Liverpool remain heavily linked with 'explosive' attacker Iñaki Williams, but is there any real chance of the Reds sealing a deal?
Last week, Don Balon claimed:
"Liverpool are willing to pay up to €50m to get Athletic Bilbao striker Inaki Williams. Klopp intends to make Williams his 'new Aubameyang'.
When asked on Sunday about Liverpool's interest, Williams told Spanish newspaper AS:
"I've said it before and I'll say it again: I'm very happy where I am and I am very grateful to Athletic, to the fans, the club and my team-mates for their support. I want to stay here for many years".
This is an emphatic response, and in an age of meaningless contracts, and over-entitled young players desperate for a (premature) money-spinning big club move, it's refreshing to see an unambiguously proclamation of loyalty.
For me, this is great news. €50m for a winger who averages an assist every 554 minutes is utterly ridiculous, especially when there are plenty of more prolific attackers out there with significantly lower price tags.
