Deal Close: 'Brilliant' €44m star reveals Liverpool 'talks' and confirms he wants to sign LFC deal

Liverpool midfielder Emre Can has confirmed that he is close to signing a new deal with the club.

When asked on Saturday about his future at Anfield, Can told the Liverpool Echo:

"Yes, the club have spoken to my agent. The talks are going very good. I have one-and-a-half years left. I am still under contract and it is my agent's work [to sort it out]. I am very happy here at Liverpool."

Can appears to be a Klopp favourite, so a deal is basically a no-brainer.

Plus, with the German now back in the Liverpool side as a regular first-teamer, his chances of solidifying a place in the German national team will probably increase.

Joachim Loew left can out of Germany's upcoming international games, and the midfielder appears to mystified by the snub:

"Yes, getting back in [to the Germany team] is a big motivation for me. I don’t know why I’m not in the squad this time. Maybe the manager will call me or send me a message".

Risible sense of entitlement aside, does Can deserve a new contract at Liverpool, and should he be a regular in Germany's national squad?
