Yes Please: 'Fantastic' €24m 86-goal star hints at Prem move. Replace Suarez at LFC...?

One-time Liverpool target Roberto Soldado has hinted that he could leave Valencia this summer, and with Luis Suarez almost certainly leaving Anfield this summer, could the Spanish striker be a viable replacement?

In an interview last night, the prolific striker suggested that a summer move could be on the cards. He told Movistar:

“I...will not close the door to anything.

“I also see that there are colleagues who have left Spain and things are going well.

“The Premier League and the Bundesliga are very attractive for any player and we would all like to enjoy something there."

Liverpool scouted Soldado several times during Kenny Dalglish's second spell at Anfield but the club baulked at the €20m fee Valencia demanded during the January 2012 transfer window.

Six months later, the Spaniard revealed that he rejected a €30m move to Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool's regular transfer rivals. He told Superdeporte:

"I knew about the interest from Tottenham. My agents told me about it. The offer was presented, but turned down".

Last summer, Soldado signed a new deal with Valencia, which runs until 2017, and after securing the extension, Valencia president Manuel Llorente told UEFA.com:

"Soldado's performance has been fantastic, everyone has seen it. He is key figure in the Valencia side for his winning mentality, and desire to make Valencia bigger".

Luis Suarez continues to disrespect Liverpool by incessantly whoring himself out to Real Madrid, and when he leaves, the Reds will need a top class replacement. Could €24m-rated Soldado be a viable option? His stats for Valencia are pretty impressive:

* 2012-13: 34 goals/6 assists in 46 apps.
* 2011-12: 27 goals/6 assists in 51 apps.
* 2012-11: 25 goals/3 assists in 42 apps.

* TOTAL: 86 goals/15 assists (101 combined) in 139 apps.
* Goal every 1.6 games.
* Goal/Assists every 1.3 games.

* LA LIGA ONLY: Goal/assist every 108 minutes (1 every 1.2 games)

Stats: OPTA

At the age of 28, Soldado - who played against Suarez last night in the Confederations Cup - is in the prime of his career; he's vastly experienced at domestic and international level, and as Valencia's captain, he's clearly a winner and a leader. Should Liverpool pursue him when Suarez leaves...?

I would sign him, his finish yesterday was a good one, also Suarez goal, class free kick, hopefully Real Madrid sign cavani :)

  2. good player indeed and of course would be a good addition to the team, however in regards to stats, I think its always important to look at how the goals are scored. He takes there pens, which can add up to 10 goals a year. Yes you still need to score them but its more important how many they score from open play to me. Example Suarez didn`t take our pens (not often, and not like we got any). This makes his goal tally a lot more impressive than say a player who scored the same amount but half from pens. This goes for all players. I`ve have seen some mids with great stats for goals then when you look into it you see they are the teams pen taker.

Another note is while he is and would be a good addition, when looking for replacements I think you have to look for players who play the same, or same positions. It`s no good just signing a out and out striker to replace someone who worked in a free roaming role, as if you already had that in a player, they wouldn`t work as a team as you would want.

Note: I`m not saying this guy is just a out and out fox in the box. Just as a mute point.

  3. He's a good player, no doubt about it, but as things stand, Real seem to be very reluctant indeed to put in a decent offer for Suaréz. We may have the joy to watch his skill and the pain in the posterior to him being quoted offering himself to Real like a whore for yet another year.

    ReplyDelete
  4. what you think we go for munian instead he is young and he looks like a suarez esque player minus the terrible attitude

    ReplyDelete
  5. I actually hope Real sign Suaréz, for 65m Pounds.

    ReplyDelete
  6. That sounds good to me.

    ReplyDelete
  7. suarez as made some very kind comments about lfc as well ,shame that they get missed out by most websites as they tend to print the bits that they like(the shock affect)and when you take zantos,s point into the argument (penaltys that suarez does not take)

    ReplyDelete
  8. thats asking for too much and id settle for 40m + morata

    ReplyDelete
  9. Indeed he has made some very nice remarks, and I do agree most quotes he has said are cherry picked from a larger piece of writing. I`m still not happy with him though.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I've been raving about that kid for years but we'll never sign him. I can't quite understand what the problem is with him, to me he looks a brilliant player, but he doesn't seem to attract any definite attention. Same with Llorente

    ReplyDelete
  11. I dunno about Iker. Clearly he is very talented, but he has a long way to go yet. He just doesn`t score enough, anywhere near enough for that matter.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I wish. Can`t see anything over 40mil though. What with Suarez constantly declaring his desire to move to them, and Surez biting etc, his value is lower than his talent imo. Bale would go for more purely as it appears a harder target to get. Once a player openly courts another team his value always drops. This is one of a few reasons I`m so angry with Suarez right now.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Said about him for the last few years. Class act.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Soldado is a good option, however I think if/when we lose Suarez, we should go for Jackson Martinez. I think we should stop P*ssy footing about and go for it. We had a chance to get him for 8 mil and choked, so he gets to bang goals in for fun elsewhere. We should go get him while he's still available for circa £20m. With him cout, Studge, Miki, Asp ...Dammn we'll have one helluva team!

