Future MegaDeal? Liverpool still determined to sign 'sensational' €40m playmaker who's 'incredibly important' to BMG

Last month, the agent of Borussia Moenchengladbach (BMG) star Mahmoud Dahoud confirmed Liverpool's 'interest' in signing the coveted midfielder, and although the Reds failed to seal the deal, Jurgen Klopp is seemingly determined to bring Dahoud to Anfield in the future.

When asked in August about a possible transfer to Liverpool, Dahoud's agent told The Guardian:

“There has been a lot of interest in him, not just from Liverpool, but everything has been postponed for next season.”

According to the Liverpool Echo this week:

"Liverpool are planning to follow up their interest in Mahmoud Dahoud in future transfer windows. Gladbach refused to part with Dahoud, but he is expected to leave in 2017".

Some info about Dahoud:

* 20-year old central midfielder. Current contract expires: 2018. 14 goals/assists in 44 apps for BMG (One every 189 mins).

* Feb 2016: Former team-mate Granit Xhaka raved: "Dahoud is sensational. He's incredibly important to us, he's still young and can still learn a lot."

* Aug 2016: BMG reportedly rejected a €40m bid from PSG.

* Scouting Report (Strengths): "Excels between the lines. Extremely clever link. Belting strike. Strong in the dribble. Keen to tackle. Smart at stealing the ball".

* As for weaknesses; according to BMG boss Andre Schubert: "He [Dahoud] has to be more efficient and learn to ease off, and recognise that he doesn’t always have to run”.

Refreshingly, Dahoud appears to have a good head on his shoulders, and when asked recently about leaving BMG, he told Kicker:

"Who says I should leave Gladbach? I still have room for improvement. My finishing has to improve, I have to get stronger in the air and I can still improve physically to get stronger on the pitch".

Spot on. Dahoud is only 20, so he arguably made the decision to stay and develop at BMG. Is Dahoud worth €40m+?
