Transfer Update: Liverpool could seal January deal for €7m sensation Klopp hailed as 'special'. Loan or keep?

Huddersfield are reportedly keen to sign one of Liverpool's brightest prospects on loan.

According to The Guardian:

"Huddersfield Town’s manager David Wagner may utilise his Liverpool connections to take Joe Gomez on loan. Wagner is interested in offering Gomez much-needed game time from January".

After such a long time out injured, €7m-rated Gomez obviously needs game time to regain proper match fitness, but short of a catastrophic injury meltdown, there's little chance of that happening at Anfield.

As such, a loan deal appears to make sense, and despite Klopp's initial antipathy towards the loan system, lots of Reds youngsters were farmed out (or sold) over the summer.

Plus, with Liverpool stipulating that players must play 75% of games for their loan clubs, Gomez will potentially get plenty of action at Huddersfield.

Klopp appears to rate Gomez, and his programme notes this week, the German enthused:

“We will look after [Gomez] because we believe him to be special and someone who has a big future with Liverpool. We believe he has all the attributes to be a top player for Liverpool".

Bournemouth are also reportedly interesting in taking Gomez on loan, and in my view, regular action in the Premier League is preferable to playing in the Championship.