    ReplyDelete
  15. lol..A bit ambitious ain't it?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Martinez is a great player, but I can`t see how you play both him and Sturridge in the same team? They both play the same role and we only really play with one true out and out striker. The other attacking positions are filled with players who play just off the striker or out wide of strikers. I can`t see Martinez playing just off the striker.

    ReplyDelete
  17. That's just it, he should just shut the F up. Why does he need to keep running his mouth? He p*sses and moans about Oh the British press, they no like me, but then goes and says dumb sh*t like I'll give my soul for Real Madrid. Nobody cares!! lol

    ReplyDelete
  18. i agree but we are better with him than without him and anyone who says we are not is deluded(and that includes you jaimie no offence intended )

    ReplyDelete
  19. Yeah but Studge is prone to injury, he can also play in more than one role so should just deal with it IMO. If he wasn't so prone to injury I'd completely agree.

    ReplyDelete
  20. People do care, thats why they print it. I agree with you though, however he is saying it to force a move imo. Make us have no option to sell him, as tbh he is clearly only interested in whats good for him. In some respects fair enough, gotta look out for yourself right.

    ReplyDelete
  21. he said he gives his soul in every game he plays at what ever club he is at or as been at big difference

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yes we are better with him as a team imo, although im sure we did better when he didnt play than when he did lol. But I do agree as a team we are more dangerous having him in it, than not having him.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yeah but surely he's ruining his rep even more? He keeps saying that he has his reputation to think about and then disrespects himself and more importantly LFC by shooting his mouth off. If he was that concerned about his rep and moving he'd just hand in a transfer request and let his agent do the rest. If he shut up there'd be nothing to misinterpret.

Why would you tell your boss to stick it? 1-get you the sack 2-mark on your career 3-when you go for job interviews they wouldn't employ you.

    ReplyDelete
  25. yes great attitude i am sure he would respond to that

    ReplyDelete
  26. some people do not live in a world where we conform to the norm if we all did life would be boring

    ReplyDelete
  27. I don't care, players shouldn't be allowed to do stuff like this

    ReplyDelete
  28. what he doesnt realise is that that the ball is very much in our court ....... we can simply keep him in reserves and since its world cup year soon he needs games so he cant simply sulk ....uruguay have no dearth of attacking talent .......our management should man up a bit and make an example out of him that way all players realise that they are not bigger than the club

    ReplyDelete
  29. Totally agree, but will never happen.

    ReplyDelete
  30. We can't ask them for too much. If they want a player who is contracted to us for another five years, we can ask for whatever we want. 40m + Morata is too little. Torres went for 50m and IMHO Suaréz is the better player. Morata isn't worth 15m.

Looks like Mkhitaryan is flying in for a medical this week to complete the 25 million move, (according to reports) :D

    ReplyDelete
  32. I hope the club plays hard-ball then.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Ive got a feeling Liverpool might tell Suarez no go, I mean look at it if he out performs last season he will be worth a lot more, imagine the pull if he gets Liverpool into the top 4, or .... even higher.

I think FSG might hold out for a record breaker with him, the prices I've seen for him are pitiful, yes 50 million for him is pitiful. Players like Suarez don't come around very often and when they do the go to Spain for ridiculous money.

Free kicks, goals from open play, making something out of nothing, tick, tick, tick.

Tell me who else on the world stage plays with the amazement he brings. Ive seen the best defenders going just look like its their first ever game.

Phenomenal player = a phenomenal price

    ReplyDelete
  34. The entire match i was thinking go on go on hit a real player bite one... JUST FALL OUT. but no lol perfectly calm and then that free kick .... I'm thinking Mr Suarez can keep his lid on when it suits him

    ReplyDelete
  35. Absolutely. From a football point of view we shouldn't consider letting him go at all.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Is it really with the prices being thrown around for everyone elses big strikers?

And lets not forget Suarez has done it in the BPL where every team is a hard game not some league with 14 clubs that should be in the next 2 divisions down

    ReplyDelete
  37. I'd be even more proud (No such word as prouder is there?) if the club did this. I just think if we add to the squad with the players we've apparently signed and are going to sign, with him still here we have a better chance for CL or better next season. Thing is you're right, he'll be better off cause everyone will be scrambling for him offering silly wages and we'd use the money to reinforce with more appreciative players win-win

    ReplyDelete
  38. but if we play hardball they may back off .....hence i gun for a lower sum .......bale is their priority not suarez .......

    ReplyDelete
  39. yea I just read that. The price seems to be rising, which does worry me. I still don`t think he is worth more than 15mil. That said I guess you are worth what the clubs feels you are to them.

    ReplyDelete
  40. That £25m probably includes his salary for the duration of the 5 year deal

    ReplyDelete
  41. Yep, football in that sense has gone to mud. If it wasn`t for the fact i`m too old to not still enjoy it, I would def pick another sport to follow if I was a kid. If there is any sport which isn`t now ruined by money.

