Liverpool have reportedly made an offer for Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa, who is also on Arsenal's wanted list.
According to Spanish news program Punto Pelota, the Reds have submitted an offer for the 24 year old Brazil international, and and are waiting for permission from the La Liga club to make an official approach.
Costa - recently linked with a €25m move to Arsenal - is in the final year of his contract with Madrid, which means he could potentially leave for free next summer.
This should give interested clubs a strong bargaining position, and render his €25m (£22m) buy-out clause practically meaningless.
When asked in May about his plans for the future, Costa told reporters:
"I am working so that I grow and improve every day. There are great players here and I want to fight to be in the first XI. I hope to keep growing here at Atleti."
Costa's team-mate, Koke, wants the Brazilian to stay with the club, and in February, he enthused:
"He [Costa] is a great footballer, he has a lot of character and he has his own way of playing when he is on the pitch. He does his job and people focus on other aspects of his game too much.”
By 'other aspects of his game', Koke clearly refers to Costa's reputation for being one of football's biggest 'wide-up merchants', which has earned him the nickname 'Dr Jekyll and Mr. Costa' in the Spanish media.
Case in point: After gifting Costa a goal in February, Real Betis centre-back Betis Antonio Amaya reacted with anger over the Brazilian's very deliberate gloating. After the game, he raged:
"He [Costa] was shouting and thanking me for the gift. If my team-mates had not held me back, I would have killed him. That shows what kind of person he is: he has no heart and no shame"
Costa's overly physical approach regularly unsettles defenders, and in December, clearly miffed by Costa's rough tactics, TV cameras caught Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos spitting at the striker in retaliation:
Lovely!
Costa's stats from last season are creditable:
* 20 goals/8 assists in 44 apps (36 starts)
* Top scorer in the Spanish cup (beating Ronaldo)
* Goal/assist every 1.5 games.
4 different loan spells in 5 years suggests that Atletic don't rate Costa that highly, but at 24, he's the right age for LFC, and at 6'2, he'd add some real physical presence to LFC's forward line.
A good move for LFC...or potentially Suarez mk II (in terms of causing trouble) ?

he has a good footballing record but why has he been loaned out all the time, a bit worrying really, just wondering if he has issues off the field (dressing room) obviously is a bit of a character
ReplyDeleteUnderwhelmed.
ReplyDeleteRodgers has been reported as saying he won't waste money for the sake of it. Translated into we won't be signing anyone. Unless we sell Suarez.
ReplyDeleteOne word... Falcao!..
ReplyDeleteWill he Costa a lotta money?
ReplyDeletehe may cause as many problems as suarez but i doubt he would have anywhere near the impact of suarez, ask yourself why have none of the clubs that he has spent time on loan to ,tried to sign him
ReplyDeleteYou clearly are one the ITK's!
ReplyDeleteThat is why it is just a rumour...
ReplyDeleteDoesn't matter. Since Liverpool are clearly costa-cutting at the moment, there's no chance of a deal anyway.
ReplyDeletenow tell us something we do not know,i hate to say it ,but i have a nasty feeling i was right
ReplyDeleteWould LFC have been costa-cutting if we had signed Mkhitaryan?
ReplyDeletethe only costas fsg will be shelling out for are the mocha late at the coffee shop ........this guy has the temperament of suarez but not the talent
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if anyone watched him last year; but he seemed to have quite a temper on him. On the flipside however, he does have a lot of ability and pace. In fact, hes actually pretty exciting to watch. And his record isnt bad for a side with Falcao in it. In a season prior to the WC hes probably aiming to get into the team - hence, he could have a great season ahead of him. With Coutinho feeding his and sturridge's pace - it could be a lethal force.
ReplyDeleteNo he said he wouldn't buy a player for the sake of it, which is a good thing. Let them scout more to identify the right players.
ReplyDeleteYip, all we need is to spend 35 million on another Carroll. What would be the point of that?
ReplyDeleteDid we sign him?
ReplyDeleteWe were close
ReplyDelete"There has been lots of players linked but the fact is we really only had one (top target) and unfortunately we didn't get the chance to speak to that player before he moved from Shakhtar.
"We had spoken to Shakhtar, we had got permission to speak to him but unfortunately I didn't get the chance to sit down in front of him. It was already in place with Dortmund so that was disappointing.
