDeleteCan LFC fine him, suspend him, etc.?
suspend him would be counterproductive , but a fine sounds legit
ReplyDeleteis the fine substantial enough that it would make a difference to him?
ReplyDeleteFor instance, if he's making 120k per week, and he gets fined 2k for each day he misses, he's essentially meaningless to him.
Yes he is and always has been full of s##t
ReplyDeleteHe can go, but Real Madrid haven't even spoken to his agent yet. If he stays I think he would still give his effort to Liverpool. But who knows.
ReplyDeleteNormally they would give a fine for how many weeks he refuses to train however if like Tevez he sues the club for fining him more than 2 weeks wages which is the most stupid rule I have ever heard! (2 weeks wages is the max you can fine a player under the players federation thing) Oh and Tevez won... also what's the point in suspending a player who is refusing to train anyway? It was like this lad I went to school with, he never turned up but the day he did the school suspended him for skiving...
ReplyDeleteyou go or stay i don't care.. all i care is when you leave lfc must obtain at least 50millions.
ReplyDeleteSame as torres.. we would build the squad deeply with that sum..
I thought he was told that if he wanted to leave he had to put a transfer request in, he hasn't yet so why would he not train, its just speculation and no one really knows what he's going to do
ReplyDeleteNo he is a belter of that you can be sure!!!
ReplyDeleteYes we can in a big way.
ReplyDeleteSeems to me Madrid want other players like Bale, Cavanni Etc. Or it could be madrid have spoken to him on the quiet and said play the discontent and it will lower your price. Either way looks like he's going, not to fear though LFC will walk on as we always have done when players have left. Get the most we can for him and reinvest in the squad. YNWA
ReplyDeletesuarez is the man.......... ha ha everyones talking nonesense, let the man be........ he is a winner and worth more than 40 million, gareth bale 80 million? what is he worth 2 suarez's? naaa dont think so somehow....
ReplyDeleteI am sick and tired of Luis' games. In the (highly unlikely) event there is no truth in this, then all he has to do is come out and deny it and pledge his future to the club. This he has not done and so, if Real Madrid (or anyone else) wants to pay us £50m - up front, in cash, no makeweights - then I would take it. I want players who want to play for us.
ReplyDeletethe problem is, contract arent respected any more these days. if a player wants to leave he has to many chances, no one forced him to sign such a long contract, and as long as hes under contract he´s to play for us. Fact is players like suarez give a f*ck about these rules...
ReplyDeletethe way hes pushing for a move, i wouldnt be that confident...
ReplyDeleteI think it's best just to get rid of him. But who's going to stump the 50 mil up? Real Madrid don't even want at 40, bayern want lewanski. Options for Suarez are shortening. :-) but maybe PSG will stump it up haha :-)
ReplyDeletecan we get a confirmation from zidane they really our troublemaker ? ._. this is now getting rather annoying and can someone tell coates to apply somesuperglue to suarezs mouth ._. ...... god bless coates a real professional ^^
ReplyDeleteI can't see someone biding that high either, but I can see an angry suarez who refuses to train with us because, we didn't sell him for less money to a club.
ReplyDeleteAnd this would be a serious problem ...
Who knows what goes on behind closed doors, so I'm not very confident that Real haven't spoken to his agent. If I were a betting man, I'd bet they have lots of times.
ReplyDeleteLike Carra said, he'll put in the effort on the pitch, me thinks.
We have agreed £6.8 million for luis Alberto, he has arrived in Liverpool for a Medical (according to skysports) :-) he will sign a 4 year deal.
ReplyDeleteTrue all we can do is see what happens. Hopefully he is fine by not getting a move
ReplyDeleteWas it Lawro that was whistling during commentary the other night?
ReplyDeleteI really hope this isn't going to be a long summer, regarding the Cannibal. This needs to be nipped in the bud, either way but considering the club's past dealings with Suarez, I'm not confident. Real won't mind either way, Real don't mind a bit of drama and press antics.
ReplyDeleteU sure mate????........not seen that!!!
ReplyDeleteHe commited his future to us much too often to betray us now...
ReplyDeleteHe will get his move sometime in the future, but unless he doesn't stop behaving like an absolute idiot on the pitch we won't get the money we are demanding for him...
In fact we won't sell him, we have no pressure at all, and suarez shouldn't have the rights to put pressure on us. His contract is long enough, if he behaves next season, I have no doubt the club would find an agreement with a top club and sell him for an adequate summ of money!!
