'Spiderman' to Anfield? After Depay fail, Liverpool want 'incredible' £30m striker. Contact imminent

After his latest bout of surgery, perpetual sicknote Daniel Sturridge is set be out of action until November 2015, which makes it even more imperative that Liverpool sign two or three bona-fide goalscorers this summer. The Memphis Depay dream is dead, but the Reds reportedly have a contingency plan in place: Borussia Dortmund's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

According to The Mirror on Saturday:

* After the Depay fail, Liverpool are 'pushing ahead' with their interest in Aubameyang, and will now 'enquire into a potential fee' for the striker.

* The 25-year old Aubameyang has allegedly been on the Reds' radar 'since he left Saint-Etienne in 2013'.

Liverpool were last linked Aubameyang in February, when the Daily Express claimed:

"Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea all keeping tabs on his [Aubameyang's] availability. Dortmund have slapoed a £30m price-tag on the forward".

Some info about Aubameyang:

* Nicknamed 'Spiderman' as he often dons a Spiderman mask after scoring goals..

* St.Etienne: 68 goals/assist in 96 apps for (Goal/assist every 1.4 games)

* Dortmund: 54 goals/assists in 90 apps (Goal/assist every 1.6 games)

* Totals: 122 goals/assists in 186 apps (Goal/assist every 1.5 games)

* Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp's assessment: “He [Aubameyang] fits in well with tactics and our style of play. His pace is incredible and he’s also technically strong. He is a great player and we are very pleased with him.”

* Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti worked with Aubameyang at AC Milan, and his view is similarly enthusiastic: "He [Aubameyang] is enjoying a fantastic football career. He is dangerous, fast and attacks well from deep. In the absence of Lewandowski, he can do a good job of replacing him.”

Aubameyang doesn't seem to be interested in a move this summer, though, and when asked earlier this season about his future, he offered the following response:

"I am under contract with Borussia Dortmund until June 2018. I am not out to leave the club. That's a fact. I have heard all of the rumours. Honestly, that is of no interest to me."

How refreshing to hear a player give such an emphatic, unambiguous response. This is what Liverpool fans wanted to hear from Raheem Sterling after being asked about speculation linking him with Arsenal.

Instead, Liverpool's 20-year old mercenary admitted he's 'quite flattered' by the interest, and basically sent a veiled message that he'd probably consider a move...if the price is right, of course.

But I digress...

Aubameyang seems to tick all the boxes: 'incredible' pace, prolific creative output, and used to operating in a system that's very similar to the way Liverpool play. Additionally, with Klopp leaving, and Dortmund out of next season's Champions League, the Gabon international may feel that now is a good time to move on.

It seems unlikely that Liverpool will appeal, though. The Reds are in the same boat as Dortmund (i.e. out of the Champions League for next year), so moving to Anfield is a sideways move at this stage.

Of course, if Jurgen Klopp takes over at Liverpool this summer, then (in theory) the Reds will have a much better chance of signing sealing a deal.

Aubameyang signed for Klopp once; perhaps he'd sign for him again?

  1. Amazing player, and if Klopp comes in there is a chance he might come along with maybe Reus?

But we will end up getting Jay Rodriguez and Routledge instead.

  2. Sad but true. Unfortunately now, even the younger players don't want to sign for us.

Just look at Odeegard. We were so close, and I'm sure if we were first in the league he would have signed for us.

Not saying that Odeegard is good or was a miss, but Liverpool isn't even popular amongst the players whom we cater to the most anymore.

And I don't blame them. When Gerrard leaves we will suffer an even bigger blow to our appeal to these players.

The worst is yet to come. Without a probable CL finish and a manager known for his ''blaring success'' in the market, finding the ''Welsh Xavis'' of the world, I can only hope to god we have another Can or even Moreno at this club.

  3. Remember the top 4 could soon be the top 3.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Hell in that case could also be the top 2, not to mention top 7.

  5. Reus and Pierre are good together.

    ReplyDelete
  6. yeah, a lot of dreams are good...

  7. Who knows, journalists might as well say we are favourites to sign messi, then BR can get the blame when he doesn't sign even if he knew nothing about it, a reporter would then ask are you interested in signing messi? he replys "no" and suddenly he's critised for not showing "ambition" or he lacks "pulling power" or even cos he is British meant the transfer didn't happen

  8. If an Italian team wins the Cl, or the the euro league. then the top 3 in 17/18 will only qualify .Not top 4.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Suddenly having faith in jorden Ibe to play on the left or sterling even and wanting to concentrate on spending the money on strikers (which is what we actually need) is known as "the depay fail"

  10. As has been proven Nicol is an areshole, not worth listening to, just wants to promote his media profile, great player rubbish Journo.

