Anfield-bound? Liverpool keen to sign 'magnificent' sensation who's like 'Rio Ferdinand'. Klopp sent scouts last night

Last summer, Liverpool signed Joe Gomez from Charlton Athletic, and new reports suggest that the Reds are planning another raid on the Addicks during the January transfer window.

According to The Mirror this week:

"Representatives from Man City, Man United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea have been regulars at Charlton's games this season to watch Konsa [and] attended Charlton's 1-1 draw with Oldham on Tuesday".

Some info about Konsa:

* 18-year old centre-back, who can also play as a right back, or central midfielder. Current contract expires: 2017

* Charlton: 8 senior appearances so far (all this season). 2 wins, 5 draws, and 2 defeats (9 goals conceded).

* Jul 2016: During pre-season, Charlton defender Morgan Fox noted: "He [Konsa] is a really good lad. He’s got a good head on his shoulders and he’s willing to listen. He’s fitted in really well".

* Aug 2016: After an EFL defeat to Cheltenham, Charlton boss Russell Slade enthused: "Ezri was magnificent - very good for an 18-year-old at the back. Going forwards, we’ve got a really good prospect."

* Sep 2016: Charlton 'Keeper Declan Rudd's assessment: "He [Konsa] has been absolutely brilliant. I’ve nicknamed him Rio, because he has got pace and ability on the ball. He is going to be a top, top player.”

With Joe Gomez at the club, is there any real need to sign Konsa? Surely, signing another teenage centre-back will block Gomez's path to the first team even more?
