Confirmed: 'Superb' €34m Liverpool star suffered 'very painful' injury but will start vs. Spurs

One of Liverpool's senior players has confirmed that he is now injury free after a recent spell on the sidelines.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo today, Clyne claimed that he's now 'fully recovered', and outlined the details of his injury:

“I tore a muscle in between my ribs. I got a kick and it was very painful when I tried to run. If I’ve got a knock or a strain I’ll play with it because I enjoy playing so much and want to contribute so sitting out a few games was tough.”

Clyne is one of Liverpool's most robust players, and including time spent on the sidelines for the rib injury, the 25-year old has missed only 7 games through injury for his entire career. In that respect, Clyne is very similar to James Milner, another incredibly robust Reds player (one of the few!) who has missed only 11 games through injury in the last 8 years.

In the same interview, Clyne also suggested that Liverpool's players need to improve their 'attitude' when facing the so-called lesser sides. He explained:

“Against the big teams we’ve been right up for it but you have to have that same attitude and approach every week. Hull have to be treated like they are Chelsea".

Complacency is a killer, and this 'attitude' issue to which Clyne refers has basically killed Liverpool's season. Well, Klopp's leaderless, grossly overpaid players need a quick attitude adjustment, starting with Spurs this Saturday.

* Clyne: €34m-rated. Described as 'superb' by John Aldridge
