Amazing: Great news for LFC fans after WH loss. Plus, £16m Reds star disses Man Utd

Liverpool fans are understandably miserable after Saturday's abject 3-1 defeat to West Ham, but there's always another team worse-off, and Manchester United's 5-3 defeat to newly-promoted Leicester is just the tonic for Reds fans everywhere.

Watching the capitulation of a Man Utd team stuffed with big-money signings is undoubtedly one of the most overwhelmingly joyous experiences in football.

Liverpool may be having defensive issues, but the travails of Sakho, Lovren et al are nothing compared to the defensive incompetence currently plaguing Louis Va Gaal's overpriced team.

If this doesn't make you feel better, then nothing will.

Enjoy!

Mrio Balotelli also enjoyed the result:

I'm sure Balotelli will get some stick for this tweet, but I'll take this minor indiscretion over biting and cheating.

  2. Could be a case of who gets their act together first (for fourth spot) - Liverpool or United.

  3. Whe United beat QPR I thought about posting that Spurs had done the same yet got smashed by us and so the result hadn't proven anything. United also have to get a lot of new players together as well as a whole.new defence and new manager. It will take time but many points fans seemed to almost be willing them to do better than us. Rodgers got his tactics and personnel woefully wrong yesterday but hopefully that should be lessons learned. I have not yet been convinced That United will finish above us this season. I am literally more worried about Spurs.

  4. Im only interested in one club. Its not Manchester United. But glad to see them get beat.

Rather than gloat about Man U failings we should move quickly to sort out our problems starting with that defensive enchor position . This league is going to be tough this year .The sooner the back five is re engineered the better it will be for the team .

  7. Liverpool have played 5 teams who are now above them in form teams, they have been poor for a few games true - but when both play the teams the other has played teams (15 points) I know who I would back to get the most.

  17. If there is one player who I would have been really happy to see at LFC then it has to be Diego Costa.

  20. Question to B R - When are you going to SORT OUT the defence ? Personally I think Gerard needs to have a chamge of position - Teams have worked it out

  23. Everton and Spurs result as well. Heck of a weekend for underdogs. Newcastle vs Hull was amazing too.

  24. Have you seen the RACIAL ABUSE that Balotelli has got for LOL at Man United Jaimie your thoughts ?

  25. I honesty think Gerrard should be dropped he cannot play twice a week.
He looks slow, he loses the ball, his passing is not accurate.
Put Henderson Allen Can when he returns.
    NO ONE SHOULD BE UNDROPPABLE.

I don't think BR has the bottle to drop him.

  26. Typical twitter. Disgraceful, but par for the course. These morons should just be ignored.

  27. It is always fun to watch Mourinho talk through his back end after a match. Van Gaal follows too :-)

They are a match made in heaven.

  28. If I were a player I wouldn't bother with twitter.
Jaimie is this not the most amount of upsets in the Premier League since it started?
I'm pretty sure that we have not seen so many upsets in one weekend.

  29. Twitter is is a sh!t hole. You have black people calling each other the n word.

It is a free for all. You just cannot win and the abuse towards Balotelli is uncalled for. That is twitter for you.

  31. i firmly believe we ll turn things around once our injured player are back and new players used to liverpool.
well if BR have the balls to do what s best for the team.

    ReplyDelete
  32. To be fair the penalty for the second goal that got Leicester back in the game was soft and Manu probably should have had a free kick instead.

Strangely though that only seems to add to the enjoyment.......:-)

  33. the next 2 months will define rogers as a manager ...why he never got alex song on loan is beyond me ....the team is unbalanced its that simple ...both allen and can are better options than Gerrard but even they are not ideal as ALLEN lacks size and Can is a newcomer the Dm role is crucial to how our team play because at present with Gerrard there we are being put under pressure from the off as teams have worked us out

    ReplyDelete
  34. I get your point about united being worse than us this weekend, but we should still not be losing such games. That WHU game should have been an easy control, easy win game. Poor Balotelli, hope he is man enough to ignore the hate.