Mkhitaryan cost Dortmund about £26 million so clearly we were willing to spend money as the only way we would have been given permission to speak to mkhitaryan is by showing the money to Shakhtar.
Probably the most annoying player in La Liga. No, just no.
ReplyDeleteOr translates to, we wont waste money IE buying ,.. (my new most hated word that I'm seeing EVERY day on every frigging post) "Marquee" signing's, We are buying wise, rogers is sticking to what he knows and he was a youth coach, he knows every bit of talent in the 14-22 year old bracket hes been watching them and playing them for years.
ReplyDeleteHe's buying under rated players not over rated ones, everyone he's buying has a slightly crazy attitude to winning.
Just watch what happens next season. All fast players that can dribble and pass. Simple pass and move every player a proven goal scorer. I'm not seeing a lot of waste tbh I'm looking and wondering how hes pulling off really good deals. Leave the chumps to spend ridiculous money on ridiculous flops we will build a team that will be world class not just buy a few world class players and hope for the best
Jason don't worry about it we've seen your "right" % and its very low, so were not worried yet
ReplyDeleteYeah it's been confirmed by the echo (who are usual reliable) good player :-)
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Aha
ReplyDeleteYou've yourself answered the question matey. "We were willing to spend" that's what we're to believe i.e, all the LFC fans. I doubt there would be such a huge signing this summer of course unless Suarez is sold which I doubt will happen because no one's making an offer of 50million plus. We didn't show the money to Shakhtar and we lost it out on Mkhitaryan so no point in saying we're going to spend because we haven't yet.
ReplyDeleteChris - please don't post snide comments like this. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteLol. Hope im wrong. And the club prove they have ambition.
ReplyDeleteIts a big fat no from me. There's only one thing worse than a biter and that's a spitter. I've played against spitters and they are the only type of player worth taking the red for having a swing at them. Disgusts me that we are linked with him to be honest.
ReplyDeleteOr spend 22.6m on another suarez(without the baggage)
ReplyDeleteWas it not Ramos who was the one who spit?
ReplyDeletethe one thing i like though about the player and if im honest ive only seen him a handful of times is at least he puts himself about a bit
ReplyDeletelooks like we really gonna trust kelly wisdom and jones for defence .......oh well it could pay off
ReplyDeleteIf we really sell/loan/whatever skrtel, we've already found an upgrade that is ready to overtake his place, and I'd be extremely happy if that's Papa :)
ReplyDeletelol watch the video its ramos that spits on him, guess u wouldnt want sergio ramos either then ?
ReplyDeleteMate, not saying he's a fair player but in that scenario he's the victim - Ramos spit at him ;)
ReplyDeleteid flip carthwheels but with shalke saying no contact whatsoever ill sit down for a bit .....however unlike the costa guy almost all newspaper s and journos are saying it may happen so my gut saying this deal more likely than papa
ReplyDeleteI think if skrtel goes on loan to Napoli then papadopoulous will come In. Then we that would be a good window of dealings...
ReplyDeletethen we really should hurry no point dilly dallying till the last minute and we get stuck cuz shalke or papa have a change in heart at the last minute
ReplyDeleteLets just hope there's somehting going on. IMO he would be a wonderful replacement, he's quality from what I've seen, causing regular frustration to opponent defenders. That's what I love about suarez, and they have something in common there, eventho their style of play is completely different - lets just hope they don't have to much in common ;)
ReplyDeleteWhy are people so negative! The window is far from over so its too early to worry about not spending a lot yet. Good players are harder to sign so most of the bigger deals will be in the next few weeks. There has been no indication that we are not going to sign more players and the owners have shown in the past that they are prepared to spend money.
ReplyDeletei know lol ive calling for his signature for a long time lol ...... he definitely is talented just exurbates too much passion at times but he doesnt go as nuts as suarez he is like volatile like bowyer at his limit but fortunately doesnt get there most of the time
ReplyDeleteLets just finish these two transfers off, when this guy and the LB comes in. We will have still 3+ weeks to get the papa deal done.
