Liverpool have been linked with Manchester City youngster Abdisalam Ibrahim several times over the last few months, and reports today suggest that the Reds are still monitoring the coveted midfielder, who is now available after being granted a transfer by City.
In May, Sky Sports reported:
"Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool, Everton, Fulham and Swansea are all keeping tabs on Ibrahim's progress.
"They will continue to monitor his situation over the summer"
The 22-year-old midfielder - who has been compared to Patrick Vieira and Yaya Toure - is currently on loan at Norwegian side Stromsogodset, and according to Daily Express today:
"Abdisalam Ibrahim is heading for the Etihad exit door after the club granted him a transfer. He has no shortage of suitors with Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool and Crystal Palace all vying for his signature".
There appears to be some confusion over the veracity of the story, however, and when asked about his future on Monday, Ibrahim told Norwegian reporters:
"It is crazy that I have been released. If I had, I couldn't be here [at Stromsogodset]. I'm here for the season. Things are very good, and I'm only thinking of the next game"
Some sources state that Man City have 'released' Ibrahim - which is the point of contention - but the likelihood is that he's merely been granted a transfer, which can take place anytime up until the end of August. The Norwegian season runs from March to November, so it makes no real difference that he's still at Stromsogodset.
£6m-rated Ibrahim is getting his career back on track after being sent home early from a disappointing loan spell with NEC last year. When the move ended, Technical director Carlos Aalbers told NEC's official website:
"Abdisalem had it difficult in his role as a reserve. It was therefore better for everyone that he would return to Manchester City to get his career back on track."
Man City's Football Development Executive Patrick Vieira watched Ibrahim in action last month, and after the game, the France legend admitted he was 'impressed' with the youngster, who was clearly pleased that to hear that Vieira attended the game. The 6'2 midfielder told reporters:
"I am happy the way that the season has started and it is nice to hear Patrick Vieira was here to watch me. I want to continue improving and remain focused on my game and we will see in the summer what Manchester City plan to do with me."
Jostein Flo, Strømsgodset Director of Sports, is a fan of Ibrahim, and believes that he has what it takes to succeed in a bigger league. He told ABC Nyheter:
"He [Ibrahim] is hot right now and has developed considerably here. If he leaves, he will probably go to a club abroad. City is very pleased that he is here, but we have not discussed his future"
Liverpool desperately need some kind of cover for Lucas, but it doesn't look like Brendan Rodgers is prioritising that position. For me, that's a major mistake, and after losing out Victor Wanyama, Ibrahim could be a viable, comparatively cheap option.
Worth a bid...?

May get slated for this, but for cover, I'd settle for Spearing, especially if there aren't any cheap and proven options out there. I don't think Allen is going to be backup for Lucas. Spearing is a ball winner and that's all I expect from him. IMO it's better to keep Spearing than sign some young DM.
ReplyDeleteSort Suarez out and bring in another striker/right sided attacker. Realistically, I don't expect another attacker, DM, and a Centre back to all be signed, which a lot of people are calling for. I just can't see it happening.
Spearing is the type of player who costs you games, Bolton is a perfect fit for him
ReplyDeleteHopefully Coady comes back a better player from his loan then there will be no need to go sign competition for Lucas.
ReplyDeleteBTW, Rodgers did say he was after another attacking midfielder and defender/LB..
ReplyDeleteIf Suarez does go and probably will then we can expect more signings to make up for his goals.
I was going to mention Coady as competition but then remembered his loan spell - I really hope so too.
ReplyDeletehey jaimie- do you know anything about these FSG sale rumours?
ReplyDeletethe cats out the bag .....no doubt the same faces on this site will come out defending fsg saying how great they are and they are not in it for a quick buck......well wake up and smell the coffee fsg are and where never in it for the long haul ....rumours like this always have truth behind them...the old adage theres no smoke without fire....what i dont wnat is to be linke with more americans....let the yanks stick to there own girlie sports like rounders and hockey
ReplyDeleteI heard about these two, although from what I can see it is purely rumours. Looks a little like people putting 2 and 3 together and getting 5.
