After last season's humiliation in the Champions League, Barcelona boss Tito Villanova is reportedly ready to rip-up his squad and start again, which could be good news for Liverpool in the upcoming transfer window.
According to Barcelona-based newspaper Mundo Deportivo, the Catalan club has transfer-listed THIRTEEN players with a combined transfer value of €178m.
Here is the full list of players Barca is willing to sell:
- Victor Valdes (€18m-rated)
- Rafinha (€12m buyout clause)
- Thiago Alcantara (€18m buyout clause)
- Ibrahim Affelay (€8m-rated)
- Jonathan Dos Santos (€30m buyout clause)
- Bojan Krkic (€15m option-to-buy)
- Gerard Deulofeu (€35m buyout clause)
- Isaac Cuenca (€20m buyout clause)
- David Villa (€12m-rated)
- Cristian Tello (€10m buyout clause)
- Alexis Sanchez (€29m-rated)
Little-known youngsters Andreu Fontas, Oier Olazabal, and Marc Bartra are also available.
In the last year, Liverpool have been linked with Dos Santos, Deufoleu, Sanchez, Villa, Krkic, Tello, Affelay, Alcantara, Cuenca and Valdes (!), and the club is currently tying up a deal for ex-Barcelona B attacker Luis Alberto.
Many of these players have huge buyout clauses, but if Barca want to sell, then it's unlikely that these will come into play, and this could mean that there are some (potentially) great deals to be made.
Should Liverpool pursue any of these players? If so, who; where would they fit in, and at whose expense...?

Tiago and tello
ReplyDeleteMost of the players mentioned have good potential. I would go for Thiago, Affelay, Deulofeu, Cuenca and Tello.
ReplyDeleteTello would be the only one. Maybe Thiago, but no more.
ReplyDeleteMarc bartra, tello, Thiago and deulofeu
ReplyDeleteThe majority of them players are rubbish. Tello looks like the only one worth the money
ReplyDeleteagreed
ReplyDeleteTiago,tello,villa(just for experience upfront) :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like panic at the Nou Camp to me. Or at least unrest. Obviously they can forget about getting 18 million for players that have hardly played for them or who are in the final year of their contract. It could also mean that they will come back to us for Reina and possibly Suarez.Of those mentioned...pfff...maybe Tello. Not even sure about that one.
ReplyDeletevilla as back up the rest are overated or potential players lets not waste any more money on potential
ReplyDeletetello
ReplyDeleteswap suarez for tello, villa, thiago and 25mn....
ReplyDeleteAlcantara Cuenca and Tello all talents and would be great gets if the asking prices could be lowered.
ReplyDeletedont think barca want suarez...
ReplyDeletethey are looking for a striker I guess...villa replacement.
ReplyDeletei think the rodgers tkka takka barca style is going to your head jaimie m8 why would we want any barca players after we signed the welsh xavi
ReplyDeletemhhh 50m+
ReplyDeleteotherwise no chance - hopefully ;)
SANCHEZ!!!!!
ReplyDeleteTHIAGO ALCANTARA would be a great signing and my top choice out of that group.ALEXIS SANCHEZ would be good too but the fee would have to come with at least 40% off the asking price for that deal to make sense.
ReplyDeleteEric, the only people in a panic are the sports writers. Are they all bilious? What are they smoking? The only explanation I have for the three hundred or so players that they "link" to all and sundry clubs... and then write about the "blow" suffered when these same players don't sign with the twenty clubs they have been linked to... is that they are living off the advertising revenue.
ReplyDeleteInteresting list. Tello to replace Downing, Alcantara to replace Allen or Henderson and Deulofeu to come in as back up to cover as a Striker or winger, his goals per game ratio is pretty impressive for a young lad.
ReplyDeleteI would go for Thiago, Cuenca, Tello, Bartra and Villa the rest haven't impressed me much.
ReplyDeleteAnd I guess Neymar will play on the wing.
ReplyDeleteInteresting to see that Mkhitaryan played against Christian Eriksen last night with one being scoring a solo goal of some beauty and the other having a mare. Hope we get the Armenian and not the ajax player who doesn't want to come to anfield.
