After a flurry of recent speculation, it appears that Napoli attacker Lorenzo Insigne is desperate to sign for Liverpool.
Over the weekend, Italian football expert Ciro Venerato told Rai Sport:
"Insigne is tempted to leave. His agent has received a call from Jurgen Klopp, who has been following him for some time and is very interested in the player:".
Now, according to UK reports:
* Insigne's agent is 'pushing for talks with Liverpool' to help end the striker’s 'hell' at Napoli.
* The 'brilliant' attacker is trying to 'force a January move to Liverpool'.
Insigne is enduring a torrid time at Napoli this season, and he compounded his misery last week by missing a crucial penalty in a the Champions League, and according to Football Italia:
"Insigne was in tears on the bench during a 3-2 Champions League home defeat to Besiktas, as he was jeered by the fans for missing a penalty".
Emotion is one thing, but Insigne appears to be mentally weak if he is reduced to tears by a negative crowd reaction. Mentally tough players just brush off disappointment and get on with it.
Napoli reportedly want €50m for Insigne, which is ridiculous considering he averages a goal every 356 minutes.
