After the Bournemouth debacle, do Liverpool need to sign a new goalkeeper?
Ex-Leicester City star Robbie Savage seems to think so, and after Sunday's game, the Welshman joined the mewling chorus of Karius detractors.
Reacting to the Reds 4-3 capitulation at the Vitality Stadium, Savage insisted:
"If I was Klopp I'd go for Hart...in January. Would city sell Hart to a rival?"
Savage - who bombed out at Man United early in his career - is not the only one who feels that Hart is ideal for Liverpool.
* Aug 2016: Jamie Carragher told the Daily Mail: ""As a Liverpool fan, I'd love to see him [Hart] come to Anfield. He'll be a tremendous addition".
* Sep 2016: Mark Lawrenson insisted: "“If I were Liverpool, I’d be all over Joe Hart. He’s better than their three goalkeepers put together.”
* Sep 2016: Brendan Rodgers enthused: "If he [Hart] got the chance to go to Liverpool then I’m sure he would look at it. It would be a great move".
Let's just say Liverpool sign £20m-rated Hart; what happens when he has a bad spell of form and/or makes a mistake? Dump him too, and continue the goalkeeper merry go-round?
The Reds have enough British player as it is, and if history proves anything, it's this: with very few exceptions, teams filled with Brits = constant failure (most noticeably on the international stage).
Thanks, but no thanks.