  11. According to the "Mirror" ok so its a done deal.

    ReplyDelete
  12. whenever Rodger threw an invitation nobody will turn up so we just have to keep dreaming.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Ok let Sterling go to who ever and sit on the bench or go out on loan (not good enough anyway) and with the money just pay the asking price for two good strikers and offer a good wage with no fluffing around.

  14. It is just depressing even before the summer has started.

  16. How can you still believe that. We finished second last year and still Alexis, Di Maria, Falcao and Diego Costa wouldnt sign for us over the teams we finished ahead of. We had to settle for, well you know who we signed.

YES PLEASE!!!!!!!!!! would be a massive buy imo

  18. I think all this means we want an overhaul of the transfer policy... some clarity and answers re the so called transfer committee... It is too familiar. 20m is a low-rate offer for a top striker... if it is remotely true... it's an offer to negotiate not a final deal. Then the protracted deals seem to include a staggered payment arrangement and pay via various performance and win bonuses.... which don't get paid if we don't win...or you don't play. You can see why a club or player would prefer a simpler offer. I don't know how the other clubs structure their pay... could be similar?

But to defend FSG, we do pay big wages compared to any other league as a whole and pay our stars well (Steve 180m ish and Luis finished on 200m....so papers said) not in the 300m bracket but big money for one or two and significant money for established first teamers. So it shouldn't be impossible to put together a competitive team. We are not a fantasy club like Barca or Real or oil-rich but this shouldn't be so difficult! Most fans I know would rather spend money on one or two world class players as see the youngsters given a proper outing... So where do we look? Poor decisions, the manager not attracting the top players... and opaque policies...

    ReplyDelete
  19. Well said. You could look around the league too and find stars in the making Scheiderlin, Clyne, Sterling if his head was right, Etc

    ReplyDelete
  20. Certainly better than Immobile anyway .

    ReplyDelete
  21. Yeah this is a no go, but CL is not over unless we lose or draw today. Certainly the most likely outcome but there is a tiny bit of hope. Tiny.

    ReplyDelete
  22. That wouldn't be a better chance than offering more money. Look at United.

    ReplyDelete
  23. It's supposed supposed to be a long way off, but prem teams need to get their acts together in CL otherwise your right.

    ReplyDelete
  24. We were not willing to match the money Real gave Odeegaard. He is a kid and currently gets more than Sterling.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Can't see this happening, as he's really happy at Dortmund and would cost a lot.

We should've signed him from saint Etienne 2 years back (just like we could have signed Bony or Jackson Martinez 3 years ago for about 5m)

    ReplyDelete
  26. We can't get everyone but our scouting has to improve.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Then you moan about paying Sterling too much - which is it?

    ReplyDelete
  28. And Real Madrid should have signed ronaldo for £12m from sporting and Bale for £5m instead of totenham, and saved £150m! the transfer business is so simple

    ReplyDelete
  29. You forgot to say we could have signed Harry Kane 4 years ago on a free transfer on a youth contract, and falcao for 3m from river plate before porto got there first

    ReplyDelete
  30. Actually the problem is Liverpool fans living in the past who have no idea about how businesses are run and the word FFP does not even compute.

    ReplyDelete
  31. No, some of our fans are jokes.

No World Class proven player will play for us because we have won feck all for 10 years.

Our record in the CL over the last 10 years is woeful and due to FFP we can not compete on wages with the likes of Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea and a host of other top European clubs.

Considering this which apparently you agree with then what exactly do you expect FSG to do?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Seriously..

Odeegard is the example you are using.

He had the choice of virtually every top European team in the world and he chose Real Madrid.

Did you honestly expect him to sign for us?

    Really?

    ReplyDelete
  33. DNA technology is just amazing

    ReplyDelete
  34. I think Coutinho fav position is the left also, along with sturridge theres the 4 players that might be the most valuable, maybe we should be looking at adding to that, in other positions other than the left

    ReplyDelete
  35. Koke will olay alongside Matic and Fabregas will play as a no.10 in place of Oscar. Oscar is likely to be sold to PSG or will be a squad player next season

    ReplyDelete
  36. Then why was the club tracking the player if they didn't think they had a realistic chance of singing him?
Its not like we were trying to sign Ronaldo or Messi.

