Aldo raves: Powerhouse €28m Liverpool star was 'superb' against Swansea. Man of the Match?

After Liverpool's victory over Swansea, Reds fans (via the club's website) selected Roberto Firmino as 'man of the match', but Anfield legend John Aldridge suggests that one of the club's defenders is equally deserving of the award.

After the 2-1 win at the Liberty Stadium, Aldo raved:

"First half was one to forget. Excellent character shown in the 2nd half. [Nathaniel] Clyne was superb".

Clyne had a shaky start to the season, and along with Alberto Moreno, he appeared to be a defensive weak link for Jurgen Klopp's team. However, over the last 4-5 games, Clyne has upped his game, and his consistency has mirrored Liverpool's improving fortunes in the Premier.

With Milner and Clyne, Liverpool appear to be well covered in the full-back positions, but Klopp shouldn't rest on those laurels; Liverpool still lack quality cover in those positions, and a new left-back and/or right back should still be a transfer priority.

Luckily, both Milner and Clyne are incredibly robust players, and are rarely injured long enough for the lack of cover to become an issue. Clyne, for instance, hasn't been injured since December 2013, and with no European football this season, he'll be (comparatively) fresh throughout the year.

Is Clyne the long-term solution at right back?
