Loan Threat: Agent warns LFC starlet will decide future 'in two weeks'. Let him go...?

Reds youngster Kristian Adorjan is reportedly being tracked by several Serie A sides at the moment, but his Agent insists that he is ready to make the step-up to the Liverpool first team next season.

Reports in Italy this week claim that Brescia, Siena and Palermo are all interested in signing Adorjan on loan, and when asked yesterday about the 20-year old attacker's future, his agent, Tibor Pataky, said:

"He [Adorjan] is one hundred percent ready to make the step-up to the Liverpool first team.

"For the future, however, the best solution must found.

"In the next two weeks, we'll decide whether he leaves for a one-year loan next season"

Adorjan got his chance to impress Rodgers last summer when he took part in Liverpool's pre-season tour of the USA. He made his debut against Toronto FC in Rodgers’s first game as manager, but he was replaced by Lucas Leiva after only half an hour. The youngster also played against Roma on the tour, but after that, he failed to feature in any further games.

It seems like a shame to send Adorjan out on loan. In his first season at the Academy, the Hungarian attacker grabbed eight goals and 19 assists, and since then, he's progressed well, yet wasn't given a chance in the first team last season, despite being older than Sterling, Suso and Wisdom.

Unfortunately (for him), Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is busy scouring Europe for young attacking talent, which suggests that he doesn't rate Adorjan. If he did, why would he be trying to sign the likes of Luis Alberto, who is the same age, and plays in a similar position?

On the plus side, a loan move to a decent team could be a good move for Adorjan's development, but - like many other Reds youngsters in the past - he could get stuck in loan-hell, and ultimately end up leaving the club.

  1. He's a talented player, but there is just something missing with him that I can't quite put my finger on.

Pacheco was a superior AM imo, and Suso would be better in there now, rather than being shunted around the team. For both the latter two it's a make or break season, and they should be looking at opportunities elsewhere asap if they don't want to see their top flight careers stagnate and come to an end before they've even started

  2. Krisztián Adorján seems to be a bit of a forgotten man at Liverpool. Whenever discussion is about whom of the youngsters we might play upfront if any of our first-teamers is injured/suspended, Yesil and Morgan get mentioned, but Adorján seems to be the unknown entity. From the little I have watched of our reserves, he looks the better overall footballer compared to Morgan.

His agent isn't the one who's calling the shots, though. The club will have to decide whether we are willing to send him out on loan or not. If we do so, it might be a good thing for his development. Robinson had many positives to say about going out on loan. We should rather send him to a Championship side where he gets regular matches than a Serie A side where he sits on the bench. You never know in advance, but maybe a possible deal has to include a clause that allows us to recall him, if he doesn't get enough games.

  3. The MTK Budapest deal is yet another linkup that seems to only benefit one team and that is not us. We've had these deals with Genk, Le Havre, MTK, Crewe, this team in Ghana and a couple others and never got much out of it. Hell, we couldn't even sign Ashton when we wanted to and we missed out on De Bruyne, Benteke, Courtois and Defour at Genk. If we don't know how to benefit from these deals, we should not have them in the first place.

I don't think Rodgers doesnt rate him, he wants to send young players out on loan that's why he buying more players, like Chelsea do, it benefits them in the long run. It be good for his development

  6. Nice to read BR's interview. He mentioned about signing CD, AMC and ST. If we actually do that, I would be very happy.

  8. Loan would be good. Hopefully first team regular in a good footballing team like Swansea.

  9. Where exactly does the agent warn that he may "quit" Anfield?

  10. Adorjan is not a forward though. He's a playmaker, who needs a team built around him... but isn't quite good enough to have a team built around him...

  11. I think the club should let him go on loan, when we're not playing him and if he feels he's ready then let him go for loan and see what he does there. Either way we have a lot of talent in the youth pool of the academy. We can be like CFC and if they turn out to be good as everybody feels then we can let them play for us or sell them if they are not.

  14. Erm, well, but in that case he's a playmaker who plays very far up the pitch. I always thought he is a forward, maybe not a striker. 10 goals and three assists last season would possibly hint that after all he is a forward.
