Anfield Update: 63% of Liverpool fans insists Mane is better than 'outstanding' £55m attacker

Liverpool fan bias strikes again! Last week, Reds fans claimed that Sadio Mane is a better player than Raheem Sterling, and this week, it's City attacker Kevin De Bruyne who's allegedly inferior to Liverpool's £34m summer signing.

Over the weekend, Robbie Savage claimed:

"He [Mane] has made a big difference to Liverpool, and he could prove THE difference between glory and a near-miss. Over the first six weeks, only Kevin De Bruyne has shone as consistently as Mane".

I recently conducted a poll asking fans who is the better player, and the results were emphatic (and predictable): 63% of Liverpool fans voted for Mane.

I voted for De Bruyne, for one simple reason: consistency. As illustrated previously, Mane has major consistency issues in the second half of seasons, but De Bruyne has no such issue.

Additionally, last season De Bruyne outperformed Mane in his first full season in English football, despite missing 12 games through injury:

* Mane: 24 goals/assists in 43 apps (One every 129 mins.

* De Bruyne: 30 goals/assists 41 apps (One every 103 mins)

Both players have hit the ground running this season, but De Bruyne (G/A every 79 mins), is once again outperforming Mane (G/A every 90 mins). It'll be interesting to see who comes out on top at the end of the season.

* De Bruyne: Cost City £55. Described as 'outstanding' by Guardiola.