These are not pie-in-the-sky targets that would infringe FFP limits. Trying to sign Depay is a similar feat to us signing Suarez.

Using FFP and fan expectation as an excuse in this instance is ridiculous.
Your just another apologist for poor managerial performance...

    ReplyDelete
  37. Liverpool transfer targets are now Marvel Superheroes. The Metro won't turn down the chance to fill their back page.Next week LFC will be linked with Hulk:)

    ReplyDelete
  38. If the club can get a decent price they should sell Sturridge honestly a great player when he is fit but to me is just sitting around collecting a cheque far too often to be of any value.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Jamie how many times are you going to recycle the same stories as you have previously posted

    ReplyDelete
  40. Why do so many people here get so invested in things reported by the press? You let yourselves be manipulated so easily. If you didn't know we were "linked with" these players, most of you would never have heard of them in the first place. I don't see how you can justify getting salty about not signing such players. It's crazy.

    ReplyDelete
  41. The natural talent of Hulk and Spiderman up top would be scary, though discipline could be an issue. I would shun transfers for the likes of Batman though, who's basically just a bloke in a suit. Ditto Ironman, though he does at least manufacture his own kit, admittedly.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Nothing to do with FFP - We have spent £212m on 20 players in the 3 years since BR arrived most of it on rubbish. If we had bought 2 world class players at £30-35m each per season we would be in a far healthier position today. Instead we need to get rid of the crap we have bought over the last 3 seasons in order to buy a load more mid tier or unproven players.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Very true
No TOP player will come to Liverpool these days ,only surplus that cannot get playing time at Big clubs or young players using us as stepping stones to bigger clubs ,so scouting has to be TOP class !

    ReplyDelete
  44. As I see it, until 2013 we had two decent seasons for transfers, with more than one player making any kind of impact at the club, since 1992. These were 1999 and 2007.

The transfer strategy under FSG is more effective than that under any previous administration at Anfield in my lifetime. The pattern has been for us to just keep things ticking over, to shuffle the pack, until things get desperate, and then to overspend hugely on an entire new team. It was pathetic. We were a laughing stock. The squad lost its identity and the club squandered huge sums of money on a flood of forgettable players. For years most of the articulate and observant fans have been crying out for a change.

That change has come. Now the club has some sort of idea of doing things consistently and in a planned way over successive seasons. Cutting the cloth according to our means. Building a squad with some sort of method and structure. In case it escaped anyone's attention, we've been in the running for the title twice in the last 25 years. If you can't buy a title, you have to build for one, and that's what they are trying to do. There have been some disappointments, but there have been some successes too.

In fact we have bought and integrated a large number of excellent players in the last few years. Our transfer strategy and policy of stability has seen us leave Spurs behind. We are still in touch with the top group of clubs and though it looks like Utd will get the better of us this season, they way they are going, short-termist, letting the manager and his reputation do their business for them, it's only a matter of time until we get another shot. But only if we keep our heads and keep doing what we've been doing.

The ones who want to come are the ones

    ReplyDelete
  45. Good stuff Kieran.

  46. Just read that Jordan Ibe doesn't have an agent and let's his parents handle his contracts. He says that he doesn't see what an agent can do for him that his parents, who he trusts, can't.
Fantastic attitude and the kid's spot on in his evaluation of things. Agents are one of the, if not THE biggest reason for the rampant greed and dishonesty in football. Good to see a young lad with his head screwed on

    ReplyDelete
  47. Yup, on the basis of their story I've already bought a strip with his name on the back

  48. We could get a big sponsorship deal from Stark Industries

    ReplyDelete
  49. If BR is still at the helmat the end of the season, coupled with the help of that furtive 'transfer committee', , we fans can safely start blowing goodbye kisses to all these so-called established foreigner players such as Aubameyang and Lacazette. Then we can start preparing ourselves to welcome 'incredible' Jay Rodriguez, 'spectacular' Danny Ings, 'unbelievable' James Milner, 'out-of-the-world' Nathaniel Clyne plus maybe one or two more 'one-season wonders' from mid to mid-lower EPL for a complete overhaul of the 'underachieving' 14-15 first team, only for meagre outlay of say...maybe...80 mil pounds?

I'm praying extremely hard for me to be seriously wrong...

    ReplyDelete
  50. Are u talking abt either Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea or Man City?

    ReplyDelete
  62. Like someone else said, I think we have tended to jot get top Players. Not before they were considered top. They became top.with us. My worry is we Re not getting the players on the next round down either.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I can just imagine the money men rubbing their hands and signing him up to the "usual" ten year contract.