ReplyDeletei have my reservations abt that lb guy to be honest while yeah rodgers ultra attacking full backs dont need much defesive strength we do need defense at times and from what i have seen and heard he cant defend to save his life
ReplyDeleteSo is Gerrard wrong to want a couple of top signings? He's been around long enough, to know if you get a couple or even one top player, it would give everyone a lift and show ambition. Even Spurs have invested in 2 good players.
ReplyDelete*3 soldado chadli paulinho
ReplyDeleteTrue, but he only played there a season I think Rodgers will play him more forward but he there and can fill in there sometimes which is helpful..
ReplyDeletei just when he does fill in he does a better job than downing ._.
ReplyDeleteEach to their own but I've had my fill of his ilk ;)
ReplyDeleteAlthough to be fair to Luis, Costa is far more prolific with his annoying. He is bit of nutter
We were linked to Soldado, he hasn't exactly Mr Nice either (although not as prolifically controversial as the other two). What is with us getting linked with these types(!)
In terms of playing style, I can see why he makes sense for us Costa, as he can play across a three and probably better coming in from wide than playing as a last man through the middle, he will work hard without the ball, etc.
But it has been denied by Atletico this evening.
ReplyDeleteAtletico have tonight denied they received any offers for Costa, but who knows. ?
ReplyDeleteAgree aha
ReplyDeleteThey also denied it when we bid for Torres.....
ReplyDeleteThat may or may not be true. It's standard practice for clubs to deny interest.
ReplyDeleteJAmie you were the 1st person I though of when I saw us linked with him.
ReplyDeleteDon't lose sleep over it mate!!!
In the words of clay davis, shiiiit... my bad. an apology letter is on the way to mr costa and all his family. In my flimsy defence, the laptop is fckedvand im doin this on the phone. nonetheless i take all the deserved slagging i would be doling out were the roles reversed... cringe
ReplyDelete:O Welcome back!
ReplyDeleteRodgers confirmed that we were given permission by Shakhtar to talk to Mkhitaryan Go google the quotes.
ReplyDeleteThe only way we would have been allowed to talk to Mkhitaryan is by making a bid for Mkhitaryan. That is how the transfer process works.
Here is a link for you

Sell: suarez - £55M, borini - £6M downing-£7M = £68M
ReplyDeleteBuy: Luis Muriel - ST/22 yrs - £12M (replace borini)
Bernard Anucio - AM/20 yrs - £20M
Christian Eriksen - AM/21 yrs - £16M (replace downing)
Toby Alderwerield - CB/24 yrs - £7M
Loic Remy - ST/26 yrs - £8M (replace suarez)
Mohamed Diame - DM/26 years - £6M (competition lucas)
Total: £69M
get off your fucking ass BR, and shift these 3 players on so we can make these marquee signings.we can look like this next season
GK-Simon Mignolet
RB-Glen Johnson
CB- Toby Alderwerield
CB-Daniel Agger
LB-Lorenzo Malgarejo
CM-Steven Gerrard
CM-Christian Eriksen
AM-Phillipe Coutinho
RW-Iago Aspas
LW-Bernard Anucio
ST-Daniel Sturridge
subs: jones, kelly, toure, diame, alberto, remy, muriel
we can definately get top 4 if we mange to get this squad. and let it grow. im loving the look of it already. just imagine service coming from steven g, coutinho and eriksen for the likes of sturridge, aspas, bernard and remy & muriel who could be starting or make impact from the substitute bench. dont think we'll even lose a game, especially with the way we playing from january onwards to the end of the season. quality football. YNWA
Sad to say WHY would Liverpool go get Papa the greek or erikson even Costa Total spend under 50mil .
ReplyDeletewhen they only Look at on the Free players or loan players or players who don't play first team football. I Hope I am wrong ??????? just think we are being taken for ride .
'ask yourself why have none of the clubs that he has spent time on loan to ,tried to sign him'
ReplyDeleteConsidering the state of Spanish & Portuguese football, my guess would be lack of money (and third party interference). Outside of the selfish big two, La Liga is financially crippled (but looks like they are going to get collective TV rights finally. About time). I wouldn't even be surprised if Atleti didn't own all of his playing rights. I don't rate him highly but definitely more than good enough to be playing at those loan clubs.