ReplyDeleteHowever if true, they stated 3 people/companies who were interested, two being Amercian, one being Saudi Armaco. Fingers crossed for the latter. For those who don`t know much about the latter, they make all other football owners look poor. They are prob the biggest company in the world, or def one of. Asset value of 10 trillion, thats right Trillion. Revenues are 311 billion a year. They are owned by the house of saud. I`m don`t want to be a City, but you would get secruity having them own you. It would be interesting to see if FFP does come in properly, if it does, the benifits of them owning us are less, but they could build the stadium to increase money using approx half a day earnings.
Different world aint it.
From the rumour I heard, FSG approached them about sponsering us, and they said how about buying you. It is also interesting to note, by principle of there companies owners, they are the same guy/family who want to buy us before FSG, who got put off by H&G messing him about.
Maybe he is coming back in for another chance.
If we do get brought though, this would prob delay the stadium yet again, as each owners seems to spend 2/3 years looking into it all.
Personally I think its just rumours, however FSG are ruled by there shareholders, so if they cant see it making cash long term, maybe they will get out now, while they could prob break even, take a small profit.
If it happens, I pray its not Amercians too. I don`t normally like to generalise, but they seem to have a different take on owning clubs, than what I would like.
ReplyDeleteFSG have always been about the money, I think that was clear to everyone, or should have been. There American, and knew nothing about football when buying us. I posted a while ago showing a buisness plan that is often used in cases like ours.
I accepted this as fine. Personally I think they wanted a slightly longer ownership, and maybe our league results have meant they are looking to get out now.
We were deamed a toxic asset when they brought us, thats a massive risk to buy, but have large upscale to it if you can make it work.
If you look at what they have done, they have done a lot of things very well, from a business not football side I mean.
Debt reduced, commerical success and reveue increased, club made stable.
They now have a "product" which is sellable at a far higher price than when they brought it. They have made the books work, yet left viable room for a new owner to still increase the clubs worth and profits. Making LFC a great buy for someone.
I think they were always a short term owner, that came in to sort the books, stablise the club and then sell it on. I personally dont have a issue with this, as we needed that to some extent.
Just GOT to be sold to the right people this time if it actually happens
FSG have denied it. The rumour was up for sale for £350 million which already sounds suspect.
ReplyDeleteArsenal, UTD and Villa all have American owners. Just because H & G were not fit to run LFC does not mean other Americans are the same.
Who do you want to be owned by? Some oil rich Sheik who will buy LFC as a hobby and if it goes pear-shaped he will take all his money and leave the club to vultures.
Anyone who thinks they are going to pack up and sell really need to smell the coffee. If they sell the club now they will lose huge amounts of money.
ReplyDeleteZanatos, how much money would FSG need to sell the club for them to make a profit? If you tell me £350 million which the rumour indicated then get ready to be laughed at.
if it gets us back to the top...in a nut shell yes......these oil rich sheiks own vast amount of high end real estate in England pal and and don't have a habit of upping sticks and selling.....they buy for kudos a lot of the time and id trust Arabs over Americans when it comes to money and loyalty 99 times over a 100
ReplyDeletenot as much as you rthink. Rougly, as I don`t have the accounts in front of me, they brought the club for £280mil, put in a £40mil loan and are somewhere around 20/30mil has been lost by the club since taking over, so yes not far off the 350mil mark. That is not laughable as there is a reason whoever made up the rumour used 350mil. Cause they prob worked it out lol. 350mil does seem spot on to break even. Its also a price which is about correct. FSG got the club cheaper due to it being a toxic asset and the sale being forced, they have balanced the books more so the increase in value represent a fair price.
ReplyDeleteIf you can explain why 350mil is so laughable, I would be very interested, however I doubt you can.
im quite happy to a city this is football nothing more nothing less...you either want to watch your team play real madrid or cardiff i know which one i want lifers to short
ReplyDeleteIf the Sheik that owns Man City does not see silverware arrive on a regular basis then he will get eventually get bored, take his stuff and leave City to rot.