They'll be saying "yes of course even Steven Gerrard has to pay for his kit and to have it washed and the cost of transport to matches etc etc - I'll just check how much you owe us"

    ReplyDelete
  64. Yes he's not one of our top players who unfortunately is going through some tough times. He's just a "perpetual sick note"

    ReplyDelete
  65. Are you trying to tell me he's not the real David Brent?

    ReplyDelete
  66. Quite right and you can only blame Brendan for it

    ReplyDelete
  67. Because they already have Depay and others and he may wish to take centre stage at a better club and what better stage is their ;-) I feel we need to break the bank to get this deal done and quickly too.

    ReplyDelete
  68. sturridge aint world class mate , he had 1 good season , just like harry kane , to be world class you have to do over a number of seasons , not just 1 out of about 6 seasons , if he was world class do you think chelsea would have sold him to liverpool for 12 million come on mate liverpool have had only 3 world class in the past 15 years gerarrd , suarez and alonso, sturridge is no where near that level ,and will never be , he is not even englands best striker , and england dont have any world class players, youre just another liverpool fan who cant accept , you best years are gone for ever , by the time rodgers is done with you lot you will be like aston villa , the 80s are long gone good luck with rodgers , and danny ings next season hahahahahahhaahahhahahahahahahahahhahah, we are man utd we do what we want

    ReplyDelete
  69. are you worried that revealing the net spend will make BR look better than with the point your trying to make? I'm just wondering, Since what you said spent would already break the ffp regulations if we ignore that, and the £70m on 2 players a year would have to be 6 players added to the very tiny squad BR took over and still break ffp by 105m. That's before even taking into consideration ffp rules when it comes to wages to revenue with the stadium limitations

    ReplyDelete
  70. The point is with relatively limited funds is it worth pushing the boat out to compete for Depay against both Manu and PSG when we already have a number of options for his position and other positions that need sorting more urgently?

    ReplyDelete
  71. Sturridge is making like Wyclef Jean, circa 1988?
(Gone Til Novemeber, for those too young too know)

Ok, so let's do the maths on this:

    Expected return - November
Figure in at least 2 setbacks

    Realistic return - January 2016
Figure in his obligatory 2 months to get back up to speed and we should have him back, fit and firing, showing us those amazing moves (no, not the ultra lame (and so gay looking) arm waving apres goalazzo) for the last month of next season. Maybe 6 weeks.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Looks to be a great player, can't argue with those stats, a worthy addition indeed.
This window is shaping up tremendously well, Aubamayang and Lacazette will only improve under Brendans tutelage and we will be back to blasting teams of the pitch in short order.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Not seen much of this guy, so as always, grateful to those who enlighten me with their insighful analysis.

Wouldn't have enough time to scout all the players to whom we're linked unless I sacrificed to the task 8 hours per day, 7 days a week for ten thousand years.

Which incidentally is how long one of these poor sweat shop workers would have to work to earn the money of the fat cat CEO of the company...
"...but they just don't want to..."
    (Ricky Gervais' bit)

Anyhow, it's quite funny when two posters argue over how good one of these youngsters is/might be. A quick look on you tube and I learn which amongst thou are the trusted scouts ; )

    ReplyDelete
  74. I rated him but didn't realise his goal stats were that good. Would be a wonderful signing, especially as he doesn't mind playing on the wing.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Co-incidentally, I also bought a strip this weekend.

Lol, I think you know where I'm going with this...

    ReplyDelete
  76. 30 million pounds never not worth it rather add another 5 to the kitty and get Higuain.
Anyway i am not going to believe any of these rumours until Phil Thompson uses his inside knowledge to confirm it.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Well were linked to Falcao then, actually, as well as Jackson Martinez when he played for Jaguares.

    ReplyDelete
  78. It was going so well until you mentioned Depay.

Naturally, Lois was a little surprised, but on the whole ok. The invisible man, not so much...

  80. I question why after spending over 200 million we still have so many important positions to fill?
Maybe if that money was spent more prudently to begin with we wouldn't be lacking quality in so many positions.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Thing is, Sterling is not as good as Lacazette. I want FSG to pay top wages for top players, and for the rest, they will still earn wildly inflated sums of money before they become top players and can earn six figures a week (boggles my mind typing this).

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  86. There's more than one Invisible man in our squad.

    ReplyDelete
  87. A different question but a fair one.