    ReplyDelete
  42. liverpool4life5658:27 pm, June 17, 2013

Agree about the price rising, but if he makes a impact then it's fine and agree he scored 25 goals from midfield, but the owner is a billionaire he always asks for crazy money haha :-)

    ReplyDelete
  43. liverpool4life5658:28 pm, June 17, 2013

I don't think it is tbh but who knows haha :-)

    ReplyDelete
  44. Yes, but I would never sell the story to the companies rivials. I can assure you no company in business would then touch you. Telling your boss to stick it, and telling the media your company work in you don`t want to be there are two different things. One is behind closed doors, the other is making a mockery of your current employers.

    ReplyDelete
  45. You can not conform to the norma without having to resort to being total A-hole.

    ReplyDelete
  46. That wasn`t my point, of which you know. Can`t hide from the truth Jas, no matter how much you would like to.

    ReplyDelete
  47. we did, and we finished low. lol

    ReplyDelete
  48. Yep. The fee is a lot, but if he makes the difference and we get fourth then its worth it. Thing with fees that high, I expect the player to be truly world class, which I don`t think he has proved to be just yet. He might become that, but for 25mil I expect the player to be that right now. I really like the player and really want him here, just a bit wary of the fee.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I would gladly keep the best player we've had in quite some time. RM can back off as much as they want. This might even teach Suaréz a lesson or two. He will look like a real pr1ck, if RM don't buy him. Well, he may do anyhow. I don't (or didn't) go around telling everyone that I would like to sleep with Andie MacDowell circa 1995, because I needed a change.

    ReplyDelete
  50. By the way, I wouldn't be too sure that Real get Bale.

    ReplyDelete
  51. liverpool4life5658:41 pm, June 17, 2013

Agreed but don't you think we got off lightly? Haha, city payed 34 million for a player from their, and anzi, paid €35 million for willian, and yep he needs to hit it off straight away, he reminds of lampard tho, he knows when to come into the box.. And can use both feet to score, :)

    ReplyDelete
  52. Thats called a hierarchy lol.

    ReplyDelete
  53. If the fee actually is 25mil, then no I don`t think we will have off lightly regardless of any other deals they done lol.

    ReplyDelete
  54. u need to see the denmark vs armenia game zan if eriksen is worth 15 m (he did nothing that match) then mhik who created scored and did so much running must defi be worth more .....what i like about him is he has a great engine on him

    ReplyDelete
  55. I don`t think they are going for Bale. Dunno why but I actually think Bale will still be at the spuds next season.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Well, I'm still relatively young and still have ambitions. :-)
There were unreliable reports that RM had offered 20m. THAT was ambitious. We've paid more for him. RM are one of the clubs I really don't like and I think we should not be bullied into selling at their term by them at all. The guy has a contract for a further five years with us. No-one forced him to sign it. No-one asked him to bit an opposing player. We call the shots.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Yep, that's how I see it, too.

    ReplyDelete
  58. real must pay 70m pounds for suarez!!! we need the money for better signings

    ReplyDelete
  59. though id rather suarez stays

    ReplyDelete
  60. What are you on about? That is precisely what clubs should do with wantaway players. They have a contract, they should honour it, and if they don't like it, tough sh1t. Plus, I don't think you got the 'Home Alone' reference ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  61. I badly hope RM go for suarez, what about 60m + morata ?
    Lets kick the canibal out!!

    ReplyDelete
  62. What you seem to ignore is that if Suarez kept his mouth shut, there would be nothing to cherry-pick in the first place. In any event, he's said what he said - whether he said 10 other positive things about LFC in the same interview is totally irrelevant, and doesn't change the meaning of his Madrid comments.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Ah well, then I bring up Mkhitaryan's Armenia losing to the mighty Malta just a few days before that. Malta only had won once before in a competitive match since 1974.
Eriksen, though, I think has been over-hyped quite a bit. I personally think that Ajax would like to sell him and get a lot of money, so they have space in their team for Victor Fischer.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Agreed. Players have been walking over clubs for to long now and really it should be stopped. Players are treated as gods, let off anything they do and even when showing zero respect for the fans who help pay there wages, still treated as a god.

Contracts seem to be very one sided right now. There purely so if the player gets injured he gets paid for a few years. There now worthless to clubs other than for a fee when selling.

btw, nice to see you using "1" to get around your own word filter lol.

    ReplyDelete
  65. We have to do that, either to get more money, or to teach suarez a lesson!!
If he stays I want him to wash gerrards boots ever Single day!!

    ReplyDelete
  66. Yeah, friggin' word filter. I get stung by it on a regular basis!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Should they offer that, we shouldn't hesitate at all and accept it. In a year or two he will complain about the Spanish media.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Honestly, we can say whatever figures we want, but if he goes I bet it aint for a penny over 40mil. Rubbish as that might be. Suarez has got the club bent over. By openly talking about his move, he knows the club is forced to sell him or be stuck with a unhappy player and risk losing more money when he doesn`t perform next season due to being unhappy. It`s a low shot from him which will work pefectly. This is why real apparently only wanted to pay 20mil.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I am sure that Suaréz would still perform to his highest standard should he not get his move.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Yeah I took a gamble and used a i instead of a 1 for the same word a few mins about and got shanked! lol

    ReplyDelete
  71. He should even wash Gerrard's undies every day.

Joking aside, the club has to make it absolutely clear to him, that his behaviour is not acceptable. Who does he think he is?