Eriksen can be bought for only 12m and Diame has a 3.5m clause... So even more money saved! I don't understand why we haven't picked up Diame... He is awesome especially at that price!
ReplyDeleteNow I'm sure...they have completely lost their minds at Anfield...
ReplyDeletei honestly believe that as a club we chase '' nutters '' because they are cheaper ,and that's the only reason...thats shows you as a club how far we have dropped...as a kid growing up liverpool was a byword in football not just for results ...but for integrity ......moores has a lot to answer for
ReplyDeletei have massive worries over papa ....another cardboard tank is not what we need
ReplyDeletepapa hasn't even passed the medical so...in the words of maddona i hope papa dont reach '' anfield that is ''
ReplyDeleteIf FSG & BR were so eager to sign him and him also being a top target then why didn't we make the bid early like we did with the other 4 players that we've signed? Its because they took too much time wondering if he was capable of justifying the price he was coming for. If a club has a top target then you've to move heaven and hell to sign the player because if he's the top target then the team is going to be built around him and him having the pivotal role. Even if LFC bid for the player it was just the same scenario that Arse are having with Suarez where they're just trying to please the fans. BTW I do have the knowledge how a transfer process works.
ReplyDeleteHahshah :) but I agree with you bitters and splitters are the worst guys in football !!
ReplyDeleteso i guess the Shaqiri rumor has fizzled off hmm
ReplyDeletechris heres some things i got right pepe was not competition for mingolet,we would not sign hk ,we would not make any marque signings unless suarez was sold ,the suarez saga would drag on and on,and our net spend would not be 20to 30 million
ReplyDeletei take any player we are linked with near the 20million mark with a pinch of salt
ReplyDeletebeen on holiday m8;-)
ReplyDeletebut not good enough to take us forward
ReplyDeleteto be fair to moores if he could go back in time i very much doubt he would make the same mistake again,he may not have had the money to take us forward but his heart was in it
ReplyDeleteits alright i didn't, was more of a joke lighten up a LITTLE jaimie
ReplyDeletehow the mighty have fallen I don't blame suarez for wanting out. people can say let him go . we will win nothing or attract his type of talent for years.
ReplyDeletei thought we had a real chance of top four this season ,easy start to the season ,a lot of new managers settling in ,but we just do not want to go to the party
ReplyDeleteWell you got two right, we stuffed pepe through the door because he was constantly acting like we were just a stepping stone to barca, HK didnt want us, that's player preference not your divine knowledge. Our spend is bout to be light i don't know if you noticed but we BLEW about 150m, we spend with the best of them and have NOTHING to show for it. oh and isnt this article about our £25m bid?
ReplyDeletewe have 2 weeks left i expect this year transfer deadline day is going to be much better for us, you lot far too gloomy, stay out of the kitchen where the sharp knives are
ReplyDeleteHow do you know we didnt put the first bid in? Were not going to post it on the LFC site are we.
ReplyDeleteWait everybody in this £25million business deal DeveshChil isn't here we cant continue without letting him and everyone else know every intricate detail about what were doing behind closed doors
yes the article,is about our bid i was just replying to your post m8
ReplyDeleteWho have you watched on YouTube recently that has been...
ReplyDeleteIn fairness, the first couple of loans were probably instigated by Atletico to get him some matches since he was 18 or 19 when he moved there from Braga. After the last loan Atletico recalled him themselves so they must rate him somewhat. That said, they must also know that for 22 million they can get better players than him so they probably prefer to take our money and bring in someone else. On top of that Atletico has traditionally been a "cash strapped" club since Gil y Gil left so they'll be happy with this summers net result if they manage to get this much money for a player who is by no means a automatic pick.
ReplyDeleteThey only look at free players? Coutinho, Sturridge, Mignolet, Aspas, Alberto, these five players prove your point null and void. Rodgers isn't going to go out and spend 25mil on a player that is worth 15mil and if the parent club are insistent on the 25mil price, he will walk away. This shows that he won't be taken for a mug, which in the long run can only be good for LFC.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately with big players come big expectations and big egos, and a bigger risk of failure. Buying the "lesser known" players is smart, because they won't necessarily have the ego, and because not many fans would have heard of them, the expectations aren't as great, so they have a better chance at hitting the ground running. Just because a player doesn't come from a top team, doesn't mean they aren't potentially world class.