It probably is that because generally you cannot "try before you buy" and we are looking at either younger players with potential or quality players who are underachieving and that has more risk. So there will be some abject failures (Aspas, Borini Balotelli) as well as successes (Sturridge Coutinho, Sterling etc)

    ReplyDelete
  88. UNITED or LFC - if you were in his boots who do you pick? Rodgers vs Van Gall, Champions League vs Europa; Ricky Lambert, Balotelli Stur-ill, $$terling vs Dupay, Rooney, van Persie, antique silverware vs 20 league titles. Now call me stupid, I'd choose LFC. But that's because I am a Liverpool fan, and the only people deluded enough to believe a top class striker would sign for LFC, would be Liverpool fans.

    ReplyDelete
  89. You scum, despite being the highest earning PL team for so long Manu's European record is well below us. Our time will definitely comeback as we improve financially after our mainstand is rebuilt and we wouldn't be coming back from CL empty handed like you do most of the time. Our success rate in CL is much better than yours and our pedigree in European championships is well respected. Finally you idiot , don't worry about BR, he is our headache, worry about LVG as he is not going to turn your fortunes as you are known to have a substandard success rate in CL.

    ReplyDelete
  90. I think part of the problem is that some people believe the hype too much. As soon as a story comes out about Liverpool scouting some 'brilliant player' that is 'absolutely coming to Anfield', people want to run with it and they get caught up dreaming of Rodgers signing the 'superstar'. Then, because they wanted so bad to believe the hype that never had any truth in it, they get mad at Rodgers for not signing a player who was never coming to Liverpool. We live in a money world and of course if we cannot offer something more than money, any normal player will always take more money over less money, especially if there are no allegiance to Liverpool.

By the way Klopp has never signed a big name either, so I don't know what all the fuss is about him. Yea he won the German league, but Bayern can't win all it every single year so every few years somebody else gets a turn to win.

"Someone handed me a polaroid and told me it was a pic of me when I was younger... All pictures of you are when you were younger."

That's the only one I can remember lol. I watched maybe a half hour, but a few days ago, and can remember one gag. (I refer you to that slow witted thing I mentioned earlier smh)

  100. Depay was never gonna come. I wanted to believe in the rumour he is frightened by LVG, but as that is not the case- everything is saying manu over us. In Lacazette's case, we can hope he will realize he is better off here than at manu, and that Lion won't sell to PSG.

  111. Full marks to Jamie for providing a seamless segway, from a possible Aubameyang transfer, to taking a critical swipe at Sterling (fully justified IMO) and back again. The smoothest and unrelated off post criticism of Raheem todate, master of the tenuous link!

  114. Sterling is not worth 50k a week as you well know and have said, so to pay a forward who can compete and score and assist more would be worth what Sterling is asking for.

without doubt Brendon will add some new superlatives to his speech if stays in charge next season.

I can put my money on:
    marvellous, breathtaking,stupendous,unbelievable,remarkable,astonishing,phenomenal, formidable,magic !

  117. If United want to sign him they will because we seem to be a poor relation these days in the transfer market.Love to get him though as he is exactly what we need plus the pacy French guy Ntep sounds a good prospect

who would trust these speculation even for a second?
Currently,he is most in-form striker in the whole Europe. Every big club would be after him.
There are other reports that Chelsea is in pole position to sign him(in swap deal involving Remy ). And it's not hard to trust them.

  119. Teamsheet was supposed to be there..

    ReplyDelete
  120. If We're favourites to sign him then it's time to head down the bookies and put everything I own against it happening because I can tell you now it's extremely unlikely he'll come to us

  121. Sturridge is not proven world class; you can't be if you are seldom fit. The most important ability is availability. FSG, on the other hand, are proven world class, and they will build slowly through young talent. Just exactly how well do you think Man U have done this season?

    ReplyDelete
  122. Yes, yes he is.

The only reason I see of having a young player going to a club like Real Madrid is to work with Ronaldo and all the superstars.

Other than that if he wanted to develop his game he would come to a club like Liverpool.

  123. Man you are fool, despite being financially the most successful club in PL for so long Manu's European record is inferior to us. Our time is surely going to come again as we finish rebuilding our mainstand finances for better players won't be a problem and listen up you scum, unlike you we aren't going to come back empty handed from European championships for long because our success rate in CL is much better than yours and that is well known and well regarded.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Would be a great signing I recon. Will we go for him ? Would he come to us ??