LUIS ALBERTO DEAL DONE............................£6.8m, medical tomorrow!!!.
ReplyDeleteYou are 100% correct!!!!
ReplyDeletesame. I`m guessing tho nothing will happen either way until he is finished at the con feds cup in a few weeks.
ReplyDeleteCome on Jaimie you can spend your time on something better than this!!! Lawro is just trying his best to counter what Jaime C said on Sky sports. LFC fans are through with this back and forth and Media over hype of every thing the man says. If Madrid wants him and he clearly wants to go, so if Madrid is so serious an offer would have been made. Remember when they got Kaka and Ronaldo? You named your price and they give you a check. Please JK waist your time on some more important things like who is coming in IMO..
ReplyDeleteWell and truly bored of this now. More interested in who we're getting for next season.
ReplyDeleteNo he's not. I'm sure some Uruguayan journalists said that to him. It means sfa though untill Suarez actually says it himself. To be honest the whole media circus around Suarez for the past two years and so far this summer is getting fairly boring and predictable. It'll be sad if he leaves but it's not new that the English media determines public opinion. Obviously people have learned nothing from the whole NOTW and "the truth" rubbish.
ReplyDeleteSorry I do not believe this for a second. LS has been vocal, can't say what is and ins't true as I do not speak the lingo and I certainly wouldn't take what is written or said as being gospel. The one thing I am 100% certain of however is that it is very unlikely that he would go on strike, whatever anyone things of LS he lives and breathes football. It is very difficult to get a kid to stop playing with a toy and LS is like a kid, you can't even take him off the field without out him getting p****d. And if he goes so what, if you were offered a better job in the sun and had a chance to earn more money having your in-laws nearby to help with your kids etc... would't you take that opportunity?
ReplyDeleteIf he really has said we has said to the press he has been disrespectful, so what can be done about it? you can tell him to shut his trap or tell him to go. If it was another player I am sure he would have been out of the door ages ago, if it had been another player no LFC fan would have supported him and the only reason the fans and the club supported him is because he is a talent, if it was some mediocre player no one would bother about writing about him or supporting him and no one would call him a traitor etc etc...
But unfortunately Jamie likes to write anything bad to do with LS, but he should be the most worried as he will have to come up with new stuff if he leaves
jaimie ,i am probably wasting my time writing this,as you seem to block most of my comments about saurez ,but this is a new low even for you ,we all get it you want suarez out (infact never gave him one bit of credit)but they said he mite not train because he may not be there nothing about refusing to train ,this is just a twist on peoples comments
ReplyDeletetina can you change your profile photo,i can see last weeks washing
ReplyDelete(this is a joke please do not take offence]
it must be true yesterday he told us hk was on the plane and the deal was just about done, why would you doubt it lol;-)
ReplyDeletethis is the 1St time I will have fell out with you mind your own business the photos alright !!!!!!! better than lookin at jk haha
ReplyDeleteEnglish media manipulates public opinion more like!!
ReplyDeleteLooks ok from here Jas!!!
ReplyDeletebut hopefully he will have more respect than that to the club we cant have the tail waggin the dog and if he does let him rot . 50mil no less
ReplyDeletenearly see the luis suarez up the skirt!!!!
ReplyDeletelol i wish i had not said nothing;-) ;-)
ReplyDeleteI didn't say he was on the plane, you make things up, it's hilarious, but go see skysports and bbc, if you can. (Might be to difficult for you tho) ;-)
ReplyDeletei am a racist male chauvenest (f"ck knows how you spell it )pig;-)
ReplyDeleteNo player is bigger than the club. We have to ask ourselves, if most of this was media exaggeration why has he not come out and said so. I love Suarez, amazing talent but his handling of this situation is absolutely disgraceful. I don't actually know how he could be allowed to wear a Red shirt ever again. There would have to be a U-turn the size of an ocean liner and an apology to the manager, the team and the fans. We stuck by him and now he doesn't want to pay us back! If Madrid give us Morata plus 40m, let him go. If not. Anything over 55m or let him spit the dummy. Rodgers won't take his disrespect lightly and I hope he lets Luis know that. Ahh that rant felt good. YNWA
ReplyDeleteThiago from Barcalona, is on his way to PL, but to united, such a good player! Going to sign him for 15-17 million. Gutted.
ReplyDeleteis that another of your insider knowledge contacts moves ,or as usual just jumping on a internet sites bandwagon ,yesterday hk was on a plane ,you state as fact something daily ,and the facts are you are very, very often wrong, maybe you mite have more success with man ure
