Over the last week, Liverpool have been linked with several attacking wide players, including Inter Milan's Coutinho, and Sporting Lisbon's Jeffren Suarez, but neither deal seems likely at the moment. With the Tom Ince deal also seemingly dead, the club is looking elsewhere, and the latest name to enter the fray is Bolton winger Lee Chung-Yong.
According to Sky Sports today, the Reds are interested in signing the 24 year old.
"Sky Sports understands that Chung-yong Lee may be the subject of a formal offer from at least one Premier League club before the transfer window closes.
"Liverpool and Stoke City...retain an interest in the wide-man [and] there is every expectation that one of those clubs will make a bid for Chung-yong in the final week of the January window".
Lee - nicknamed the 'Blue Dragon' - was strongly linked with a move to Anfield back in 2010, and at at the time, a spokesperson from TI Sports, Lee's representatives, debunked the interest:
"I never received the offer from Liverpool, there was absolutely no contact. Speculation about the future is not helpful. [The link is] in a word, absurd. Liverpool did not have any discussion".
£5m-rated Lee missed practically the whole of last season with a broken leg, and the end of December 2012, he scored a wonder-goal against Birmingham City, which prompted Bolton boss DOugie Freedman to shower him with praise. He enthused:
"It was a wonderful goal from a wonderful player and he deserves all the credit he gets because he had a horrible injury and he's worked so hard to get back from it".
Lee, who won the December goal of the month award for the strike, added:
"It's a long time since I scored at the Reebok Stadium because of my injury. When I score here it makes me very happy."
A viable back-up option if the Coutinho/Ince deals fall through...?

If he's not lost any of his pace and trickery after that long lay-off, then decent backup at that price. FSG should approve as he can increase shirt sales in Korea. The extra revenue can further allow us to compete with the big guns for bigger signings.
ReplyDeleteanother second rate player
ReplyDeleteGot to agree with Mickey, he's not good enough for LFC. It baffles me where Jaimie gets these stories from at times. I do hope he's not been perusing the pages of the paper that shall forever remain nameless.
ReplyDeletecoutinho looks unlikely lfc have made a final bid of 8 million southampton have agreed to pay milan the 10 million they want, also ince we have offered 4or 5 million swansea have offered 8 million, now chung-yong for 5 million lets offer 2 million and let stoke offer 4million,the sooner financial fair play comes in the better how are we as a club supposed to compete against these mega rich clubs like southampton, swansea, and stoke, carry on fsg i believe in you why should we compete
ReplyDeleteimho you can't go wrong with Germans, South Koreans or Japanese players. Great attitude, don't moan (unless they're Effenberg) and don't think they're the dawgs bubbles when they have a good match. Throw Spearing into the deal for a direct swap and we'll have ourselves a bargain.
ReplyDeleteThis particular one came from Sky Sports. It also says so in the second paragraph :-)
ReplyDeleteHe's not a world beater, but definitely not 2nd rate
ReplyDeleteSorry, are you the same Jason who so often complained about us wasting money on signings?
ReplyDeletePuzzled.
We pay what we think people are worth. Not a penny more.
Lee still recovering from his leg break!
ReplyDeleteAccording to Bwfc he's still not ready to play to games in a week!
So why would LFC bid for him?
Typo ** Two**
ReplyDeleteWas about to say that as well ;0)
ReplyDeleteBill - Don't be daft. Every transfer story I post is attributed and linked, without fail.
ReplyDeleteWe will continue strong while those big clubs will spend their way to administration!
ReplyDeleteNot that I am too interested in this player coming to LFC, but the fact Stoke are also interested leaves me with the conclusion that we will no doubt miss out anyway. We seem unable to complete these rumoured signings if anyone else shows an interest. As I said, I'm not sold on Lee; but I had kind of got my hopes up for the Coutinho deal as I think he could be an amazing player for us. However, with Southampton now apparently meeting the asking price, I fear us missing out again.
ReplyDeleteAgain, no better than the players we already have at the club.