ReplyDeleteI would probably keep tabs on Rafinha, Bojan, and Tello. Maybe Villa, as he could go cheaply. But I don't think any of them would really be a priority to sign.
ReplyDeleteeriksen was clueless yday ......he was trying to showboat ......imo he is getting frustated no one yet made a good offer on him
ReplyDeleteBarca is going to take a massive loss, if they are to off-load these players, whom they hardly plays. I 'll go for only 1 players at right price - Tello, & may be Caucena.
ReplyDeleteone doesnot simply have enough xavis :P
ReplyDeleteisnt it cuenca ? ........ id just try bring back mascherano
ReplyDeleteProbably Barca needing to pay off some debts!!!!
ReplyDeleteTello and Cuenca, two top quaility players!!!
ReplyDeleteexcept in our case where ones more than enough
ReplyDeleteMartin Montoya and Christian Tello are the players that LFC should go for IMO. Valdes is going to Monaco as on the web. Thiago Alacantra going for Manchester United. David Villa too old for our transfer policy. Santos, Cuenca, Bartra and Deulofeu are over-rated because they play for Barca and nothing else. There are many players who have more potential than them and Van Ginkel and Viktor Fischer are a few to name.
ReplyDeleteI've heard that Viktor Fischer is actually the one to look out for at Ajax and not Eriksen. What do you think?
ReplyDeleteYep, weren't they bailed out by their own country some years ago. Spain won't be able to do that anymore, given the current financial climate.
ReplyDeleteI would vouch for that kid at any day, he's just pure class and potential. I have watched him a few times and believe me that kid is gonna be one hell of a player very soon.
ReplyDeleteBut as far as I know he has been linked to Chelsea which is not good for any club in PL. They seem to take up all the upcoming talents, just look at the players they have and their ages. They will be a very strong team very soon. They don't have as many CBs from the youth ranks though like we have. I think they have also changed their transfer policy of bringing in youth. They are going for Luke Shaw too. I have only one hope left that as soon as Mourinho comes he will divide the whole team into groups and ruin it their at Chelsea. IDK what everyone is thinking but CFC is only going to get ruined by signing Mourinho LOL. :D
apparently they want Torres as Villa replacement...lol
ReplyDeletereal
ReplyDeleteThe outstanding player in that list by a mile is: Thiago Alcantara,
ReplyDeleteHe is brilliant, and at that price, a bargain. Cant get his game, coz the best midfield duo in World football are ahead of him. I cant see him being available at that price, we should snap him up.
I didn't see the match yesterday... I take your word over the performance of Eriksen...
ReplyDeleteBut thankfully, it seems Mkhi is being prioritised over Eriksen... I desperately wanted Eriksen before, but now, I would prefer Mkhi... I also think that Alcantara would fit us nicely too... What do you think?
Tello (from recommendations) and Thiago, Thats it.
ReplyDeleteis that an animal on your avatar? what is it ? ive been asking this myself for a while now ..
ReplyDeleteI thought that was Real Madrid not Barca Anteater.
ReplyDeleteIs that a serious question to him? if so brilliant you just cheered me up.
ReplyDeleteDid you see what Mascherano did yesterday? He kicked at a medic! I don't know what made him do that, but man, that's cheap :-/
ReplyDeleteAnd i wouldn't want him back, especially the way he forced his transfer...
i would take a wild guess that its an anteater lol;-)
ReplyDeleteok ok , forget it im blind :X
ReplyDeleteDer gute alte Ameisenbär :-)
ReplyDeleteI thought it was both!
ReplyDeleteNot both? I thought both had to get money from the government.
ReplyDeleteThought for quite some while now that the hype about Eriksen is to get him sold to create better opportunities for Fischer.
ReplyDeleteChelsea go after him. Well, we don't, at least there are no rumours I know of. If we did, he'd have the choice. Sitting on the bench, maybe being loaned out with Chelsea or actually getting first team action at Liverpool, for maybe half the wages.
