Anfield-bound? Liverpool make stunning €6m-a-year offer for 'outstanding' star who rejected Man Utd

The search for a new left-back continues apace, and with Ryan Sessegnon and Theo Hernandez reportedly on Jurgen Klopp's radar, Liverpool are once again being linked with one of Europe's most coveted full-backs.

Liverpool have been linked with Schalke star Sead Kolasinac several times this season, and according to German newspaper Bild this week:

"AC Milan, Inter, Juve, Roma, Man City, Arsenal, and Liverpool have all made €6m-a year salary offers for Schalke star Sead Kolasinac".

Liverpool reportedly held talks with Kolasinac during the January transfer window, and since then, interest in the Bosnian appears to have exponentially increased.

Some info about Kolasinac, hailed as 'outstanding' by ex-Schalke boss Jens Keller:

* Left-back, who can also play as a DM, and a centre-back. Played alongside Liverpool defender Joel Matip at Schalke.

* Apr 2014: Kolasinac admitted that he he had an 'offer from Man Utd' (which he rejected).

* Apr 2016: Talksport claimed: "Kolasinac has been watched by Liverpool and an offer is expected".

Klopp is well aware of Kolasinac from his Bundesliga days, and after playing alongside Joel Matip for 4 years, a transfer appears to make sense. It's also not beyond realm of possibility that Matip has recommended Kolasinac to Liverpool.

Schalke lost millions by allowing Matip to leave for free last summer, and the club clearly hasn't learned its lesson. Kolasinac's contract expires this summer, which means he'll be able to leave for free, just like Matip.

Is history about to repeat itself for Liverpool?