ReplyDeleteJust out of interest. figures released today state that LFC are ninth in the European rich list and fifth in England! (I believe these figures are for all monies generated last year?) If memory serves correct, this season we have competed with one team only who currently sit above us financially, being Arsenal for the Sahin deal, and we know how that turned out! We get told as LFC supporters that we continuously live in the past, thriving off yesteryears' success.... We also seem to be applying the same rules to the mistakes made for overpaying on previous players. But if the released financial figures are to be believed, then we can't be doing too bad financially, surely? Breaks my heart when I hear rumours Suarez could leave for Germany and CL. This would be as a direct result of our dilly dallying in the transfer windows and would inevitably leave a world class club with no world class players in their prime.......
ReplyDeleteif suarez goes then fsg will no what anger is the fans will turn on them big style
ReplyDeleteand thats why we dont get the players unless nobody else comes in for them
ReplyDeleteTrust me I laughed so hard when heard about lee chung yong, this is hilarious, hope its just a media bullsh.ite, is this how the club have become, will chung get us a CL place, please this is so embarrassing, I have no idea whats happening at this club, scandalous.
ReplyDeleteits hardly big money 10and8 million £ signings
ReplyDeleteI agree, however, I'm sure with the 40m sitting in their pockets, (possibly more if a bidding war starts,) then that will go some way to easing their stress of the fans' wrath!
ReplyDeleteoh well 1week to go at least we had a bit of excitement being linked to sniejder and the sturridge signing must say very unthrilled by the transfer window but its about what i expected rodgers will moan about lack of squad after out next defeat, and who,s fault will that be rodger,s or fsgs truth is we will not know because rodgers will say what his puppetmasters tell him too ,come on brendan grow a pair and tell fsg to pull there finger out,and if you don,t do not come out with bull about lack of strenght in the squad it,s what your getting paid handsomely for
ReplyDeleteI think that's unfair. There is nothing to suggest that FSG have been pocketing money. They're in it to make money that's a fact but that's why businessmen invest money. Yes they have tightened the purse strings since last year but if you're honest who would you consider the better buy? A 12 million quid Sturridge or a 35 million quid Carrol? They're not witholding cash for the sake of it or so they can buy a new car, they're doing it for the good of the club. They've learned from last season and they won't allow the club to be held to ransom anymore. Not on transfer fees, not on wages and not on agent fees. You'd think that anyone with any common sense would be happy about that.
ReplyDeleteI do agree that SOME clubs will inevitably overspend in their attempts to survive in this league. But isn't LFC supposed to be a top club challenging for honours? Unfortunately, despite the political correctness, money HAS to be spent to strengthen an already under par squad if certain heights are indeed to be reached.......I know we HAVE spent big in the past and this is the reason we will no longer overpay for players, but we have recouped some of this money and as I stated earlier, apparently we're not doing too bad financially considering our past mistakes. Plus the offset of success would surely make up for the initial loss.
ReplyDeleteIt's fairly simple, to us players like Lee and that giant clumsy Norwegian guy who went to Southampton are squad players and we assess their value as such. For smaller clubs these guys improve their first eleven so they're worth more to them. Everyone complained and cried about missing out on Ramirez (I actually had to check wiki because I already forgot his name) but can you honestly say you'd rather have him in our first team than Sterling? Me personally I couldn't and I think we saved ourselves 11 million quid and a ton in wages.
ReplyDeletei,am sure it will they can always stay in america and sell the clubs silverwear from over there
ReplyDeleteSaurez will be gone in the summer if LFC don't qualify for the CL.
ReplyDeletespearing would be an interesting idea this transfer might have some legs even fsg could not mess a swop deal up god cannot believe were sinking this low for f"ck sake, and like somebody else as pointed out he will sell shirts kerching,i can hear those tills rolling
ReplyDeleteYes but it becomes big when they aren't in the premier anymore. No chance of us ever going down - not even with BR in charge!