I don't know about Mourinho. He is a good manager, after all. And he might have learned a thing or two. Having only moderate success with Real might have brought him down to earth.
jeder macht mal fehler ;)
ReplyDeletethe sad point is, nowadays most people go after the money not their chances...
ReplyDeleteMourinho gives those people chances he likes. the others are unfortunate and warm the bench for their lifetime...
well he definitely is available and rumours are barca reuced his 90m escape clause to 18m if thats true id go for alcantra over mhik ONLY AND IF ONLY there exists no buy back clause .......otherwise id rather shell out 22 on mhik ....... if that fails too if eriksen is available for 12m then only .....if that too fails :P time to put more trust in suso
ReplyDeleteat 18m thats not really a bargain .......we are not the free spenders we were once
ReplyDeletewhat happened to the autobots pic :O
ReplyDeleteyeah i did but there really not a host of good cdms out there ....or rather the ones that are good are either not interested in us or are priced off ....so masch :(
ReplyDeletetello maybe bojan if the price was right for under 8m villa aswell if more no chance
ReplyDeleteThiago and Tello. Got high hopes over Thiago's potent
ReplyDeleteAuf dem Bild erkennt man den aber wirklich schlecht. Das muss zu Deiner Ehrenrettung mal gesagt werden!
ReplyDeleteSo the question, or one of the questions would be, in case Fischer signed for Chelsea, is he a player Mourinho wants or one that Abramovic wants.
ReplyDeleteYes, some players take the money and sit on the bench. How it makes them happy, I don't know. Some then start mourning that they never get on the pitch. Ah well, footballers are not the brightest people around, and their agents probably don't advise them as good as they should.
Wow too many to choose from. I think David Villa is a proven goalscorer why is everyone saying he's a backup? This guy is Spain's top guy for many years he can definitely perform for few more years if he plays regularly. I'm sure Sanchez has also proven himself and everyone has potential.
ReplyDeleteYou might have a point here. Raúl was 33 when he joined Schalke and served them very well for two years, scoring 28 goals in 66 games.
ReplyDeleteI'm still shocked that they would consider getting rid of Thiago - he really must have gone backwards drastically last year!
ReplyDeleteYup, the reason why he's not playing as well is because 1) he got injured and 2) he couldn't play in his preferred role because everyone has to give way to messi just like ibrahimovic. Give him regular football and this guy is a natural goalscorer!
ReplyDeleteIn today's market, £18m for a world class player definitely IS a bargain - it's only a year since we spent almost £27m on Allen and Borini!
ReplyDeleteYou desperately wanted one player due to the reputation that he has cultivated over the last few months and years, and because of a poor performance in an international friendly you've changed your mind??
ReplyDeleteBarcelona signed Sanchez for a good reason, just 12 short months ago. I'd be more than happy to see him join Liverpool upon Suarez's inevitable departure.
ReplyDeleteGetting in another quality striker to join a front 3 with Sturridge & Sanchez, with Coutinho behind them, would definitely have us back challenging the teams at the top, and not just aspiring for a top 4 place
I will make Bojan Krkic top of the want-list. Next maybe Tello and Thiago Alcântara.
ReplyDeleteThey have made a considerable commitment and investment in Cesc, which has seen Thiago drop down the pecking order.
ReplyDeleteI don't think they want to sell him yet but he has a low buy out clause (it is the same sort of situation with Tello), which is forcing things. With WC next year, Cesc in the way and a low buy out clause, Thiago's entourage have been doing the usual predictable noises.
So that considered, it is just other circumstances (mentioned above) have meant it is quite feasible for other clubs to buy him this summer, rather than him not progressing.
So, imo, I don't think they want to get rid of Thiago.
I changed it. Might change back, just for you :-)
ReplyDeleteare you serious?? Bojan ahead of Thiago, Sanchez, Tello, Villa et al?? :-o
ReplyDeleteDon't buy into the myth that LFC can't attract quality players.
ReplyDeleteOr the one that even with all the hundreds of professional clubs all over the world, there is really such a limited talent pool to pick from
I watched the boy played some seasons ago, he was real good for his age. I still rate him, not at 15 mil Euro of course.
