Bad news! JR claims Real Madrid have 'made contact' with LFC star's Agent...

In an interview last week with Spanish newspaper Marca, Liverpool starlet Suso admitted that he is a Real Madrid fan, and that he's supported Los Blancos since he was a child. With that in mind, I'm sure many Reds fans secretly fear that the 18-year will eventually move to the Bernebeau, but realistically, that won't happen for a few years yet. Or will it? According to reports in Portugal, Real Madrid have made contact with the Spaniard's Agent in a bid to negotiate a deal for next summer.

Suso's current contract expires in 2013, and in a press conference today, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers confirmed that the club is exploring the possibility of extending the midfielder's current deal.

Liverpool better get on with it because according to Portuguese newspaper Jornal Record, Madrid are already making their move. The report states:

"Real Madrid plan intend to push ahead with their plan to sign Suso, especially after his recent performances against Manchester United, West Brom and Norwich.

"Representatives from Real have already made contact with Suso's Agent Dani Rodríguez, who is interested discussing a deal, with a view to arranging a move for next season".

In the aforementioned Marca interview, Suso insisted that he is 'very happy in England', and he has 'no intention of returning to Spain', but given the fact he's a self-confessed Real Madrid fan, the opportunity to play for the club he's loved since childhood may be too enticing to ignore.

If Suso's current deal expires in June 2013, then he will be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club in January.

Get a move on, Liverpool! Get Suso signed up to a new deal ASAP.

  1. Like he said... He happy here.... He got friends and he got into first team why would he want to go Real Madrid and warm the bench?:) he wouldn't so it's all good... Plus when he older we can ask for a bigger fee than what they paid for modric. :)

  2. Who in the Madrid team will he replace? A star in the making, he has much more opportunity staying where he is....

  3. FSG would accept £80M for him.

  4. When he joined LFC he turned down offers from Real, Barce, Valencia and Ath Madrid, he may be a Real fan but he won't go there to warm the bench just look at what happened to Granero now playing at QPR.

I think he will sign a new deal then maybe in a few years time once he's been in LFC first team playing regularly he may get his dream move or maybe not.

  5. For 80 million, I'd sell him. Star or not. You could get two quality defenders a semi-decent mid, and a striker for that.

That said, I'd rather keep him for a while and see how his skills grow.

  6. He only needs to ask Sahin how difficult it is to break into the RM first team...

  7. Leave it up to Ian Ayre he will sort it out...

  8. prob just agent drumming up a new contract. fair play though, he is quality and deserves it. even if he does decide to go at least we can get a good price for him once a new contract. also, fair play to those that have brought in our current crop of youngsters, most of them look like real talents.

  12. Granero left Real to join Getafe on a transfer (after a loan spell) and than returned back to Real on a transfer, despite the chances of regular first team chances being slim. A kinda similar story with Callejon too currently as well as past players De La Red (although his return had unfortunate ending) and City's Javi Garcia. All left Real on transfers eventually, were first XI players for their respective clubs and returned to Real as squad players, despite the chances of regular first team football being slim. Yep, all I think were Real youth players but I think that is a moot factor maybe here with Suso, as the draw of going to Real is strong for any Spanish players, let alone a former Real player. The power of money and Real has its lure especially to a Spanish player, regardless of the slim chances of regular football. In this day and age, I wouldn't put it past any player to go from a club where they have good chances of first team football to a club where first teams chances will be hard to come by. I think Suso will stay here but this is Real we are talking about here, big money too and he is a Spaniard, so it is understandable if he wanted to go there, even if first team football would be hard to come by.

  13. I think it depends on how LFC performs in all aspects of the game. If we continue to be 7th, 8th or even worse in the league, then we are expected to be a selling club. Not only Suso will be on the list, players like Suarez and Raheem Sterling will attract the big clubs.

For now, we have to see if BR can perform some Wenger tricks by turning youngsters into world class superstars. If he manages to do it on a regular basis, there will be no problem in selling these players. He can always groom other players as replacements. It's always up to the manager to dictate the direction the club is moving, never the players. What we need is a great manager that can do it, someone in the mold of Arsene Wenger.

  14. Let's just hope he doesn't change Liverpool into a selling club just like Wenger did to Arsenal.

  15. I don't want us to look for "bigger fee". I want him and Sterling here for long time. They will be great players and we need them to win us PL.

Liverpool is not selling club ! But we were forced to sell in recent past do to circumstances . That will be over now and players will want to stay and win things with us.

  16. Ever wonder why almost every negative headline (either spouting stuff this this blog, or something against a current player) comes from liverpool-kop.com?

Over the last week I have been tracking this, just because I thought I saw a pattern, and lo and behold, it is true.

I would encourage all of you to just observe the news flow and judge for yourself.