ReplyDeleteshow me an example of where this has happened where sheiks have bought a prem club and left it to rot
ReplyDeleteyou are completely correct. The whole upping sticks thing is a issue raised by people who don`t understand how they work. Take Saudi Aramco for example, and the house of Saud in general. They own something like 11% of all Americas buissnes`s. They own large amounts as you said of high end retail and housing in America and Europe. They own other sports teams, mainly horse racing, which they transformed because "they love the sport".
ReplyDeleteThey are though , overall very aware of the power of money. They appear to buy into other countries, not just for the profits, but for the political power it helds. They invest in many areas, to increase both power, wealth and also status. There oil wont last forever, and they need a back up plan/plans.
City have been appalling in the CL. Having all the money in the world does not guarantee success after success.
ReplyDeleteWont happen mate. If you understand how they work you would understand this, as for starters they will get Silverware, secondly they the clubs arent play things, more means to different ends.
ReplyDeletethere are it this year pal and won the prem the other year thats not to bad
ReplyDeletelast one was modded. Short version is yes around 350mil. Club cost £280 mil, 40 loan has been put in, plus about 30mil loses made since owning. Ask yourself why did the reporter use 350mil? cause he worked it out lol. Its not hard to do, even with a limited knowledge of accounting. If you can explain why 350mil is so laughable, I would be very interested, however I doubt you can.
ReplyDelete350mil.
ReplyDeleteTrue, but for me I like the challenge. I actually get more of a buzz watching your team build up and then win. Same goes for players. Moving to a wining club makes ur medal kinda worthless, making ur own club win makes it great. Thats just me as a person though.
ReplyDeleteI only like stuff I have earnt.
Did they get silverware last season?
ReplyDeleteNever say never.
no, but they are a lot better than before... However I don`t want to be a "city" but im not blind, so wont deny it has helpped them.
ReplyDeleteYou may find this hard to understand but a lot of sheiks have all the money they need and seek kudos and influence they love the pom pom of ascott and the pa gentry that goes with it they also love the history of sport especially clubs which hold historic value...If they took over Liverpool they see it as owning a part of British sporting history...they also realize its a club which is supported and loved the world owner by millions thats an awful lot of people to have in your corner
ReplyDeletethats one season. Did Fergie win the league every year? nope. He is still a great manager? yep.
ReplyDeleteI want to see them win silverware next season...
ReplyDeleteNo silverware is going to make the Sheik one very unhappy rich fella.
Nail on the head mate. I think its just a lack of people understanding there culture that means they dont get it. As you know, I`m not a fan of pumping money in, and I completely get why you are, both make sense depending on your point of view, however one thing no one should be able to disagree is how they work.
ReplyDeletePeople seem to view them like children or something, who are buying a toy and will get bored... This isn`t the case, there grown adults who are some of the smartest business people in the world, who have overall far higher standards of principles than we now do.
you have two sides in a war with with guns one with catapults make your choice
ReplyDeleteThey are not going to sell, especially when they have seen no return in their investment.
ReplyDeleteThey are not making money of the club as it is but people seem to think they are daft enough to sell LFC.
well they where daft enough to buy it lol
ReplyDeletewell they where daft enough to buy it
ReplyDeleteits a shame my other answers never got through, but if you work it out 350mil is pretty much break even point. So it can be a good time to sell if, and its a big IF, you cant see the project working out long term
ReplyDeleteJust me m8. I place value on earning my stuff. The end cause is the same, you win. The difference is the sense of pride.
ReplyDeleteUnhappy, yes, you are prob right. Sell? maybe not. I`m sure they are aware of how competative the league is. I am also sure they are very happy for the massive increase in tourism gained from owning City. Pior to that, people where going to Dubai.
ReplyDeleteWhere is 350mill a break even point?