    ReplyDelete
  72. Thing with using one game Rah, is on the one before he didn`t do well against Malta. Overall though I do like the player a lot, still just question the fee. 25mil is a aweful lot of money for a player who hasn`t played in a major league.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Perhaps, but the speculation about his future would be constant. From the first day of the season, there's be speculation about whether he'd leave in January; he'd be asked about it all the time, and we'd inevitably get even more touting comments like we've had over the last month. Then, if he stayed after January, the speculation would continue through to the summer. It would be a gigantic distraction, and it wouldn't be good for the club.

    ReplyDelete
  74. prob very true, but he does seem somewhat unable to control basic emotions. If he felt really p1ssed off that we didn`t let him go, he might play up a bit. Second guessing though and I`m not going to beef on the guy for something he hasn`t done yet as that would be unfair, and I`m trying to view this as unbiased and fairly as I can.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Interesting take on it. The constant speculation as you say might cause to much unrest at the club, esp if we don`t start the season well. I still stand by my view that he is acting as he is to force a move, knowing we have no real option other than to sell him to Real, regardless of if they low ball us.

I`m guessing he has had contact from Real too, as he has name slung them way to much for it to be pure chance, as he is ruling out lots of other clubs who might have gone in for him.

    ReplyDelete
  76. My mind is wandering as to what Van Gaal would say/do right now. I have this funny image in my head of Van Gaal going nuts lol.

This is one of my negatives in my thoughts on Rodgers. He is too weak on players at times.

    ReplyDelete
  77. With that behavior - without any doubt...

I still understand him in some aspects, he isn't good in speaking english, bet his family is only communicating in Spanish all the time. Would be hard for his daughter to grow up, go to school etc ...
I'm not saying his behavior is understandable, but I see what hes thinking - apart from his badly desire to play CL and relax every evening in his villa next to CR and go to gym with him - whatever ...

    ReplyDelete
  78. Morata isn`t worth more than 5mil tops imo.

    ReplyDelete
  79. You made a good point here, I wouldn't have seen it that way. But your right it would damage our club more and more, get the feeling suarez is an enormous timebomb, nobody knows how to deal with him

    ReplyDelete
  80. I think you're right about contact with Real. We all know that football is underhand, and no one respects the 'no tapping-up' rule. All clubs are doing it, they just keep it on the sly.

The other thing to consider is forward planning. How can you effectively build a team for the future on the shoulders of someone who is not going to be here? Rodgers should blood players who are going to form the core of the team for years to come, otherwise overall progression of the *team* could be handicapped.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I think Rodgers will get rawer time by time; at least I hope so. Sometimes I have the feeling he doesn't know in wich relation he stands to his players ...

    ReplyDelete
  82. Forward planning is important, although it can be argued that if keeping a player even for one season gets you into the CL, you can then buy better players the season after. My only issue with the idea of building a core for years to come, without thinking about winning today is them players we sign for the years to come will just jump ship too once a higher placed club comes in for them.

I do like building for the future, but feel it has to be mixed with building (getting a team) who can win next season too.

    ReplyDelete
  83. But if you're in a great position (as a club) for example top 4 , and better teams come to bid for you players you can play hard-ball with them.

Bit of topic but I think bale is hyped at the moment. Press and people value him to high in my opinion... He's a class player, but I don't think he will ever be the next CR. 100m is just to much for him. I personally value suarez as high as bale, but suarez manners and behavior lowers his price dramatically... Whatever when CR joined real, he set the premier league on fire, while bale doesn't do that, he's ways above average but he's not even close to messi and CR

    ReplyDelete
  84. completely agree

    ReplyDelete
  85. You're right, and I really hope the club will charge him for that, if he stays or not doesn't matter he should be punished for his actions

    ReplyDelete
  86. Don't know really. How was it after RM didn't get CR straight away? Did it damage them, or did they win the league?

It basically depends on what we make out of it (imho). We as supporters should accept and realise that he will be gone rather sooner than later. The media can publish crap all day long if that's the case. I can't see the damage for the club in such a scenario. Maybe Rodgers could come out and tell the world that he acknowledges that Suaréz might want to leave one day, but that the club is bigger than one man anyway. There is a saying in German and I'll try to translate it. It describes what we should do with the media: take the wind out of their sails.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Suarez plays the no.10 role not striker since Sturridge signed.

    ReplyDelete
  88. When RM came calling for CR, they refused to sell, too. They kept him for another year and got a shitload of money for him. If they can do that, we can do that, too.

    ReplyDelete
  89. If we can prove that they have been tapping him up, and that is possible as Suaréz talks too much anyway, then RM might be in for a transfer ban.

Your take on team building has two sides. Players will always come and go. Should we not play Gerrard any more because he will retire soon?

    ReplyDelete
  90. Hard-ball like we did with Mascherano, whom we sold for less than we had paid. Unfortunately, it doesn't always work out the way that benefits us most, but in case of a player who has five more years on his contract, I am quite optimistic that we are in quite a good bargaining position.

Soldado to Lfc...why e heck should we keep luis, soldado 4 me

    ReplyDelete
  92. lol u must admit it will be extremly funny and to think odemwingie looked stupid suarez will be made a even bigger joke by the media lol

    ReplyDelete
  93. I was thinking about this very scenario the other day.