ReplyDeleteYou are prob right. I only knew of Real from the top of my head, but are prob right that it was both
ReplyDeleteThiago and Tello should be both brought to club for £24m , both them players would bring more class, quality to the side.
ReplyDeleteOh no here he goes again...... Negative, negative and more negative! Lol
ReplyDeleteAlthough I do agree with you about getting villa in if we can get him on the cheap and he doesn't ask for ridiculous wages, great alongside sturridge and aspas. Tello also that's it though as the rest are to expensive!
ReplyDeleteLike most here, I'd agree with Tello.
ReplyDeleteThiago, Tello, Cuenca, deleofeu, bartra!!!!!!!!! If only.....
ReplyDeleteI don't think that anything has changed him and ever will. He's way too stubborn. Believe me I spoke to a few Chelsea fans and they said they were happy with the result Rafa got for them.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that anything has changed him and ever will. He's way too stubborn. Believe me I spoke to a few Chelsea fans and they said they were happy with the result Rafa got for them. He(Mourinho) is just going to ruin CFC to the core.
ReplyDeletethiago and tello are exciting prospects ,but would they add quality and make an immediate impact is anybody's guess
ReplyDeleteThiago is not potential, he is currently better than any MF that we have or are linked to . In a couple of years he could be the best in the PL. But I doubt Barca would sell him. And Sanchez is better than all our attackers except Suarez(who looks like he's leaving). But he wouldn't come as well. We have got Aspas though! ;)
ReplyDeletejurys still out on them ........ they will be judged as success or flop based on this season
ReplyDeleteif you see him now you will find him to be an average player
ReplyDeleteah now there is the zanatos we know and love :D
ReplyDeletelets hope :)
ReplyDeletei ruled them out on the basis we would get niether anyway
ReplyDeletevilla as experience and yes if the wages are not to much tello as potential but if we do not have enough potential,by now were screwed
ReplyDeletedo not no about barca but real big big time
ReplyDeletelol;-)
ReplyDeletefair enough. Sanchez is gettable if Suarez is sold. Would be a good replacement.
ReplyDeletechristen tello is an average player!!! he scored 7 goals last season in 22 apps yes which is allright. yes he is 21 and has potential but you are all forgeting how fucking puss la liga is in terms of competition past real, athletico, valencia and if you are pushing the bar servilla... it doesnt even compare to pl. personally i think we should stick with our own players. if we are going to pick up a player i would say deulofeu purely from watching him dribble around defenders as though they were children or villa just as a back up and to fill in the early season with potential sturrage out and suarez ban... (tiago is alright, i rate him but our midfield will be strong enough with the addition of henrikh) but even then that is stretching it. at the moment we have suso, sterling, downing, suarez, sturridge, aspas, courtinho, borini (people are quick to judge but he was out for more than half the season and is a quite promising poacher still) and we are also almost certain to land the wonderful Henrikh Mkhitaryan who dribbles and controls the ball like messi (no hyperbole watch him tear up the champions league this last season)... suso as well is more promising than any of those players to the point of which many have labeled to be one of the future best players in the world. real madrid were on their knees for suso and he declined to stay at the club. you have also seen sterling in action and i wouldn't be exaggerating in saying that 3 defenders would struggle with him. the point of my argument here is that we don't need to waste money just because a player is at barcelona... that doesn't necessarily mean they are a great player and need a large price tag. villa is a great player but has passed his prime struggling with injury and form to get back to his former glory days. alexis has a shitty attitude and just another flairy winger that we dont need the rest is unfulfilled potential. look at dos santos for christ sake he has a fucking 30 mil buy out. honestly barca go fuck yourselves you useless twats. and real madrid offering jose callehon. you think we are fucking stupid jesus. we should be spending our cash on more useful propositions such as defense which BR has shown with potential signing of the widely renown future star papadopulous which has exited many LFC fans. ALSO I DONT THINK I HAVE TO EVEN GO ON ABOUT HOW GOOD COURTINHO IS FOR THOSE WHO THOUGHT I LEFT HIM OUT
ReplyDeleteVielen dank !!