ReplyDeleteYou have nothing, no facts to back that up.
the world is a different place.....no offense but when Liverpool where the best we used to buy the best we didn't buy heaps of potential.. our history is littered with record signings why the sudden change of heart
ReplyDeleteActually I have loads of facts. If you learnt to read you would see I stated twice they have been blocked. However purely for you I will repeat.
ReplyDelete280mil buying club
40mil loan
30ish mil loses since owning club
Roughly 350mil
Do you honestly think the reporter didnt work this out first? haha. Sure use the argument they dont want to sell, but using the value is laughable as you can view there accounts online, and guess what 350mil is roughly right. (for a break even point).
So wheres your facts showing why 350 isnt?
makes no difference to me, I work on pride. thats me mate. You got your view, I have mine. It works for me so I am happy.
ReplyDeleteDid you see the message City put out when they appointed Pellegrini?
ReplyDeleteWin silverware or else you are gone.
problem for City is that they are not going to win the CL anytime soon and the EPL is going to get tougher to win as each season goes by.
If the Sheik gets bored City are screwed. END OF.
and also one very well known fella ...whose face and name is recognized the world over by people he could never have thought he would have influence over...politics is a greasy pole when you attend matches especially the big ones the people you meet range from politicians to actors to rock stars to business men and they all love football the world over...most powerful people in the world ( bar americans ) have a favorite team......you own a big club you not only meet the fans of that club but you meet the fans of the club they are playing..there is massive influence and connections to be made
ReplyDeleteEND OF... are the old classic got no argument so use a childish end line to somehow make your statement a 100% fact, when in fact its just your view.
ReplyDeleteThats there manager, what does that have to do with there owners? like I said, they will get silverware, and you just backed up why. Cause they will and do win.
it wont happen m8 ..they would hate the stigma of being called quitters or failures ...
ReplyDeleteWhere are you pulling those figures from? The Air?
ReplyDeleteEven if it is 350million they still would not sell.
Would you spend 350mil and sell for 350mil?
That would be daft.
if you are looking at negative equity its a pretty good idea
ReplyDeleteI tried not to use politics to much, however that is a very big reason. There is so much more than meets the eye to why they will own a football club. As I have stated elsewhere, they do the same with real estate. There is a big reason why some countries who have oil get invaded, and other dont. Never bite the hand that feeds you, and in the case of the Sauds, they feed us all. I dont want to get to into the politics though as this is a football thread.
ReplyDeleteClearly some people should not consider investing in a business if they do not intend to see their investment grow...
ReplyDeletethe chelsea owner is now world famous makes it so much harder to stab him with a poison brollie hahaha
ReplyDeleteGo look up who owns Malaga and go do further research and you will find thy are in financial trouble.
ReplyDeleteThey have even been banned from European competitions.
Stop with your insults.
ReplyDeleteNot the air. From there accounts, you can view on. go check them out and stop calling me a liar, by suggesting there not true. Jamie K can back these up as he posted the accounts before.
I am guessing you have never owned a businss? is that correct?
I own 2, but did own 3. The third didnt do that well, it took me 5 years to get out of debt with it, and the up side wasnt there, so I sold it at break even point. Its pretty common place actually. I used the money to go into my other two, which were doing better, they have done even better since doing that. Sometimes you make these calls.
life dont work that way. Everyone wants there business to grow, but sometimes it doesn`t, or not as you wanted. Shareholders may think there is a better use of 350mil.
ReplyDeletesomeone else who has worked in the city help me out here, I don`t want this to look like its just me being personal, as it really isnt.
I can`t think of a easier way to explain it Max, sorry.
Go look up the house of Saud.
ReplyDeletenever
ReplyDeletebut not impossible, you can never tell with the Russians haha
ReplyDeleteThe last time the club released its finacials it revealed that it had a debt of £87m.
ReplyDeleteHow will they break even if they had to sell the club for 350mil?
that just about sums up fsg ...thanks max
ReplyDeleteexactly as I said. Read above. I stated 40mil loan and 30mil ish in losses.