While the emotional side of me likes it, the practical side of me doesn't.

Too big a risk. What happens if he sulks for a season and his value plummets to 20m?

I'd rather cash out now at this point and reinforce the team with players who actually want to be here and show their appreciation for a club and its fans while they have stuck by him through thick and thin (sometimes even when it was wrong to do so).

    ReplyDelete
  94. well they left that to zidane and that man is a god .... i wouldnt be surprised if zidane manages to turn his head

    ReplyDelete
  95. well lets just hope then rodgers can use his man management skills to get mhik firing again :)

    ReplyDelete
  96. lets hope malta was just a one off incident lol .....i just dont like eriksen lol call me biased but to me he is like a sloth .....slow sluggish lazy with occasional brilliance .......he reminds me of berbatov ......mhiktaryan however gives the the impresion of dirk kuyt .....we may need his engine we have seen countles times prev season what wonders hendos energy does to the team

    ReplyDelete
  97. lol...You did though

    ReplyDelete
  98. Funny thing is that Bale had inferior stats to Suarez. Less goals, less assists, less ley passes.
The press are falling over themselves to praise him. One thing he did do though- he scored 9 winning goals which is excellent. His goals mattered more.
He didn't play well at the start of the season though- I hope he stays, cos I don't think his goals will be winning goals in that many games again and I don't want Spurs with a pot full of cash buying all our targets again

    ReplyDelete
  99. Don't think any player can sulk and lose form in World Cup year..

    ReplyDelete
  100. Oh for a quiet life eh? You already know my views on the tarnish effect that seems to be unquantified anyway.
I've already argued that we can improve the side overall if we get £50m + for Suarez. I can't help thinking that the figures for with and without are slightly misleading as when he first came we were playing like horsesh1t during Kenny's 2nd half of the season.
Do the figures still show the same thing using just Rodgers' league games? Be interested to know if those figures are available- I'm just trying to get my head round why we would be better without a player who scores 23 goals in 33 games over a season. We did get 6 v Newcastle, I guess that helps...

    ReplyDelete
  101. One possible reason is when you have a super star in your team everything starts going through them. As a example Suarez might score 23 goals, but the rest of the team 0. Without that player you wont get his 23 goals, but 3 other players might score 10 each as the play is flowing through various people, making it harder for the other team to defend against, giving you 30 goals (these are just made up examples in terms of numbers).

The other possible reason might be that players start to rely on a player, thus when he is out they all step up there game.

One more reason could be that Suarez does miss a lot of chances, dispite scoring a lot. Maybe other players took more of the chances he missed???

Lastly, maybe we just by luck played worse teams when he was out? nothing more than chance.

    ReplyDelete
  102. With own goals being 4th highest scorer, maybe you're right. We had to set up for him until January, doubt we would have done well without him then..
He did miss an awful lot of shots though, and shot when he could have passed too. We will need to share scoring around far more in the future whether he stays or goes. Maybe do what Fergie did with CR and demand 1 more season.
Either way- no less than £50m+, he has better figures than £85m Bale...

  103. He missed 5 last season, 8 the season before. Doesn't get injured often

    ReplyDelete
  104. As I have said before, I would like to keep him, purely as he is a very talented player. The team does look better with him in it, but if he goes, and it is to a team abroad and we get min 40mil, if not more then I would also be fine with that. The main thing is one way or the other it happens quickly so all the press talk he is doing can stop.

Play hardball and get 50mil, and I think we could strengthen the team as a whole as lot better than just keeping him. I think due to our current situation, that cash will be more useful buying us two or three top players, if not more than just having him.

Already for 42mil we have (or could sign due to links)

    Toure
    Aspa
    Alberto
    Henrikh
    Mignolet

Them five alone in exchange for one player seems good to me. It gives us a lot more strength in depth and a stronger squad. This isn`t counting any other money from the kitty and sales of Carroll etc which would mean we would still prob have another 30mil to spend, maybe more. Another two top players maybe? The team would surely be stronger overall. You could still buy another defender a DM and another striker or winger.

  105. agree, unless they make a huge push towards the end of the window i just dont see it.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Thats how i it with Bale also, Im not saying he's not a great player but he's not the second coming as the media are making out

    ReplyDelete
  107. At this point i dont think he cares, If he ends up at RM and scores a few goals no one will care what he does/says off the field.
Although if he comes back to LFC, AWKWAR!!

    ReplyDelete
  108. .......awwwwww :P

    ReplyDelete
  109. lol it did shut Tevez up, i like it

    ReplyDelete
  110. I don't see Suarez sulking, it's just not in his nature. He's fiercely competitive and I don't think he's lying when he says that no matter who he plays for he's gives absolutely 100%. He might not be happy off the pitch, but his passion for football tends to over-ride anything else in his life. The club is in a position to demand he stays, if they think that is best. It's a good thing for Liverpool, we're not being forced to do anything. We either get the fee we want or we keep the player. I see merit in keeping the player, I also think we'll do OK if we take the money and invest elsewhere. Probably still leaning towards keeping him at this stage.