ReplyDeleteWe have also been linked with Darikwa from Chesterfield......!
ReplyDeleteWe still have Sturridge.
ReplyDeleteI think fsg are busy with putting together a new bosox squad to be bothered about this transfer window. Maybe in the summer.
ReplyDeleteI still want to subscribe to 'the Brendan plan.' I just can't shake the feeling that FSG are passing on their financial fears to the fans. This window could end in tears if Sturridge remains our only signing as we would have again released more players from an already thin squad than we would have replaced. FSG could go a long way to alleviating said fears with one or two COMPETENT signings. ps, agree; I don't want to hear stories of under strength squads again if we don't actually improve it during this opportunity! pps, I see Man U have more or less done the deal for Zaha...
ReplyDeleteFunny, a lot of LFC fans knew the same thing last year and Suarez is still here.
ReplyDeleteJamie...Lovin the captions! (Back off, man. I'm a scientist)!
ReplyDeleteBill Murray Ghostbusters if I am not mistaken! Classic line!
They won't sell Suarez. There is no rumour Suarez could leave. There is a rumour Bayern would want to buy him. Shock horror, a big club would be interested in buying a fantastic player. I'm pretty sure PSG, Real or Barca wouldn't mind him much either nor would Citeh, Chelski or Manyoo. He's a fantastic player so of course clubs will be interested in him. We sold Torres because he was acting up and disruptive. The only way we would sell Suarez is for that very reason. So yes, if he wants to leave because of CL football and throws a fit we would probably sell him but only for that reason and not for the money. Big clubs don't sell their top players. Not because there are none like them out there, because there always are, but because it would upset the consistency of the team.
ReplyDeletenot if the garanteed i think he would stay if the club looks like its heading in the right direction, thats upto fsg and rodgers to convince him of that, and the players we have been linked to in this transfer window imo will not,if he dos,e go hand on heart i cannot blame him unless we try to compete
ReplyDeleteoh so thats your ambition to stay in the prem wow well thats not good enough for me
ReplyDeleteyes m8 unless he dose well then we can sell him as well
ReplyDeletecan you hear yourselves? Turn the clock back and you'd be saying Ian Rush from Chester, what are we looking at him for? Ray Clemence and Kevin Keegan from Scunthorpe, Rob Jones from Crewe, John Barnes from Watford, John Aldridge from Oxford, Alan Hansen from Partick etc etc. I could go on, but unless it's a big name like Fernando Morientes you're not interested. Coutinho isn't all that yet and would need time to settle into English football. LFC fans wouldn't give him that time
ReplyDeletedifferent kettle of fish a prospect
ReplyDeletef"ck the bosox i dont care about them
ReplyDeleteyes man ure moving further ahead even the top young players we dont get always the second string
ReplyDeleteI understand what you are trying to say and Suarez himself has indeed not mentioned anything other than his passion for Liverpool. But things change very quickly in football. As you say, of course clubs would be interested in him, he's quality. If we fail to get into Europe this season then those said big clubs could test the resolve not only of FSG but the player also, who might, just might, see greener grass elsewhere. It's just a fear I have, nothing more than that...
ReplyDeleteAs you can tel, I'm a big film fan :-)
ReplyDeleteNot for me no. to much money for a back up, and not good enough for first team. Once we have a awesome first team, then back up players at high prices, are fine, until then I would rather see all monies spent on first team players
ReplyDeleteI don't think Suarez will care much about who we are linked to but he will care about who we actually sign. So far, this window, I don't think he will be unhappy.
ReplyDeleteI have the same fear but if he leaves then so be it. I don't want him to but, as with Torres, there are other players out there. When Torres was about to leave all we saw on the net, probably this very site, was Liverpool fans bemoaning the end of world because we could never get someone as good as Torres. Then we signed Suarez who quickly showed us otherwise (even though when we signed him there were a lot of doubts because he came from a mickey mouse league). So even if he leaves, I'm sure he will be replaced by another quality player but for the sake of consistency and just because I like Suarez I hope he doesn't.