ReplyDeleteThats 70mil. I couldnt remember if it was 30mil losses or 40mil hense I put the ish. You will see though that it is around the correct price. Take out the 280mil the club was brought for. That gives you 367mil. So while 350mil isnt spot on, for a report it will do. I dont think reporter, or myself should be getting the figure to the nearest mil. If the sale did happen I dont think you would find out the nearest figure till it was done.
max will drain you hes like a forum vampire
ReplyDeletehaha, funny but a bit cruel Gilly. I am really trying to be decent about explaining it all, however prob not doing the best job.
ReplyDeleteI just find it offending when I have used real evidence to base my argument on, to then be called a lair, which was based from him having zero evidence, for him to to post im wrong by actually giving me the evidence I first suggested.
How did that happen?
This is prob the longest amount of replies done on here for a topic which was prob just a random rumour lol
Kevin Prince Boateng is up for sale. Much better option.
ReplyDeleteIt does not matter what figures get taken from where.
ReplyDeleteWe are talking about hundreds of millions of pounds mate not pennies.
I highly doubt they bought the club just to sell it on a couple of years later to break even. For what? Just for the sake of them owning LFC?
You have it your way and I will have it mine.
It does not matter what figures get taken from where.
ReplyDeleteWe are talking about hundreds of millions of pounds mate not pennies.
I highly doubt they bought the club just to sell it on a couple of years later to break even. For what? Just for the sake of them owning LFC?
We shall see where City end up in 5-10 years from now.
ReplyDeleteSorry mate, but I and many others wont take 350 million pounds and invest it to get nothing in return.
ReplyDeleteNot that kind of money.
I would like cover for this position. In fairness to Lucas, he did well when he came back. Everyone credit Carra with us being better at the back, but Lucas also came back around that time. I`m sure it was a case of both that made the difference.
ReplyDeleteI dont think Allen did that bad as cover for the DM role, but he also didn`t do that great, or not well enough for what I would like anyway.
Is this lad the one? I`m not sure. Clearly a lot of clubs rate him, but I am a bit unsure on how much experince he has. I would prefer someone who has a bit more behind them for such a key role.
We will, but I can assure you Max, I`m not that bothered that I will be placing much importance on it to the point I will think, ha that showed Max lol.
ReplyDeleteUefa will not allow the owner of Malaga to sort out their finances.
ReplyDeleteGo read it up. Uefa gave Malaga (The Club) till March this year to sort out their finances and they the Malaga (The club) could not catch up with their bills.
Their owners money is worthless to Malaga. If he puts in any of his own money then Uefa will pull in and cause more damage for them.
no cause you dont have it lol. So how could you?
ReplyDeleteWhile ur mates who do have it have clearly told you they wouldn`t invest it for a break even (or you are plucking from thin air? which I notice you havent said sorry about yet, no man enough too? since I proved you wrong and proved your insults to be incorrect) , there is a lot of other cases which show people who actually had that money did. This isnt based on a view like yours, but hard evidence which you can find on google if you so wanted.
If your buisness isnt going to make you any money. It is sometimes smarter to accept that and get out before you loss it all. Sometimes that is the best move.
You cant just say, I want a profit, so I am getting one. Some things don`t work out, and so you "cut your losses".
Is any of this making sense Max? if not, just say, as I cant see much point going over it much more. I have kinda tried my best without belittling like you do, to show how some deals work, if you prefer to take the view that all business make a profit that is your call, and I wont try to make you see otherwise and I do respect you are entitled to your own view.
and City? PSG? Zenit? Anzi?
ReplyDeleteI am using Malaga as an example. These things could happen to City as well.
ReplyDeleteThey cannot keep on fixing their books. one day they will be found out.
As you don`t have that much, or I am guessing you dont I will take it that is not from expereince?
ReplyDeletebusiness don`t work that way, sorry. If you want to think every business always makes a profit and always sells for more than brought that is your view. I respect that. Again I did give you a nice long explanation, however everything today is getting blocked. So I`m going to pop out for a while.
If at any point you decide to say sorry for your insults, be my guest. I have given you the chance. If you prefer to stand by your attempt to belittle me, then also fine.