    ReplyDelete
  111. I am interested to know just what is really going on with this Suarez business. I distinctly remember Rodgers talking about players (mainly about Suarez) going out on international duty and that he has no control on what the media says. There is also word going around in regards to the translation being taken out of context. One second Suarez is saying he loves Liverpool and that he has a contract with them, and that the media will not drive him out, and that Liverpool will listen since his situation isn't great in England, and then he's all of a sudden saying he wants to leave Liverpool. There has not been a single clear bonafied message from the lips of Liverpool Football Club regarding this matter and can we really trust what the media are putting out, all his interviews are done in a second language how can we be so sure?

Until we know whats really going on I think as fans we should wait till LFC comes out with the REAL news, instead of blowing baskets about how Suarez has "betrayed" Liverpool. What if he stays? Are we going to act like Suarez burn't the bridge with us, when in hindsight it was us fans who over reacted. I AM NOT defending Suarez, I am just saying we can only speculate what the future has in store and I hope that future has Suarez in it.

    ReplyDelete
  112. When Suarez isn't in the team, everyone raises there game so they can replace him. Knowing that they don't have Suarez to provide killer passes and score goals with mazy runs and intelligent anticipation, the other players pick up their game and tempo. The guy that fills in Suarez's shoes has that more urgency to perform now because he knows that fans will be putting the blame on him. Liverpool winnning with Suarez is more to do with Rodger's style more than individual players. Suarez is still Liverpool's best player and he can cause any defense havoc.

    ReplyDelete
  113. I'm not saying it will happen.

    I just think it's a significant risk.

Is Luis Suarez's value going to increase from here on out? He's only going to get older, only going to get more miles on his body with the season combined with the World Cup Qualifying as well as the World Cup itself.

I think his value will only go down from here or at best stay equal. He could have another 30 goal season... will we get MORE than 50m for him next year when we may not get 50m even this year?

    I have serious doubts.

Plus, even if we have a great year and make the Champions League, will he still want to stay?

Nothing is guaranteed at this point. I'd rather take the safe way out and sell now and just be done with it all... otherwise, the club is going to have to deal with this saga at least until January and most likely next summer if we don't get a good offer in January.

  114. http://www.101greatgoals.com/blog/luis-suarez-i-have-a-contract-with-liverpool-my-daughter-sings-youll-never-walk-alone-el-pais/?

I hope people can understand my views when they read El Pais interview with Suarez. Maybe this can clear up what he has said.

    ReplyDelete
  115. You're absolutely right :)
suarez is here, he has a contract and he stays as long as we want to, until somebody meets our asking price our club shouldnt even consider, shouldn't even write back!
I'm absolutely sure they are flirting with him all the time, that's the reason suarez is giving those interviews etc, but do you think its easy to prove that?
Would corrupt football associations ban them for an enire transfer window ?
    Can't imagine to be honest..

    ReplyDelete
  116. According to reports Liverpool are waiting for Suarez to put in a transfer request before they sell him.
While he is making public statements rather than contacting liverpool.
The reason for this is that under his current contract he has a 1m Loyalty bonus, so if liverpool sell him without a transfer request he pockets 1m of the transfer fee, where as if he does request to leave then he voids it and LFC get it.
So if that is all true then its just gonna be a waiting game until one of them cracks.

    ReplyDelete
  117. JK, ive recently seen reports of a Loyalty bonus is LS contract.
Have you seen anything about it?
If it is true it would explain why LS is making public statements to try and leave rather than requesting a transfer.

  118. Dream signing. Him or Negredo.

    ReplyDelete
  119. He should not stay.

now some1 speaking the truth ! isnt too hard to unds why he orchestra so called "bite incident"....

    ReplyDelete
  121. personally think bale won't get as many as chances to score goals next season if he stays and opposition knows the strength of bale so he will probably find difficult to score and win the matches for spurs again but the worse thing that could happen to us is that real madrid or psg pays 80-85m for him and spurs buys our target..which would be certainly annoying .in fact it could effect us more than bale staying

    ReplyDelete
  122. i dunno ....they put zidane in charge of that transfer .....he could make it happen

    ReplyDelete
  123. In that case we finished 7th and 8th with Gerrard, Agger and everyone else. We should sell everyone to finish higher.

    ReplyDelete
  124. negredo wants championship football.......most realistic target would be shane long .........

    ReplyDelete
  125. its rumored that there gonna spend much more on bale so i dont think its stupid to ask for over 50 mill as he is better than torres and in the same league (in my mind much better than bale)

    ReplyDelete
  126. why go for morata ? yeah he has potential but i would be really hard on madrid and ask for ozil, ronaldo, coentrao, the list goes on they have quality players to be swapped ???

    ReplyDelete
  127. lol@ champions league football. Its an excuse. Look at Falcao. Money and first team football is all what most footballers demand. Negredo will jump at the chance of Liverpool. West ham bid was rejected, you see even West Ham thinks they had a chance. And Shane Long is OK, Lukaku outclassed him at the end of the season.