ReplyDeleteOk......But those players you mention were coming into Liverpool teams that were rightfully challenging at the time. If they didn't work out immediately, they still had the time on their side. Rushie didn't play a match in his first season for us, followed by seven games the following season. Clemence also didn't do too much at first and did not displace Tommy Lawrence for three seasons. Etc Etc. Can we afford to wait that long. I am just asking for a teeny bit of experienced input into the squad, as I don't believe we are too far off IF we can make a couple of decent signings during this window...
ReplyDeleteI think FSG as well as Rodgers have been very open and clear to the fans in regards to our transfer policy this year. Even before this window, they all said incoming transfers would be minimal. They also said they would address the striker issue and they did so on the second day of the year and window. So far, they're doing exactly what they said they would do. They also said that we would make big strides in the summer window in 2013 so I'm willing to wait and see what happens then. If they put their money where their mouth is, I'll be happy in being justified in my belief in them (FSG) if we get another "edge of your seat" summer I'll be louder than any of ye. Sometimes it just feels like people are so traumatised by the G&H era that they can't see past the passports of our current owners.
ReplyDeleteMan U are no further ahead of us than any other season since we finished second under Benitez.
ReplyDeleteAmen brother
ReplyDeletesorry m8 disagree sturridge by himself is not going to get us champs league
ReplyDeleteMakes sense Eric. Never thought of that to be honest. We could not guarantee Forren 1st team football anyway, however inviting him for a trial is disrespectful.
ReplyDeleteI like to think I have a little common sense and absolutely have no desire to see my club go into administration. I am not hammering FSG for the sake of it, but because I am passionate about my club and wish to live more glory days along with my children, instead of just keep harping on to them about how great we were, only to be told by them how old I am!!! My passion leads to emotion (which is the sole reason I actually follow the sport) and my comments therefore reflect that emotion at times, I do not shy away from that admission. But FSG are not as skint as some people believe as a fair bit of money has come back to them. I cannot keep saying it, but if they have GENUINE ambition for top four and CL then they will HAVE to spend even more. The squad we have at present can absolutely not challenge for top four as it is. This is only my opinion so should hopefully not offend anyone, regardless of whether they have common sense or not; and I can only pray to eat humble pie and be proven wrong. I started the season fully behind FSG but have become a little fearful of their intentions. Is that wrong?
ReplyDeleteTrue.....but as Suarez IS a quality player AND already plays for us, shouldn't we be convincing him we can challenge at the top? I'm not convinced he would be so easily replaced were we to let him go, as they (quality players) are not that easy to come across, especially at the prices we now seem to be touting. As I said earlier, it's just an emotional opinion and I would LOVE IT if I were proven wrong.
ReplyDeletethe points in the league say different
ReplyDeleteI'm not that bothered about missing out on Ramirez, no. And I do agree with your point about some of these guys improving smaller clubs first eleven. But I also believe Coutinho could be absolutely brilliant and do not want to miss out on him. Especially to a 'smaller club'...
ReplyDeleteQuestion.....How many prospects does it take to build a successful PL team?
ReplyDeleteWrong? Who am I to judge? I don't think anyone has said FSG are skint. Not them anyway. They have said all along that we have money if the right player comes along at the right price. It's not because you have a tenner in your pocket that the bakery should ask a tenner for a loaf of bread and you should buy it because you're hungry. They have said the money is there. They have said they will spend it wisely and they have said that this window and last summer's window the budget was tight. Considering the fact that we've still managed to spend 40 million quid when the budget is tight, I can only be excited about what happens when summer comes along.
ReplyDeletereality check y'know mate we're now fighting for players with southampton which is recognised by players as a 'big club' now lol
ReplyDeleteIt's not about STurridge it's about Suarez. He needed a partner who could take the burden off him as well as make him even more efficient and so far it seems like Sturridge is doing that. Goals get wins, wins get points, points get us up the table and going up the table gets us into the Champions League
ReplyDeleteI'm not disagreeing with you. I also think we should do what we can to keep hold of Suarez. The difference is that I think we are and you're not sure that we are.