They might be, however that doesn`t mean the owners got bored as you suggested.
ReplyDeleteDont get me wrong Max. I dislike the money in football know, just I can also see that it has worked for some clubs. I dislike a lot of things, but I try at least to also see them without bias.
Calling me childish?
ReplyDeleteGo on, run along now.
Thanks but I prefer an owners who cannot afford to run away when they have put in hundreds of millions of pounds of their hard earned money whereas somebody who has a bank balance that will make you go blind can easily walk away from anything they have invested in.
ReplyDeleteThat is the difference.
No, I was saying you use belittlement, which you do. Most posts are filled with lines at the start along the lines of "anyone who thinks this needs to smell the coffee" or "Plucking stuff from thin air" or "END OF" I could go on. Each post I try to explain stuff without the use of belittlement.
ReplyDeleteIronic as it is, that you suggested childish, then followed it by a somewhat childish statement on the line after.
you Suggested I had no FACTS. I showed them, which you actually agreed with when you stated the 87mil debt, You suggest they were from thin air, which I proved wrong. Yet when I ask you to either stop, or say sorry, you don`t.
I have read many of your posts to other people on here, and you do use belittlement a lot.
I fully understand you will have a different point of view to me, and maybe you should start to understand others will from you too. I don`t however use belittlement on you, because your view is as worth while as mine, just different.
But I am not stopping you from posting your view?
ReplyDeleteYou have proven nothing to me. I can guarantee that FSG are not planning on selling the club at this point of time.
Prove me wrong on that.
And I find it very funny how you take swipes at me for belittlement when you are agreeing with gilstrap who is making snide remarks at Americans...
ReplyDeleteNo, but Belittlement is clearly banned as stated in the rules of the site.
ReplyDeleteI have proved that 350mil is a correct point for breaking even, which you said it wasnt. That was the main point of this convo, which I proved. Up to you if you listen of deny the accounts.
I am giving you the chance to say sorry for using belittlement. Serious dude, I am actually doing you a favour here so stop hating on people who have a different point of view. You must know by now Jamie will hit "ban if he reads belittlement, its not that a well kept secret. I am, however being a adult and giving you a chance to say sorry, thus hopefully Jamie wont ban as I like reading different points of views.
because that isnt personal, you personally attack posters. Gilstrap made a remark about Americans owning football clubs. As none of us own one, me agreeing with him that they arent the best owners is in no way belitteing to you. I also stated in my reply to him that I dont like to generalise but felt they have a different interest in the club than owners of other countries. That is a long way from personally belittling someone on here, and not really even written in a insulting way either.
ReplyDeleteWhere have i attacked or insulted you directly?
ReplyDeleteProve to me that FSG are going to sell now.
ReplyDeleteWhy Max? I am sorry but I am not going to spend all day on here proving point after point wrong, to be insulted in return, and then have demands made of me. Your original point was 350mil is laughable, and doesnt work out. I think I have proved that it does work out. The fact you wont admit that, is not anything to do with me.
ReplyDeleteHowever I don`t see why the bench marks should then change and I should have to do another 50 posts proving something different. I gave you the chance to say sorry. You wont, yet still demand I prove something different. The fact you wont is a reflection of you not me.
I also dont think its far on Jamie or the site for it to be so clogged up with such a long thread. I am sure other readers dont really want to read this either.
for everyone else who uses the site, I am very sorry for the massive clogging up that has happened.
I have asked you to go look up where I have attacked you or insulted you.
ReplyDeleteClick on my profile and have a look.
and while you are at it, copy and paste the comments where I attacked or insulted you.
ReplyDeletePlease do not make things up.
and while you are at it, copy and paste the comments where i attacked or insulted you.
