Ireland Hero insists: 'Excellent' £33m Liverpool star must improve in one big area. Agree?

After his recent injury, Emre Can is primed for a return to the first team, and according to Kevin Kilbane, he needs to improve his game in one specific area.

Can came on as a sub during Liverpool's 2-1 victory over Swansea, and after creating a chance for the Reds in the final stages of the game, Kilbane - co-commentating on the game for NBC Sports - observed:

"Emre Can has pace and power. He should get forward more, and score more goals, and create more goals".*

Can's 'pace and power' is (arguably) better suited to a defensive-midfield position, and that's where (IMO) he should play for Liverpool. In midfield, Lallana, Henderson, and Wijnaldum, offer more in attacking midfield positions, and are better suited to attack-minded roles.

I've argued this before several times, but Jurgen Klopp should convert Can into a defensive-minded midfielder; this will involve coaching the Hero Complex out of him, but if Can can remain disciplined in midfield, he clearly has all the attributes to be a success in the role.