ReplyDeleteHe's probably not unhappy but I could see his optimism failing as I'm pretty sure he stated recently (in agreement to Stevie and Brendan) that we need some experience and quality sooner rather than later...
ReplyDeleteIt's all a brilliant long term plan JC - extra $$$ means we can truly compete with the other top clubs in the near future. Sign one Korean and one Japanese (what happened to Honda?) and that's quite a bit of extra cash every season they're around.
ReplyDeleteAppreciated my friend. Differences of opinion are what makes the world go round (along with a little bit of finances), and should be encouraged. I don't think we are reading a different book altogether, just seeing it from a different perspective.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you DecDec, but the fascination with foreign players gets me. I mentioned Morientes above, everyone was wetting themselves when we signed this Spanish superstar, turned out he wasn't suited to the premier league at all. I read a blog from somebody who's watched Coutinho at Inter, he said he's got talent, fast and quick feet, but the end product isn't there, very few assists or goals - Stewart Downing anybody? But because he's a foreign player from Inter Milan apparently we should sign him.
ReplyDeleteWe finished 37 points behind Man U last year. Currently we're 22 points behind with 23 games played. If I extrapolate that over 38 games we'll finish 36.347 points behind Man U this season. Ergo, no better or worse than last season.
ReplyDeletelol if only everything was that simple
ReplyDeletei just dont think we will see those extra $$$ going on transfers
ReplyDeleteYou make a very good point...... My problem is the Liverbird was tattooed onto my heart as a very young boy growing up in the 70's (yes, I AM that old!). As an adult, the tattoos made their way externally and ALL represent my love for this great club. My children buy me ANYTHING related to LFC. (you would not believe the amount of plastic LFC merchandise I have accrued over the past years! key rings, bubble gum machines, etc :-) )This makes it ridiculously difficult to see them struggle and my desire to see them succeed is not good for the stress of an old man's heart! It will all be worth it when we finally do come good, but as I'm hopeful you will agree, some of us older members would like it to be right now. (unrealistic? absolutely...wrong to dream of? not a chance.)
ReplyDeleteagree m8 i,am sick of signing prospects but it looks like it,s that or nothing
ReplyDeleteno carling cup no fa cup final
ReplyDeleteagree with what you say but barnes and aldridge were big money signings in there day and all the top clubs were after them the others were spotted in the lower leagues buy our scouts who used to do there jobs, not like the ones we seem to have now,i think a lot of it is down to lazyness if the kids are not at a big club by the time there 15 the scouts seem to think there not worth looking at
ReplyDeletethey must be something because players prefere them to us
ReplyDeleteThat is so very true.... We have though, now managed to get a decent amount of British players to the club and we have a few coming up through the ranks. We will no doubt continue to add even more youthful talents from these shores to the first team squad and youth teams; so I do not see an issue there. Coutinho though, looks like a player to me who could have Liverpool quality running through him and definitely excites me. I would not get on his back if he did come and not perform brilliantly this season. But I would still have the belief for next season.... He COULD fail and make my words hollow, but he could do everything I believe he could and then, well, just 'wow!'......
ReplyDeleteYup. Standard Charted has been putting pressure on the club to sign an Asian player since the sponsorship, They are huge in Asia.
ReplyDeleteI hope if we make a move it is for footballing reasons and not just for .marketing and merchandising.
I would prefer a Honda.
That about sums up what I had to say about this rumour.
ReplyDeleteRight, here's one for you then. Without looking it up somewhere on the web (like at the IMDB), do you know from which film this quote is:
ReplyDeleteCredit cards work on a completely different kind of lock.
Exactly. I've been wondering where Southampton have all that money from, while the OriginalChan wondered how Stoke are the third highest (net?) spenders over the past five years.
ReplyDeletePlus, maybe they put some money asside for the stadium.
