Contact Made: Liverpool make enquiry to sign 'excellent' €24m Madrid sensation with 'power' and 'pace'

It's becoming a cliche now, but left-back is a priority position for Liverpool to fill this summer, and new reports today suggest that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has a potential solution in mind.

According to a report on Spanish radio network Cadena Ser:

"Atletico Madrid star Theo Hernandez is wanted by the greats of Europe, and clubs like Man City, Liverpool, Marseille, and Real have already asked about signing him".

In a recent interview, Hernandez insisted that he's only focused on a return to Atletico this summer:

"In the summer I will return to Atletico. I watch all their games, and now in June I will be returning there. I am very happy and motivated for that."

Some info about 'excellent' Hernandez:

* 19-year old Atletico Madrid left-back. Currently on loan at Alaves. £21m buyout clause.

* 28 apps for Alaves this season (4 assists). No senior apps for Atletico.

* 16 apps for various France youth teams.

* Jan 2017: Diego Simeone enthused: "Theo has grown accordingly. Power, physical strength, changing pace from midfield looking forward. We are happy about what is happening to him."

Meh. Another overprice teenager who may or may not come good in 3-4 years. No thanks. Maybe it's just me, but I'm so sick of the 'buy em young' policy. Where has that got Liverpool over the last five years? Absolutely nowhere.
