LFC 'send scouts' to watch exciting €5m goalscorer. Imminent deal...?

Liverpool have sent scouts to assess Argentinian striker Luciano Vietto, an 18-year old striker who currently plays for Racing Club in the Argentine Apertura.

Juventus are also reportedly watching the 18-year old, who scored a fabled 'perfect' hat-trick - left foot, right foot and header - against Club Atletico San Martinu in a league game earlier this month.

His name would seem to suggest Italian ancestry, which could possibly give Juventus the upper hand, but Liverpool have a strong South American contingent at the club, which could be an attraction if/when negotiations begin.

Having said that, the presence of Luis Suarez, Sebastian Coates and Lucas Leiva didn't seem to help in the pursuit of Gaston Ramirez, so perhaps that's wishful thinking (!)

Vietto has made only six senior appearances for Racing Club, and all three of his goals came in one game. What about the other five games? It seems a tad premature to send scouts to watch a player who's scored in only one game out of five, but perhaps he has an outstanding youth record, like recent signing Samed Yesil...?

Impressive hat-trick though...

  1. Hmmmm... I guess there's no harm in having a look at the boy.

  2. No Kanwar, No. We have Yesil and Morgan. That will do.

  3. Did I say we should sign him? In fact, I suggested the opposite. Why don't you learn to read and comprehend things properly?

  4. but what does steve nicol think?

  7. I'll ask him, and post the response later.

  8. We need a striker now, not in 5 years time. It'll be too late then.

  9. Don't rest your hopes on Morgan . Did you see the gulf in class between him and Yesil , last week when they were on the pitch at the same time? Big difference.

  10. What if he is better than both Yesil and Morgan? You should always try to improve if you want to get better and thats what Liverpool FC need to do.

  11. jaime firstly great post yesterday on a great day back to the post on now £5million he would want 4 year contract maybe 5thousand a week some lay out you would probably have to sell him for £10million to break even not good buisness by my reckoning

  12. Dont think he is needed, we just signed a younster and have a couple more coming through. I would rather see a slightly more established player come in.

  13. What about Texiera. Isn't he another young striker with big raps ? Where's he at in his development ?

  14. SAF has worked his black magic again and injured Teixera

  15. He'd be well worth adding to the academy. He could alternate with Yesil every other week so a not to over use them. Pipe dreams I suppose.

  16. The valuation of the lad is quite steep. 4m Pounds or 5m Euros for a lad that has six games to his name. He shone in one of those six. He may become a world-beater, but if any deal for him is done, I'd rather pay 1m up-front and an extra 5m as soon as he's played 100 league games for us.

  17. He has a shot, n nice technique so why not pay little n get him nw rather then wait 6 years n pay six times the amount. He must have something if he is playing for racing at the age of 18

  24. very true that ladd. under estimate yesil at ones own peril. he will be scoring for the first team this season.
morgan is a pup, and imo wont make the grade.
coady is the one im most worried about at youth level, he just doesn't seem to be coming on much lately.

  25. attacking MF, and came with an injury that he has not recovered from.

  26. Good Hatrick...evaluate over time to see if he worth that 5 mill... if he was to be bought his week, bargaining would be a better option.

Keen on Samed Yesil... bench appearance against sunderland? 60th minute sub if nothings happening? or perhaps just start him and put suarez on the right, raheem on the left?

Adam Morgan can step it up...

  27. Jamie, question for you
What are your thoughts concerning the whole ' being Liverpool ' thing.
Do you think it's appropriate to open the secrets of the club in this way?
I saw a trailer when Brendan was being kinda rude to Raheem.

  28. Yesil will be a very good player and i do believe he could star up front given time to settle in and develop.
I doubt young Morgan will make it i think Ngoo maybe an option also i say this i dont know enough about Vietto to say yes or no but if Juventus are seriously sniffing around he may just be the real deal.

  29. Did you see the "Georgia - Spain" European Qualifying game on Nicols ESPN the other night, ha ha ha,, they were saying it was a great performance from Georgia, as it is not known as a good USA state for soccer, TRUE, I kid you not.

  30. My Anger at FSG has tempered somewhat now, so I wont launch a tirade of abuse at them, but FSG have FULL EDITING rights to the series, so forget about it being an objective view of being Liverpool, the Dalglish meeting, Dempsey saga, etc etc, we wont get to see those scenes, inviting Martinez to take the job, etc etc.
I will probably look at it, during the Ad breaks while watching Coronation Street,

  31. dont right off adam morgan just yet, you cant judge him on one game wide left and a shoddy england kids getting beat by german kids. morgan is a beast of a finisher with the nack of being in the right place. a bit of time and experience(probably best on loan, but right now that aint an option) and the kid could become a real asset for us. no doubt yesil looks boss aswell, but having two doesnt mean we shouldn't buy a third. buy them, develop them, rate them, sell the worst for a tidy profit. happy daze.

  32. yeah juve certainly can spot talent...hold on they signed bendtner on loan in the summer? oh my mistake.

  33. My oath Juve can spot talent look at their performance last season pretty damn good and did it cheap.

  35. "His name would seem to suggest Italian ancestry." As is every second name in Argentina - do your homework, numpty.

  36. Any chance you might show a bit of respect for what's going on at the moment and lay off the shite money-grabbing headlines for a few days?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Clearly not a believer in 'free speech' are you Jaimie? Not when it interferes with your money-making operation here. What happened? You figured you could make some money out of Liverpool fans following your employment by H&G?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Surprisingly that comment seems to have been published! The original one was a question as to why you're using dreadful headlines in what can only be described as an attempt to make money, especially given what's currently going on at the club?

    ReplyDelete
  39. The question was why are you trying to make money out of Liverpool fans given what's currently going on at the club? Have you got the balls to publish this or give an answer Jaimie?

  40. there is virtually nothing wrong in recruiting young talents but no team could be a title contender with high % of youth players, quality proven and matured players are inevitably needed in a team that want success now and in future, look at what happened when Paul Scholes came in as sub against southamption,he changed things with his xteristc long passes, and manU won a game that almost ended draw or even loss for man U,so we shuld be careful about the incresing volume of too young players.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Thats right we must not despise experience.
The owners have left the club and the fans desperate...there are not too many option on the bench hence we are now talking about under 19 players as options before they fully develop. All other teams such as ManU have youth players in the mold of Yemil/Morgan etc who are being still developed and not considered as options yet, because their benches are rich with talent.
    Poor Liverpool, Poor dear Liverpool!!!!

  42. Well how about the Sundaland game, how do you guys feel .... our first win on the way??

The team on paper is not that bad, yes we need strikers but we have people that can score goals Gerard, Suarez, Sterling, Shelvey, Borini etc...not prolific but they can score...something just need to spark and make it happen for us!

    ReplyDelete
  43. We need two very good play makers who can organise, plan and score.

It is fundamental all players are 120 minutes fit to play any match , they should be physically top and then the technic will come automatically .... i'm myself playing football i know about physical demand...............