ReplyDeleteMax I am not wasting more time re-reading your posts. It really isnt that big a deal. You know exactly where you used belittlement, and I even quoted some of the lines used in a post above, which you replied too. As I said, for me, I don`t think its fair on the site to carry on with this convo. You know where you posted them, however as you refuse to be decent and say sorry, I think the best bet is we just leave this convo be and let others enjoy the topic. I will email Jamie and see if he has the time to read over the convo, and ban either me or you if either has used belittlement. That way it takes it out of our hands. That seems the fairest thing to do in my eyes. I am more than happy if I have used belittlement to have a ban as it would be correct. You should be happy to as you feel certain you dont use insults in your posts, so we all win. Can we though then agree to let this convo be, so we dont mess up the topic anymore? bygones?
ReplyDeleteCopy and paste the comments where I belittled, attacked or insulted you.
ReplyDeleteGo ahead. Show everyone. Don't make things up.
Show me where i have belittled, attacked or insulted you.
ReplyDeleteAnyone can click on my profile and have a look. I have nothing to hide.
No Max, enough is enough. Please just move on.
ReplyDeleteThe end.
ReplyDeleteEvery Lfc fan concurs we need a strong competition for Lucas. A bit off topic, permit my digression, although I am tired of LS and his transfer and for the fact that I want him out, why are daily mail and bleacher report pushing so much for LFC to sell him? Their articles and views have been one dimensional. In a heartbeat, LS is a cheat, racist, disloyal (imho, I agree to all) but they reckon he will be a fantastic, problem free signing for Arsenal. Hypocrisy of the highest order!
ReplyDeleteI'd prefer Diame or Kevin Boateng over him but we might end up signing him because he's a "prospect".
ReplyDeletehahaha i warned you about max
ReplyDeleteboth him and allen
ReplyDeleteEtienne Capoue or Diame, relying on Lucas is a mistake! We really need strength & athleticism. For BR to ignore this is sheer negligence! Lets see how we come we big physical teams-Stoke, Hamers etc get stuck in! We lack ball winners!
ReplyDeleteyou may well do but it doesn't mean Liverpool have to ...don't confuse the two haha
ReplyDeleteindeed, and they are a football club, so I guess winning makes more sense
ReplyDeleteOk, not in the prem but in La Liga: Malaga
ReplyDeleteSorry about that. Nothing wrong with what you wrote. Blasted word filter being over-sensitive again.
ReplyDeleteZanatos's point is correct. The £350m figure is not entirely accurate (the press rarely get the figures right), but it's in the general breaking-even ball-park.
ReplyDeleteNo
ReplyDeleteBut who says LFC is not going to make FSG money? They are not going to sell. You cannot prove me wrong on that. They have come out and said the rumours are rubbish but you still seem to have an idea that they they are going to sell?
ReplyDeleteAnd I have not insulted you. You are just making that up to suit your view. Which posts of mine have been removed? If there were any that were 'insulting' or inappropriate it would have been removed by Jaimie?
That is all good but Jaimie, quick question for you though?
ReplyDeleteWould you invest 350 million pounds just to break even?
Thanks for the info. I'm on the same boat as you. I'd rather wait for the stadium to be completed before FSG began talks to sell to the Saudis. Liverpool needs a better and bigger stadium quicksmart. Am I the only one who thinks that 60000 is still too small? It's probably a par level for a big club, but not anything like Old Trafford, Bernabeau and Camp Nou.
ReplyDeleteYour welcome. I do agree that 60k as a max isnt enough, maybe today it is, but that would need extending again in the future. While I love everything to do with our current home, the only good option for me is new stadium, so it can be built at 60k if needed but have the structure made so it can be extended up to anything as high as 80k in the future. Anfield, in my eyes would prob get 60k max.
ReplyDeletewell, if LFC bought all of the properties surrounding Anfield, what's stopping them from pushing it to 80K?
ReplyDeleteDiame would be an excellent shout. Ironic that despite Dalglish's multitude of transfer errors with massive amounts of money his last act would have been to sign Diame on a free.
ReplyDeleteWe were on sale at bargain basement prices for a year. Where were they then? Instead of wishing upon a dream let's deal with what we know: they had no interest in us when we were virtually giving the club away. Why would they buy us now with the infrastructure, cost and performance challenges even higher than before? Is anyone even thinking anymore?