ReplyDeleteWhich is absolutely true
ReplyDeleteYou talk a lot of sense, Eric!
ReplyDeleteHaha nit picker :-) No FA Cup final....yet :-) Who cares about the milk cup anyways..
ReplyDeleteIt broke my heart when Ian Rush left for Juve and I thought the end was nigh. A look in he clubs history books will show everybody what actually happened, and it wasn't the end of our club, or our success. I've learned a lot from that experience.
ReplyDeleteTrue. As far as I know that particular rumour first appeared on the Daily Star. Make of that what you want.
ReplyDeleteYou can't be that old to be honest, if you started supporting in the 70's. 10 years older than me, at best.
ReplyDeleteI've used about the same argument the other day and got told that nowadays it isn't like that anymore, from people who didn't look up where Man Citeh bought Joe Hart from.
ReplyDeleteNo it is not wrong. We all fear that without proper investment in quality players we will struggle. I fear we will further fall as no player will want to come to Liverpool. Rebuilding BS is all good. In three years time we could be rebuilding in the championship.
ReplyDeleteLiverpool fans were very divided about Aldridge and some, if not many, thought that he wasn't good enough and could never fill the void that Rush left behind.
ReplyDeleteWe (bolton) don't want Spearing he isn't as good as Holden or Mark Davies. Spearing might make some great crunching tackles and is a bit like a young Danny Murphy but you can have him back in May. I would rather keep Chungy.
ReplyDeleteAnd I honestly say, I hope you are right.....Btw, you should never pay £10 for a loaf of bread, even when you are starving, but should maybe offer £5, otherwise someone else will grab it and you'll end up dead from starvation....
ReplyDeleteHardly disrespectful. We are going to pay loads of money. I would like to suss the merchandise upfront.
ReplyDeleteThis is not tennis. Football is a team sport. An individual player can make a difference given the team and it's dynamics.
ReplyDeleteJust trying to lighten things a little mate. I started supporting LFC as a six year old in 1974, all because my mum 'liked' Kevin Keegan. It grew from there and here I am. Sometimes I just feel that when an opinion is not shared by someone else, then that disagreement CAN sometimes be misinterpreted and indeed sometimes seen as an insult. I have an old school mindset, and believe differences are to be encouraged, not jumped on or ridiculed......It can just get a little negatively deep at times. Why have debate if someone must always be wrong? The good thing with opinion is both can be right.....
ReplyDeleteSorry, didn't mean to waste your time. Not too many people know that film. Thought it was a nice question for a "big film fan".
ReplyDeletethe difference is that every penny we made of rush was immediatley spent on players and then some more
ReplyDeletelook your keeping him end off
ReplyDeleteyet i hope your right we will see
ReplyDeleteWhat difference? Last time we sold a player for big money (50m), we've spent more money in the same week (60m). Again, what difference? I can't see it.
ReplyDeleteHe has the skill and the tools. he is just 20. If given the guidance and the right coaching he could become a star player for us. For the the asking price it is worth a shot.
ReplyDeletewhy you keep replying
ReplyDeletethats how we used to do it and man ure do it now one or two decnt players as and when required but at the moment we require 5or 6 pronto
ReplyDeleteYou are not old at all, as you are only a few years older than me (and I want to consider myself as old).
ReplyDeleteMy dad convinced me to eat (and like) baked beans with a picture of Kevin Keegan on one of the cans.
I don't get the "both can be right" part to be honest. I A says that Rodgers is the wrong manager for us, and B says that he is the right one, how can both be right?
There is nothing wrong with people disagreeing, but I usually want to know the reasons behind strong opinions someone holds. At times those reasons are so flawed that, well, the resulting opinion doesn't exactly sound right.
Ah, again I failed to get it. No surprise triple nine won't accept my application for membership.