ReplyDeleteJK shouted you a holiday hahaha ;)
ReplyDeletewell lets hope we do not pay this kind of money for him
ReplyDeleteIt's not necessarily how the transfer process works. Clubs can also go to the player and player's agents, agree personal terms before they thrash out a bid to the club, afterall, there is no point making a bid for a player if the player isn't interested in joining your club. This would be a waste of time.
ReplyDeleteDidn't you know they were free to everyone but Liverpool, all players were so crap im sure ones professionally a painter. People are to stupid to see to owners have brought a business not just a football club. When we back as the highest earners in the CL i have no doubt FSG will spend till the cows come home
ReplyDelete20 goals in 44 appearances isn't good enough? Wow. Unfortunately people are seeing Messi's goal to game ratio and judging all players by this, if they don't meet that ratio, they aren't worth anything, when they don't realise that Messi is the exception, not the rule.
ReplyDeleteFor sale, Noose's £10, Cyanide £30, Bullets £5. Figured this was a better place than any too sell them
ReplyDeletethis is known as tapping up,the clubs should agree a transfer fee then the club and the player
ReplyDeleteDid you really just write "Loic Remy (replace Suarez)"..... Beggars belief
ReplyDeleteand how do we get in the CL in the 1st place ,our rivals will spend money ,on top of the fact they already have stronger teams ,if fsg do not invest now they never will ,do you really think they are going to invest more ,when they start having to pay out for the reconstruction of anfield
ReplyDeleteah ha yes hes that easy to replace we should have ripped arsenals arm of and bought 5 of them
ReplyDeleteSo why not take the bid from the Arabs and instead take the bid from the Americans? His decision was purely about his own wallet and not for the good of the club. Maybe he wouldn't have made the same mistake, however, when one person comes in and doesn't have the money and then comes in with someone else, who if you have done your homework, which Moores should have done, would have seen that that second American also did a poor job at running a famous Brazilian football club, alarm bells should have been ringing. Of course I am talking about Hicks and his time in charge of Corinthians.
ReplyDeletewe are talking about replacing suarez ,one of the top 5 players in the world, costa would struggle to make the top 100,thats the difference
ReplyDeleteNot quite, the current club only needs to agree for the interested club to talk to the player. Regardless of a transfer fee having been agreed. Then if the player expresses an interest to move, they need to trash out a fee first.
ReplyDeletethey are as flat as water from the tap
ReplyDeletei think you will find no club willingly lets a player talk to another club ,unless a fee as been discussed ,or they simply do not want that player at the club
ReplyDeleteDo you seriously believe the likes of aspas, Alberto and borini will ever be world class. IMO Rodgers has a little too much confidence in his ability to turn youngsters into stars. He's done some great business with coutinho and Sturridge and now thinks we don't have to spend money. But we do if we are going to be successful. What singles the top sides out from mid table ones is that they spend money to bring in top players. United are so successful because they have spent top money being in world class players, the same is true of many city when they won the league and the same was true of Chelsea when they were successful. Arsenal have been trying to win something without spending money and they haven't won anything in years. If we want to make top 4 we need "marquee signings" Eriksen and poppadopolous please FSG
ReplyDeleteLoic remy to replace Syarez?! Loooooooooooooooooooooooool what a joker!
ReplyDelete* Suarez sorry
ReplyDeletei still think he regrets it
ReplyDeletesoldado is of to spurs they have agreed a fee another one bites the dust
ReplyDeleteDid you read my post? Seriously? Where did I say we didn't bid? I said we did it the way Arse are doing it with Suarez where they made a bid but if they're really serious then why not just up the offer and make the player feel he's wanted. Read before you post, eh?
ReplyDeleteyes a week in coventry ;-)
ReplyDeleteI always laugh when people make this type of list... sell xxx player for 30mil buy xxx player for 20mil. It's so easy. I guess I will leave the selling and buying up to LFC.
ReplyDeleteI like the look of Costa, big and physical, my type of player. Would he fit BR's system? I guess if we have put a bid in then BR seems to think so.
