Klopp to Sign? Agent confirms Liverpool are watching 'priceless' €15m striker who's 'truly complete'

The agent of Sassuolo star Gregoire Defrel has responded to rumours linking the striker with a move to Anfield.

Last month, Italian newspaper Tutto Mercato claimed that Jurgen Klopp sent scouts to watch Defrel in action.

Soon after, Sassuolo's general manager, John Carnevali, confirmed that he'd received 'many offers' for the striker.

In a Q&A with Pagine Romaniste on Friday, Defrel's agent, Giampiero Pocetta, was asked the following question:

"Is there any truth about recent rumours about a transfer to Napoli or Liverpool?"

Pocetta responded:

"Major clubs are watching him. Defrel is a player who has attracted much attention, but now is not the time to talk about the transfer market"

Some info about €15m-rated Defrel:

* Left-footed centre-forward, who can also play on either wing.

* Cesena/Sassuolo: 56 goals/assists in 163 apps (Goal every 357 mins. G/A every 198 mins). This season: 13 goals/assists in 18 games (One every 112 mins).

* Feb 2016: On his dribbling skills: "It's one of my best features. We French, many of us have this same characteristic."

* Nov 2016: Defrel's agent raved: "Defrel is priceless. He is an important player, and truly complete. There are very few players like him around".

* Nicknamed the 'New Menez' due to his similarity in playing style to Jeremy Menez.

* On his loan spell at Foggia: "I was morally destroyed, and I thought about giving up, but Cesena gave me back my desire to play football".

Hmmm. A speedy, left-footed striker - is Jurgen Klopp looking for a cut-price replacement for Daniel Sturridge? If so, Defrel clearly isn't the solution, especially with a pitiful ratio of one goal every 357 minutes.