    ReplyDelete
  35. the world is full of idiots so he should be used to it ...what these utd fans fail to realize is that the abuse directed at other players affects there own players and any potential players from signing ...as for expecting to win well you have to earn the right to play and there are no easy prem games if you are not up for it you will get beat....until Gerrard is replaced y either Can or Allen there is a good chance we will lose more than we win as he will become a focal point for other teams compounding the problem

  37. The Manager: BTSport on Wednesday at 22:15.Brendan Rodgers is interviewed and he talks about SG.I saw a preview.Warning... expect a thousand superlatives.
No manager should talk about a player the way BR does about Gerrard.Legendary status or not.Now Brendan Rodgers finds himself in a situation where he needs to be dropped but is hesitant to pull the trigger.
Steven Gerrard is bulletproof despite being one of the biggest reasons we have holes in our defense. When the injured players you mentioned return, I'd like to think one of them will takeover. But Gerrard playing as a regular until he hangs up his boots is more likely.

  39. Great results for us today. Spurs, Everton, Man Utd lost and the Chelski Man City face off ended in a draw. We're lucky the other teams allowed us to keep them in our sights. Time to move forward now. Come on Reds

    ReplyDelete
  40. True. But racism us something you can just get used to unfortunately...

    ReplyDelete
  41. Hear about the racist abuse he was getting after that tweet? Shocking. I think Mario has behaved pretty damn well so far on the pitch despite some obvious provocation in various games.

I'd also like to point out to all the people saying our season was over yesterday...
Man U, full of marquee signings you all crave were walloped by Leicester.
Everton lost at home to Palace and spurs lost at home to West Brom. We're only 2 points behind city. No need for knee jerk reactions and crazy overhauls

    ReplyDelete
  42. I really hope BR sorts out the team soon. We can't expect the teams to drop points every week. We got lucky this weekend. But it also shows that teams in EPL are really hard to beat. Imagine Leicester playing us...probably would have been the same scoreline without the 3 goals from us.

    ReplyDelete
  43. This mindset is fine because it's still very early days. But last season the stars lined up for Liverpool and we still didn't bring home the PL title. The team needs to take its opportunities and 3 points this weekend against the other results would have helped us, it's not like we are going to be gifted points by anyone this season.

I'm obviously not a doom and gloomer but it needs some perspective. We shouldn't accept too many more lacklustre performances, and the reality is that we can't drop too many more points either. Top place is already 7 points away.

  44. It was utterly disgraceful and I honestly wish that kid would say it to Balo's face. Biggest overreaction to 'LOL' that I have ever seen and I hope he gets named and shamed.

  45. Liverpool fan.
Man Utd's problems are their problems.
OUR overpaid donkeys should look in the mirror before they start mocking other clubs. Aside from Sterling and Moreno, NONE of them are earning their keep, especially Balotelli. Not interested in the bullshit about the training ground; what happens on the pitch is what counts and 6 points out of 15 after £100M+ spent is disgraceful. This kind of display got Dalglish slaughtered during the 11/12 season.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Sadly you are correct but I fear Balotteli is one of them. Why would a professional sportsman even want to publicly laugh at a major rival? He shouldn't have posted anything and should concentrate on improving on the bloody pitch. I abhor racism having encountered and subsequently dealt with it in my own special way on a couple of occasions but Balotteli is stupid.

  47. To be honest Man United losing takes nothing away from our horrible start to the season for me. First of all they may be in trouble defensively but on the other hand I haven't seen us put attacks together that you see in this video too. We need an injury time penalty to beat a team from Bulgaria in the CL for crying out loud. We have paid over 50 million for attacking players and all of them together have done less than what DiMaria has done. It may not look that way right now but they're in a much better position than we are right now. WIth them it's only a matter of time, With us it's once againt going for numbers rather than quality that has done us over.