I don't agree with you that often, but i do agree with you now. This season is the perfect opportunity for us to get amongst the top 4. We need to out spend our rivals and bring the players which will not only close the gap but lets us over take our rivals. I think we have slightly improved our squad over last seasons, but we have not closed the gap to Arsenal (i guess they have the same strength as last year) and spurs (who have in my eyes only gotten better, if Bale stays).
ReplyDeleteI like BR to be sensible and not waste money, but if you go for a player coz you think he will improve our team but back away for the sake of 5m that to me makes no sense. There are not many players out there which will improve our team and want to come to us. We are probably in a very difficult situation compared to most other teams, we are in a sort of Limbo, where second tier players are not good enough to improve our first 11 and first tier players do not want to come to us as we are not in the CL.
I truly believe people underestimate the situation we are in and it really isn't about knocking on a players door and asking them to join us and they will.
Money talks, we need to spend some and probably over the odds to get the real targets we want to take us to the CL level
Maybe because to FSG £25milion and £27million are a big difference? to us its just a big number, to them its actually CASH, making someone feel wanted is one thing, paying TOO much for them is another. And i didnt say we didnt bid? I said how do you know we DIDNT put an early bid in at the same time
ReplyDeleteDo you actually think BR is the person calling all the shots on transfers?
ReplyDeleteYeah if we are bringing the money in I do, they are willing to spend we have seen that, Im pretty sure when you look up stingy you dont see them handing over half a billion to own LFC and bring players in, you would be reluctant to spend so freely, hes making rogers show he can be trusted with big money simple
ReplyDeleteThis is my point, rogers seams to be picking up players that do what he wants and play the way he wants rather than a just a name for the back of some tools shirt
ReplyDeleteYou mean BR doesn't sign the players out of his own money?
ReplyDeleteNo hes proving the exact point there that you dont have to spend 30-40million to get what you want 20 million on those two players with very low PL wages\ability ratio. Lets now see if hes done it again with the next 4 hes brought in rather than watching youtube and regardless of what happens in the video just moan that's its not a "big name" players name in the description
ReplyDeleteNo i mean he isn't the one who is identifying the targets
ReplyDeleteno .. i know .. never mind lol
ReplyDeletePlease lets not all forget that Dortmund right now is a much better prospect than Liverpool. If i wasn't an LFC supporter then for sure I would go to Dortmund over Liverpool.
ReplyDeleteMaybe we were messing around with the fee but so were BVB, the player just decided to go to BVB instead of us.
England and the Premier League are not the be all and end all
I actually think we are not talking about replacing Suarez (based on comments in the last few days), Costa would be bought to play along side, then I would consider it quite a good transfer. I agree if Costa is to replace Suarez then we are in big trouble, to be honest no one player can do this. We would need to spend the 50m on possibly 3 other top players
ReplyDeleteIt would be interesting seeing him and Suarez in the same team, although we might win the title of the most hated team in the PL.
ReplyDeleteI think by the way Liverpool are desperate to hold on to Suarez that they don't mind a player who does whatever he needs to in order to win. If that's the case then I might just be starting to lean in the direction of not being entirely a fan of such an approach. If Rodgers says "players with the right attitude" but also means "raving lunatics who will do anything to get their way on the pitch" then I'm totally supportive.
ReplyDeleteStill, it's a tough game, and if Stoke don't apologise for the way they play football then why should the likes of Suarez or Costa? OK, biting someone is absurd, launching two footed into someone's shin is wrong and sneaky punching, testicle grabbing ... well, you know what I mean. What I think is OK is that level of physicality and nuisance value that players like this bring. If you grab their shirt they'll lean into you and push you over. If you kick them as you try to hold the ball up, they'll not be shy with elbows trying to make room for themselves. If you nick their heels in the penalty box they'll let themselves lose balance rather than scramble to their feet. It's all that stuff on the boundary of being OK or being just plain wrong. I don't mind a player who is willing to mix is up. It's a tough game, and we need tough players to compete. To do that you have to push the envelope and sometimes you'll get in trouble.
Me Likey
ReplyDeletego to youtube and type in: Diego Costa VS Sergio Ramos and Pepe. He goes to bite Ramos finger! Think BR is trying to form a team of fire and aggression. Could work. I heard his contract ends in 2016.
ReplyDeleteI agree with all the points you made in there.
