Confirmed Team News: €35m Liverpool star out; Klopp confirms 'brilliant' LFC misfit 'will play'

Liverpool face Spurs tomorrow, and there's already confirmation of at least two changes to the team.

'Excellent' Reds captain Jordan Henderson will miss the game after picking up a booking against West Brom on Saturday, and when asked today about his team selection for Spurs, Klopp confirmed:

"There is a 100 per cent chance he [Mignolet] will play. Simon is a real professional and it is a luxury problem who will be in goal as they are both high-quality keepers. He is a very serious person and a very good professional".

Mignolet will be happy to get some game time, but he'll also be aware that he is now in bona-fide back-up territory, and that means only playing in domestic cup competitions. Granted, it's against a Premier League team, but Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has already confirmed that he'll probably field a weakened team:

“For me, they are not kids or boys — they are players. It is the same to play against Gillingham and Liverpool at Anfield. It is a good opportunity for the younger players to build their reputation and build their career and confidence for the future.”

It looks like Klopp will follow suit. In his press conference, he noted:

"It's likely that there will be a few changes, but I didn't make a final decision until now about this".

Danny Ings surely has to play some part in the game...right?

Henderson: €35m-rated (CIES Football Observatory. Mignolet: €23m-rated. Hailed as 'brilliant' by Ray Clemence