    ReplyDelete
  128. yes he did ......but i mentioned him cuz he is a proven striker and would come cheap too

    ReplyDelete
  129. plan B at best, I would rather go for Remy

    ReplyDelete
  130. ronaldo plus cash would be ok, yeah sure

    ReplyDelete
  131. do you really think he is going to be bothered about a just over a months wages lol

    ReplyDelete
  132. every top player as speculation about where and where not he will play next year, because every top club wants these kind of players eg ronaldo at real

    ReplyDelete
  133. yes cause he orchestrated it

    ReplyDelete
  134. except us(keeping it sly) we have to make public apologys

    ReplyDelete
  135. its the british media m8 the hype them to death

    ReplyDelete
  136. only for 8m and lower

    ReplyDelete
  137. m8 i can garuntee you if we had not had suarez last season we would have not finished in the top ten

    ReplyDelete
  138. maybe suarez is doing it to motivate fsg into getting better players in so that he can play in the cl

    ReplyDelete
  139. has a release clause of 6mn

    ReplyDelete
  140. i know i wouldnt want to give up a months wages if i thought i didnt have too.
But hey i guess we'll just have to wait n see

    ReplyDelete
  141. 50 + hinguin would be good enough for me

    ReplyDelete
  142. so i am a gullible enabler lol why would that be because i do not agree with you on this issue, and please can you stop insulting suarez i have been banned for less

    ReplyDelete
  143. dunno what we are waiting for then

    ReplyDelete
  144. i did get the home alone refernce:-)right then lets do away with transfer fees because every player sees out is contract and can move for free, hold on we will be paying players like carroll there full wages for the rest of there contract as we have broken the contract

    ReplyDelete
  145. If we can Mkhitaryan and Soldado then nobody will mind Suarez going for 40M

    ReplyDelete
  146. well said chris see we do actually agree on some things;-)

    ReplyDelete
  147. i read it m8 different story to whats getting shown around most of the media:-)

    ReplyDelete
  148. depends how much you need it,and do not forget he will get a big pay rise as well

    ReplyDelete
  149. well I will, but yes he must go

    ReplyDelete
  150. From what i have seen, Mkhi alias MK-14 :P, makes very good runs throughout the match and this is why he is quite often in good scoring positions... I feel like he is an improvement on Hendo who also has a good engine...

    ReplyDelete
  151. Apparently this Suarez saga will draw on till the closure of transfer window... A darn shame... With Suarez and our potential acquisitions (Aspas, Mkhi), we would have great firepower...

Suarez has a great footballing brain... But as a person, i think he is a moron... I couldn't agree more with the 'whoring' part... This is shameless...

    ReplyDelete
  152. we all better get our feet o the ground ....if this deal doesnt happen we all gonna be so dissapointed XD

    ReplyDelete
  153. why do we want a player plus cash for suarez? id rather take the 50 million hes worth and buy a world class replacement and then continue building our squad for a CL spot charge by buying a defender a new winger and maybe a defensive midfielder to help lucas.

    ReplyDelete
  154. lol it had to happen at some point ;)

    ReplyDelete
  155. back to normal now then lol;-)

    ReplyDelete
  156. Depends on priorities. We have Sturridge to play up top and the other positions are worse off, so rather improve them first. Very good striker of course.

    ReplyDelete
  157. That may well be a fact but I'd like to see what games they were that we won without Suarez in the team.

Was it a lot of Carling Cup/FA Cup early round games? Was it against strong teams that we were competing against in the league? Was it a mix of both?

That fact could be and is misleading:

    During Evra/Fulham finger ban -

We beat Newcastle in the league, Oldham in FA Cup, Man City in Carling Cup. We had 4 draws and 2 losses.

    Ivanovic bite ban:
3 wins and 1 draw against Everton
To say "overall we win more games without him" is wrong because overall we have won more games with him! Why... because we have played more games with him than without him.
You could say our WIN PERCENTAGE is better without Suarez but that is misleading too because:
    a) We've played a small number of games without Suarez and a large number of games with him so any percentages are going to be skeewed and not really objectively comparable until we have played as many (or very near it) games without Suarez as we have with him.
    b) 3 of the games that were wins without Suarez were at the end of the season just gone when we were in very good form and Coutinho and Sturridge had had time to gel and play well together. Newcastle defended like schoolboys, Fulham weren't much better and neither us or QPR had anything to play for, arguably we would have won these with or without Suarez. The Everton game however (0 - 0 draw) could well have been different with Suarez in the team.
    FACT

    ReplyDelete
  158. Probably was a one off, for Malta at least :-)

Don't know really. I don't rate Eriksen as highly as he seems to rate himself. Seems as if no club is after him right now. He doesn't seem to be top of the wish-list of any club.

In case we get Mkhitaryan, I hope he's as good as everybody claims. If we don't get him, I hope he isn't that good.

    ReplyDelete
  159. It's probably not easy to proof that for us as a football club, but I am convinced that some secret agency have got transcripts of phone-calls.

Didn't Chelsea get a transfer ban?

    ReplyDelete
  160. eriksen and bendtner one must admire their self confidence if only assaidi would be as confident we could have a wonderful player lol

    ReplyDelete
  161. Exactly. And if they don't have enough money to buy both, they can't buy both.

    ReplyDelete
  162. They've put ZIdane in charge of tapping Bale up. UEFA has to do something about Real Madrid.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Footballing wise he should, but I could do without the rest for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  164. Someone on here claimed that he'd be entitled to 10% of any transfer fee. They way he behaves, he isn't even entitled his regular wages, imho.