ReplyDeletei think he would want champions league so i doubt it
ReplyDeleteSell Suarez and Carroll, bring in Sanchez, Tello and Mkhitryian. Would have great attacking options then with the three above plus Sturridge, Courtino , Sterling, Borini.
ReplyDeleteBack by popular demand haha
ReplyDeleteFor the right price Villa would be a good buy. However I think Barca want a lot for him. If he was say 8mil then I would take the risk. He might not play every game, but if one of the other strikers are out what a guy to have to step in. There is the chance he does well and plays most games. He is getting older but like you said that don`t mean he is past it. Expereince is also a great asset when sometimes I think it is viewed negative these days. The age which players are deamed past it seems to be getting younger by the year. He clearly isn`t the future of LFC but he can be a part of the present, which all helps us get to where we want to be.
ReplyDeleteKey is the price. For 8mil yes, anything over 10mil then no.
ill upvote u just for effort ^^
ReplyDeletefor 8m ???? only if he agrees to a 50k per week wages .......no point paying 90k + 8m ..........or we could also try asking him from barca on loan .....take one good season out of him
ReplyDeleteWell, he talks too much for one thing... I can't help thinking that if he comes in and does well for the season, he will be off next season to the likes of barca or real... But nevertheless, i will be pleased if he comes in...
ReplyDeleteAlcantara and Sanchez both of them fits the style of play that manager is trying to install. Alcantara i very good playmaker and Sanchez is very fast and very effecting goalscoring right wing a position that he played at Udinese , but if we gring in Alcantara that means that we gonna have to sell someone the likes of Allen Henderson .
ReplyDeleteYep, but I don't like the 14m € they allegedly ask for. To stick with my example of Raúl, Schalke got him on a free transfer. How much should we be willing to pay for a guy who may last two more seasons and might have turned into an injury prone player?
ReplyDeleteWell, I wouldn't put any money on it. It's from the top of my head, too. Could be wrong.
ReplyDeleteMourinho way to stubborn, compared to Rafa? Now, that must be exceptionally stubborn. Rafa already epitomises stubbornness as far as I know.
ReplyDeleteDon't know whether or not he will ruin Chelsea. I actually don't think so. It would be an interesting thing to happen, though, because they have a very strong team down there. My guess would be that they at least challenge for the title next season. I wish we were destroyed like that :-)
And who signs the cheques? My point is, at least Abramovich is not against signing those players.
ReplyDeleteMost of them are shite
ReplyDeleteEven RM had a stronger team mate. But you see JM has a tendency of dividing the locker room. He has an attitude that doesn't get appreciated by the team as a whole.
ReplyDeleteNope, not at all. RA is happy about the team. Check out the van Ginkel guy I posted about. Chelsea is making sure all that is possible to sign that guy.
ReplyDeleteMost top players want to join Barca or Real if the opportunity arises. If we have a player that is interesting either club, then at least we know that player has performed at a high level for our club.
ReplyDeleteMuch better to have a player deliver and move on, than to have somebody fail on the pitch and stick around because we can't get rid of him...
(I'm not saying that I expect Mkhi to fail btw...)
I am Shana, wants to say a big thank you thank you thank you to Dr Ejemen spell for everything To everyone who doesn’t believe in spell, I was one of those ones at first. I wasn’t quite sure if I wanted to do this since I’ve tried others so-called spells casters and they did not work and was a waste of my time and money. However, when I read through the testimonies of other people at this website and after I talked to Dr Ejemen who answered all my questions and was very nice and sincere about everything, I decided to give it a try. I figured it would be my last try to get my guy back. So my story is that I was at my office when the guy I am in love with told me that he wasn’t in love with me and never will be and that he didn’t want to speak or see me again, especially since he was talking to this other girl. When I talked to Dr Ejemen about it, he let me know which spells would be most appropriate for me and I chose the ones that was to get him back to me and stay with me and want to marry me.As soon as he started on the spells, my guy came back into my life! It was a miracle to me and I’m so thankful for that. Things have been going well, and pretty much according to what Dr Ejemen said would happen. He’s always there when you need him,you can contact him via email ejemenspelltemple@live.com
