Anfield Update: 'Extraordinary' €29m playmaker reveals 'text message' contact with Jurgen Klopp

Last season, Mario Gotze revealed that he's still in text contact with Jurgen Klopp, and it appears Liverpool's keeps in touch with another of his ex-players.

In March, Gotze told ZDF:

"We [he and Klopp] text now and again. He was my coach at Dortmund, so it's normal”

According to Man City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan this weekend:

“Jurgen and I don't speak but exchange text messages sometimes".

Gundogan is in great form at the moment, but his 5 goals/assists in his last 3 games haven't been enough to push City above Liverpool in the League table.

Gundogan also provided some insight into the differences between Pep Guardiola and Klopp:

"Pep [Guardiola] wants to have the ball, to dominate the game and [Jurgen Klopp] wants you to run, to play with passion and fight for every ball".

Liverpool are currently a point ahead of City, so right now, Klopp is winning the battle with Guardiola. Whether he [and LFC] can win the war, however, remains to be seen.

* Gundogan: €29m-rated (CIES Football Observatory). Described by Klopp as an 'extraordinary player'.