    ReplyDelete
  125. I guess we can only get relegated players because every other team is either in champs league or Not which means the player would be taking a side step

    ReplyDelete
  126. If we went for him I think we wouldn't get him because another team went in for him or we wouldn't offer his wage demands not because we're not in champs league. Man U , man city both managed to lure top players in without champs league . We had champs league this season but still didnt bring in a marquee signing

  127. call me if he joins dont we all knowings is all we gonna get to replace suarez even Vietowho was a realistic target is moving to Atletii nkt fuck fsg and your transfer committee. In another world ad really want Klopp to take over lfc with Pep destined for City this can be good thing for epl n lfc

  128. Thank you for the draw today. Manchester United secured for cl next season. I will still enjoy watching the Thursday games with the dull commentators.

Your only hope of getting back into top 4 is by replacing your manager and bringing in at least 7 new players.

Wr have about as much chance of signing Lacazette as the Labour and Scottish Nationalists winning the electtions via a landslide victory.

  130. You are so wrong.

I am not talking about De Maria or Aguero or RVP, & you are avoiding Lallana, Lambert, Markovic, Allen..... & another half a dozen players who costed a small amount of 7 to 10 mn & draw a wage of 50-60K/week.

Arsenal also has a salary structure & I am sure MU has also. I don't know where you got the figure of 150K, because if I am not wrong, Suarez renewed his contract at much higher wage.

It's not about BR being French, but the truth is, after Sir Alex, days of British Managers are gone (probably the best one left QPR facing relegation) & British Managers have hardly any pulling power outside UK (& inside there is no talent). For the sake of argument, I believe had BR been French, 150K was good enough to bring some of those brilliant French kids destined to greatness. BR's reach is Welsh...........

  131. He wants to play champions league!! Case closed!! Lets put this one to bed already,as a matter of fact lets bury it!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  132. Yea, the Jackson's never did their kids too many favours either

    ReplyDelete
  133. That's the one! Sometimes greedy parents are even worse because at least with an agent, parents can keep them accountable. Who can keep parents from robbing their child blind. Remember Macauly Caulking who divorced his parents?

    ReplyDelete
  134. Indeed I do. I guess the difference with the aforementioned, they were all very young, global stars and because of their age were totally reliant on their parents whether they liked it or not. Also young kids don't fall into Hollywood roles, TV series or pop bands so their parents have obviously pushed them down that road and it's difficult to understand their motives for subjecting their children to that kind of infamy so young, other than money. There's a long list of seriously fcuked up adults who were child stars.
It's different for footballers, it's a talent their parents have little control over other than giving them the opportunities to play for youth teams etc.

    ReplyDelete
  135. Good points, although where I work there's a kids footy club which is on the go. Sometimes I just observe the parents. Some have a sense of pride others are just vile in there abuse to ref & "encouragement" to their child.

  136. Suarez came to the club on 35k actually, I hear the structure is based more on performance and achievement playing for Liverpool, that's why sterling is not on 150k right now, and I would be surprised a player at that age ever will any time soon, that being said there's only one Suarez, and would think a club would allow wage increases to allow the best player in the league to be on 200k for his final season, but when it comes to bringing players in I don't know what they can offer. As for your theory that we could bring some French kids in, we did under Gerard houllier, and got the likes of le tallec and dmitre traore, there's only one arsene wenger and he makes it look easy cos there's no other manager in the world with his scouting knowledge in my opinion, with Rafa so many ppl crisised the lack of British players in the team, and now there is that's critised, so no manager will ever win, as for markovic on your list there, the very players "I'm avoiding" how would anyone know if he's going to be a good player when he's brought in at 20 years old as an emerging player, and suddenly he's a flop already before his first season has even finished, there's support for you

    ReplyDelete
  137. It's amazing that sturridge hit the ground running scoring 10 in 14 for Liverpool before the 1 year your probably talking about, he was on fire on loan for Bolton too in the league, since he was wasted on the wing at Chelsea how can you know? You might as well say 18 months out of 18 months and with all the goals from open play. Chelsea probably sold him cos of the situation with Torres, but you would have to ask mourinho
As for the world class comment, theres always been a debate what is and what isn't, there's no universal rule, I may have exaggerated but you know you have to draw the line somewhere when Rooney thinks fellaini is world class lol which pretty much make most players in the league would class. And if using the world class term lightly = that I'm living in the past then what year is roony living in? Thanks good luck to man Utd and the 'philosophy' that Im not sure even works in modern football, no matter how much money Spent how are man Utd going to get past the 3rd round play off of the champions league without de gea?