ReplyDeleteI never said we didn't make an early bid, I said the bid was made so late that by then even if the player would've thought about us he couldn't help it because the negotiations with BVB went too far I reckon.
ReplyDeleteif that is the case fine lets hope so
ReplyDeletethe time is now strike whist the irons hot
ReplyDeletethey did not hand over half a billion did they ,and and we have genarated our own money ,do not worry they will get a profit when they decide the time is right
ReplyDeleteDo you realise that in order to sell someone, you need someone to buy them?
ReplyDeleteGo find someone stupid enough to pay Downing's wages. I'd rather sell Skrtel and buy Papadopoulus or sell Johnson to get Alderwereld and a top DM(not Diame). Muriel is quoted at 18M I think.
Great news, now we will have 2 big character to win us the CL oscar and bullied the BPL defenders, looking forward to the nomination.ynwa
ReplyDeleteAll this nonsense about spending big on marquee signings is utter rubbish , have you ever heard of a team called Borussia Dortmund?!There team was bought on a budget and there players were largely unknown in world football when they arrived eg. Lewandowski, ruess!in the modern game it is useless and uneconomical to spend 30 mill on 1 player , with the right scouting network a team can be bought on a budget and compete for honours with a system and plan in place , BVB are the blueprint to which the likes of lpool and Tottenham should be looking towards!
ReplyDeleteAnother bites the dust ,what are the hopes of landing a good player like him coming to Anfield this season ? Jason you would love this site liverpool.theoffside.com its gr8 fun.
ReplyDeleteYou predicted this long back Lol....... when and if they sell Suarez I'll settle for nothing less than jackson martinez
ReplyDeleteEriksen is a lightweight in stature and performance.Half decent in a poor league. Did absolutely nothing for Denmark in WC 2010 or 2012 Euros. Promises loads, won't deliver.
ReplyDeleteOf course they will, and the club was over 350million? + 150m so far on players granted we've probably pulled about £50m of what we've got from sales to put back in so lets call it £450million? They have spent a lot of money, should they not expect a profit back from their INVESTMENT. Do you see the name FSG Charity anywhere on the clubs ownership forms?
ReplyDeleteThat's just it though You Reckon, we could have put the bid in and they cause have used it to goad BVB we don't know and we never will but it didn't go our way.
ReplyDeletePersonally i think it was a stupid move, that CL final was the worst one ive ever watched. Mistake after mistake after mistake and hardly anyone with a nice enough touch to capitalise on it, maybe it was just the day but i thought it was very poor. Best league in the world now in germany? No thanks, EPL please, more competition than any other league there are no 100% wins for any team every match has the potential to be phenomenal end to end football
I would have put any PL team up against either of those two in that final and id say it would have been 50/50
i cannot argue with you fsg is all you care about ,
ReplyDeleteIm just saying dude they not as bad as people make out they are trying to build something here, takes time, so far weve dropped wages and actually have a squad of players. Its going alright, we will get another couple of players, we are playing good football its looking good I just cant see the doom that you see
ReplyDeletebiting an arm is childs play compared to alledged rapist!
ReplyDeleteI never said any other league is better and I consider a league better only if it has good and fair competition between all the teams and you don't get it anywhere other than BPL because it's not a two horse race here unlike other leagues. I wouldn't say that I'd play any PL team with either of them and say it'd be 50/50 because if you had watched the Audi Cup Final 2013 you wouldn't have come with that. Yes, you can say it might be 50/50 with BVB but not for all the teams from only just a few that too the top ones. If you say that you'd play Bayern with any PL team and expect them to win against them at 50/50 then I'd say its delusional because coming from behind they beat ManShitty very easily. So, don't say BVB and Bayern Munich have a 50/50 chance against the PL teams because in reality they're not that weak as you think of them.
ReplyDeleteIts Pre season, Munich wern't that good just loads of diving from their two dirtiest players. I put it this way I would not have put Liverpool\United\Chelsea\Man City\Arsenal\Everton on the losing side if they had been in that final. Some good players in both teams but that seamed it, as teams they were both collapsing all over the place. Might be deluded but they just done look that good, but hey I dont watch the league i might next year . PS aspas is looking fucking brilliant, whats that now 3 goals / 4 assists so far (allen just scored)