ReplyDeleteIt's from a film I've never watched.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry...I always read this site and normally I feel that I will just leave the commenting to the peeps who have opinions. However, I have had enough of some of the ridiculous things that people seem to suggest, and feel that they need to be debunked. The first point really applies to Toon fans but the sentiments shown by them are often shared by certain people on this blog....FSG like Mike Ashley do not 'pocket' profit. That would be idiotic. Capitalism works because people use their money to do stuff, i.e. invest, otherwise the system wouldn't work and your 'pocketed' cash would become worthless very quickly. Basic Economics! Owners like FSG and Ashley may be worth huge amounts of money but they will never have much (relative) cash.
ReplyDeleteSecondly, people like FSG and Ashley are the best sorts of owners that any football club could hope for. No matter what happens to the Liverpool team on the field if the club is well run and does not saddle itself with huge mental debts that mean we need the Champions League to avoid administration (Hicks and Gillet), there will always be a wonderful historic football club to support.....Leeds...Rangers...Inter? You aint never too big for fianacial collapse.
As I said, "both can be right", who is to say A or B is right or wrong until said issue has happened, then it becomes hindsight and no longer opinion. Wanting to know the reasons behind someone else's opinion is the reason we all write on these sights. We are social animals and have this programmed into us genetically. Those reasons that seem flawed to one person can make total sense to another. The only time it becomes flawed is when we are dealing with facts, not opinion. If my 'opinion' was that Paisley was shite, I would expect to get slaughtered, the FACT that he wasn't would make my opinion ridiculous, no? Again, (no pun intended) this is just MY opinion and can be agreed with or not. there is always a choice. btw, it's my kids keep telling me how old I am that makes me sometimes feel it :-)
ReplyDeleteThought we were discussing a situation and I would find it extremely impolite of myself if I simply ran away.
ReplyDeleteFurthermore you are publishing comments on a public forum. Anyone who wishes, or who wishes to know the reasoning behind your opinions, is free to reply, right.
Promise of regular first team action, perhaps.
ReplyDeleteyes but do not be offended when i dont reply
ReplyDeleteThat's a good thing. Given how some of our fans get on the back of players very quickly, paying more than the actual value for a player is a bad thing. Imagine we pay 10m for a player worth 5m. He'd play like a player worth 5m and some people would instantly slate him, FSG and the manager for signing him.
ReplyDeleteOffended, no. Sad, finding it impolite, and I may start thinking that there is no reasoning behind the, at times, very strong statements you post, yes.
ReplyDeletei reply to ever post good or bad but you just try to pick fault in every post i make ,when you could vote a post down you did it on everyone even if it was posotive ,thats why i do not reply no more i say what i honestly think were you imo just try to be popular and if that means backstabbing so be it well find someone else to try and educate because i really don,t give a sh1t what you or anyone else thinks i will be me not one of the sheep
ReplyDeleteto sort the stray dog problem in the anfield area!
ReplyDeleteant tell me u still dont wear brut !
ReplyDeleteThanks very much for this rather philosophical (which I think is a good thing) reply!
ReplyDeleteYour kids. Well, then maybe I can count myself lucky that I don't have any as there's no-one who's telling me that I am old. :-)
off topic jas.new scotland manager gordon strachan says he is already preparing for the 2014 world cup. he has bought himself a new telly
ReplyDeleteDid Keegan appear in ads for them, too? Didn't know that. Well, back then my dad only wanted me to eat those damn beans ("look, Kevin Keegan's eating them, too", not to cover myself in some fragrance.
ReplyDeletelol you could say the same about next years champions league and us
ReplyDeleteguess it was hannibal lecture
ReplyDeletelol some of the comments here are ridiculous lol lol
ReplyDeleteDecent player and would have said buy if it werent for his horrible injury
Always rated him and his 40yard dribble against us was class
Wrong. An example: I've made the suggestion that you could install a spell checker twice or three times, but stopped it and don't "pick fault" in/on your typos anymore. I actually didn't suggest that to offend you, but to support you (I can't find a more fitting word than "support", sorry). My intentions were good.