  17. Remember people. We must sell to buy. But Suso must be kept at all costs.
Bad news that Cole is up and running. I hope Buck Rodgers does not interrupt the tempo of the young lads by bringing him on.

  18. Not gonna happen. Chill out everyone. Not only has Brendon given him an opportunity to play for the most successful English club in Europe, he also knows that he is an integral part of Brendons and Liverpool's plans for the future. Also special mention to Rafa. He is the future of this great club, as is Sterling, Wisdom, and the mighty Luis Suarez .

  19. He should ask Xabi Alonso about moving to RM or staying at LFC.

  20. will everyone just stop replying to the crap that is posted on here

  21. Agents are bl**dy monsters. As soon as a manager gives some youngster a chance in first team. Here comes agent with some offer from other club. Either give him a new contract with money more than a player deserves or he is leaving.

These agents are ruining the careers of young players. Managers are scared of giving young players a chance in first team. As soon as they play with big boys, they want money as much as first team player.

First prove yourself and establish yourself in first team, then ask for new contract. But NO...give more money NOW, or I am leaving ..............

  22. I think it's a Manc site. All the Suarez haters just blow wind up each others backsides. If you don't tow the line then see ya.

  23. His contract is expiring next season..So, there is no way LFC can demand a lavish mnoney for him until he signs a new deal....I think it would highly possible RM will buy him and loan him back to LFC for couple of years to develope with Nuri Sahin.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Surely Suso must know he wont't get barely any playing time at Real Madrid? Real will probably loan him to Getafe or something like that.

    BR sing him up asap!!!!!!!!

  25. no one but no one is bigger than the club

    ReplyDelete
  26. I cannot see him moving to Real Madrid at the moment, he is young and getting first team chances at Liverpool something he will not get a Real Madrid. Just look at Sahin who is a few years more advanced than Suso and he still is getting loaned out and not considered for the first team.

I fully expect that Suso will sign a 5 year deal at the club, when Suso gets to 24-25 that is when he will make his move to Madrid if its going to happen and it will be for a big fee.

  27. they will stay...all who played for us recognized that Liverpool tradition, Anfield is a special special place and the fans r the best!!! They know they can't get it somewhere else. Plus, which other top teams would dare to play some teenagers in their first team!! Only here baby!! YNWA

  28. This is what kenny would do. BR shows no interest in reputations when picking the team.

Re suso, I'm afraid unless we turn into world beaters, he'll leave eventually but now would be stupid. He's developing nicely and can play first team football. At real he'd rot in the reserves. Though this is still part of the Real tapping up machine which is endorsed by UEFA. Keep him bubbling until they make their move in the future.

Suso will be signing a new contract very soon so no need to worry!

  31. What you failed to mention was Madrid activated buy back clauses in all of those deals you mentioned and the players had no say in the matter

    ReplyDelete
  32. Just reading this comment, seems you've got it wrong about Suso, he may support Real, but he isn't a former player of Real, he turned down Real to join us, he is a youth product of his home town club, Cadiz

    ReplyDelete
  33. To be fair, Sahin was injured for a good part of last season including the start of the season

    ReplyDelete
  34. First of all its 'Brendan', and secondly why labour the point of saying your the most successful english club in europe, when liverpool are currently in a 2nd tier european competition??

    ReplyDelete
  35. Sorry for the confusion but I didn't say Suso was a Real youth player nor did I mean to. I tried to make that point by saying:

'Yep, all I think were Real youth players but I think that is a MOOT FACTOR maybe here with Suso, as the draw of going to Real is strong for any SPANISH players, LET ALONE a former Real player.'

But I do apologise if it wasn't well put.

  36. Yes, Real had buy-back clauses but that doesn't mean the player can not reject the move. What happens with any transfer or loan move, when the player rejects the contract/terms? It fails, regardless of whether the two clubs have agreed a fee. It takes three parties to agree to a move, the selling club, the buying club and the player. A buy-back clause does not include contract terms.

  37. completly agree with you jaimie get him signed up now then when the vultures come calling at least we will have some bargaining power

  38. Seriously, a 20M bid would be accepted. I think 15 too. I can't understand this kind of comments.

  39. hehe yeah I personally dont mind Suso and of course Sahin to come back to Real Madrid. There's no guarantee they will be a squad player, if they come good, Im sure Mourinho will play them :) Hail Madrid. To top it off, why not Suarez too since he's becoming prolific.

  40. at 17 in RM, he would not even make the bench. So it's silly for him to move now that he has got himself into the first 11. Every young player now believes that they can play at LFC if they are good enough.

  41. i'm tired of hearing cries of fear over a loss of any given player. New era new style of football with less dependence of one or two players. If players don't belive in our cause let them go, if they get greedy without performing consistensly for a couple of years, then fine by me. They should see that becoming a Liverpool legend, is far more rewarding than 1 mill. pound per week. What they do in life echoes in eternity !