    ReplyDelete
  165. I'm actually very interested in how the majority of our supporters would react. He has lost all love with me and I wonder, if somebody would be still willing to sing his name.

    ReplyDelete
  166. They are not allowed to talk to Bale unless Spurs allow them to do so.

    ReplyDelete
  167. That actually is a problem. Whenever one goes to work abroad, it is imperative to mix with the locals to learn the bloody language. Why should our prima donna footballers be any different. His girlfriend even studied. I guess she must be a lot brighter than him. She surely speaks English. And it's not the most difficult language in the world either.

    Don't think Suaréz is Ronaldo's type. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  168. Well, we don't know how Rodgers reacts to all this. I for one think he is well advised not to fall as low as Suaréz and make everything public. This should be dealt with internally, even if Suaréz is a pr1ck.

    ReplyDelete
  169. He still praises our club and supporters all of the time. I have no doubt whatsoever that he wouldn't perform any worse than last season. Don't expect him to control his idiotic behaviour any better either, though.

    ReplyDelete
  170. Oh, Bendtner, now he's a fine example of a guy with an over-inflated ego.

    ReplyDelete
  171. Disgusted with Suarez... He was not a fringe player here... He was adored by the whole kop... Each and every match, we sang his name... But now, he can't seem to shut his mouth...

    ReplyDelete
  172. let zidane be do soething about their money ....after they get suarez ;)

    ReplyDelete
  173. I don't think they can afford both Bale and Suaréz in one transfer window. Zidane won't be able to do much about that, well, unless he prints some notes himself.

    ReplyDelete
  174. I am looking forward to silence whenever he's on the ball should he stay with us, then.

    ReplyDelete
  175. It's going to be strange though... If he stays, am sure most fans will support him... But with less zeal...

    ReplyDelete
  176. well i didnt know she studied :>
Oh i think those two would find themselfes, and would be more than friends ;)

    ReplyDelete
  177. lol id pay for the first class plane tickets and limo fare :P

    ReplyDelete
  178. i only wonder if he will become an even bigger villain than torress

    ReplyDelete
  179. zidane needs no ones permission :P others need permission to speak with him ;)

    ReplyDelete
  180. been saying for a long time now lol

    ReplyDelete
  181. It got mentioned a few times that she studied there. I obviously spend too much team reading stuff about Liverpool. :-)

Ronaldo won't ever be friends with anybody, because he is so much in love with himself. There's only him and those who admire him.

    ReplyDelete
  182. you cant actually grantee that at all Jas lol. You could guess that? is that what you meant?

    ReplyDelete
  183. so does murdering of kids, don`t make it right though does it. The excuse it happens is a poor way out.

    ReplyDelete
  184. Overall is worked on a % not amount of games lol.

You can`t discount games just cause you don`t like them. How about I discount a few from Suarez too?

To argue we had easier games is also such a cope out. We didn`t beat any of the top teams with or without him, therefore all the rest of the games last season were against poorer teams, with and without Suarez, thus making it pretty far. I was working on league games only btw.

So I repeat, overall we won more games without Suarez. Once you get over your blind love for him you will see that too. Oddly as I`m not blinded I can admit we won more without him, yet still want him in the team, as im not just going to blindly deny facts just so I feel better.

    FACT

    ReplyDelete
  185. ok i could guess it but its true imo

    ReplyDelete
  186. its not a way out its a fact of life it happens ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  187. Now, that's a difficult one, really. I'd go for a draw.

    ReplyDelete
  188. He's an employee of the club. I don't know his exact job description, but wasn't he in charge of recruitment?

    ReplyDelete
  189. and you may well be guessing right. My arguement wasn`t and isn`t that we aren`t better with him, just that on paper stats say different. Stats only tell one part of a story though.

    ReplyDelete
  190. i think he wont now .....he managed to make half of pool get fed up with his antics :P (ps u know ur in trouble when jamie is against you :P )

    ReplyDelete
  191. he is some kind of ambassador

    ReplyDelete
  192. Jaimie probably is against everyone at some time :-)

    ReplyDelete
  193. Makes you think again about the treatment we gave Torres. He gave no interviews before he left and put in a transfer request without trying to earn a cut of the transfer fee or drag his price down. An offer was made, Liverpool rejected. A greater offer was made and a transfer request put in. He left and we got handsomely rewarded. No fuss. Suarez on the other hand is constantly speaking out and trying to force the club to sell him via the media and without an offer. Like he is commanding us as his agents. No class or respect whatsoever especially given what the club has given him.

    ReplyDelete
  194. That would be a good signing for me - we definitely need at least one more striker in, even if Suarez remains at the club. I like Sturridge, but he's not going to give us +32 games and at present that would mean plenty of starting appearances for Downing/Borini. As far as I'm concerned, if we really are aiming to make a big jump up the table next year, we need to be going in with far better attacking options than that

    ReplyDelete
  195. Finally somebody joining in with my argument!

All this rubbish about CL as if that's a players first priority - CL is just a means to an end, which is the money.

    ReplyDelete