ReplyDeleteSometimes, if what you write makes sense to me, I vote your comment up (click "like"). Why would I do that with a comment I didn't agree with?
I don't try to be popular, I try to speak my mind. When I started posting on here, many years ago, what I had to say was very unpopular (I had long lost faith in Rafa). To be honest, you make very strong accusations, which I believe are wrong.
Who am I back-stabbing?
And when I ask you for the reasoning behind one of your, at times, strong opinions, I really would like to know the answer. You know, back when Houllier was our manager I probably was one of very few who still backed him, while the majority had turned against him. At some point I changed my opinion, not because someone wrote that Houllier was sh1te, or had lost it, or any other rather derogatory comment, but because someone explained the thinking behind it, gave comprehensible reasons. That is why I would like to hear the reasons behind strong statements, that, at first, seem way over the top or plainly wrong to me at first.
Now, you obviously don't want to give those reasons, it's your choice. You gave at least a hint yesterday for why you are so much against Rodgers when you wrote how you thought that Kenny would have pushed us upwards this season.
Are sheep those who explain their opinion, who give reason behind their thinking? Or are sheep those who simply rant?
Still no reply after three hours? Primer
ReplyDeleteSorry Jason, but at times you chose not to reply and I start thinking that if you would, you'd have to admit that you were wrong.
ReplyDeleteAnd how do we pay for those 5 or 6 decent players? I, too, would like to see us at the top of the (top tier) table again as soon as possible, but we just don't generate enough money to spend 100m+ at once on reinforcements.
ReplyDeleteNo need to be sorry about a well balanced and thought-out comment.
ReplyDeleteLee would be an excellent signing.
ReplyDeleteBlackpool have an option of extending Ince's contract by 12 months in the summer, so no pressure to sell, I have been told.
If Coutinho bid from LFC is real, and we are somehow gazumped by Southampton so be it.
It's an amazing film. I've seen it about 5 times and still can't figure it out 100%. Only cost $7000 to make as well.
ReplyDeleteWHAT A BUNCH OF MINDLESS IDIOTS,NOT ONE PERSON ON HERE KNOWS WHAT THE FUCK THERE TALKING ABOUT, GET A LIFE.
ReplyDelete$7000, now that is cheap.
ReplyDeleteSomehow I've avoided this film, but, well, maybe I should watch it. Worst case would be that I find out that we don't like the same kind of films.
A quote from my favourite film is this one (and you surely know it): I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick a$$... and I'm all out of bubblegum.
They Live :-)
ReplyDeleteA classic. I love John Carpenter's stuff from the 70s, and 80s. A couple of months ago, the Prince Charles cinema in London had an all night Carpenter marathon, and the line up was: Halloween, Big Trouble in Little China, Escape From New York, The Thing, The Fog, and They Live.
Needless to say, it was absolutely fantastic!
"It was absolutely fantastic!" You start sounding a bit like our manager. :-)
ReplyDeleteAh well, you obviously have access to better cinemas than I do. But then, I wouldn't last a night watching six films. Escape From New York, also one I like a lot. Bought Dark Star for a Euro last year. Pretty low budget, but interesting nevertheless.
ant dont dare call brut some fragrance . many girls knickers ended up round their ankles in the 70s after a waft of brut got nostrils flaring!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe conversation was appreciated and I look forward to more. My kids....they are lovely :-)
ReplyDeleteNowthatwas f...... funny!!!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteI do applaud your emotional honesty Jason. Bravo son, bravo.......
ReplyDeleteI particularly like the you being you bit and not one of the sheep....
ReplyDeleteI think sheep can be anything you want them to be. If half the fans think FSG are rubbish does anyone that agrees become a sheep? Or vice versa?
ReplyDeletecheers m8
ReplyDeleteHow would I know something like that? In the 70s I didn't care about girls knickers at all. Out of interest, does that still work. If so, I am off buying some Brut.
ReplyDeleteJason brought up the sheep, implying that I am one, or rather that he isn't one.
