Serie A raid? - Liverpool FC scouts monitoring coveted Parma striker. Bid...?

With the future of Luis Suarez very much up in the air at the moment, and Daniel Sturridge;s fitness an ongoing concern, Liverpool are very much in the market for another striker this summer, and reports in Italy this week claim that Reds scouts are monitoring Parma striker Nicolas Sansone.

According to TMW:

* Both Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in German-born Sansone.

* Both clubs have scouted the striker 'on more than one occasion'

Parma manager Roberto Donadoni seems determined to hold onto the 21-year old striker, and Wednesday, he told ITASportsPress:

"He will stay in Parma. There have been no transfer request so far. Nothing from Milan, or Roma"

Since breaking into the Parma first-team last season, Sansone has grabbed 6 goals and 2 assists in 26 apps (17 starts), which equates to a goal/assist every 2.1 games.

In a recent interview, Sansone praised Donadoni for helping with his development. He told reporters:

"He [Donadoni] helps me so much and is always gives me lots of great advice".

With Iago Aspas allegedly on the verge of signing for Liverpool, I don't see how Sansone is needed. However, if the Reds to sign another striker, it will hopefully be someone with a little more experience, and a more prolific goal record.

  4. Jason if suarez was real player how much would they ask for not 40-50 mil they would ask for 70 mil.
Then we go and buy Lukaku and benteke or Damiao then world class midfielder to replace Gerrard when he goes.
I for once am happy with the club suarez is not for sale simple he has 4 years left if you want him pay and pay big. Jose got hammered buy the Spanish media does Suarez think he will have it easy there Go suarez. But with the money buy world class players

  5. completely agree with the idea in principle, however I cant see why Higuain would ever join us.

  6. Nope from me. I think we need another striker, as Aspa is def not a replacement for Suarez if Suarez goes. Aspa is a goood player but def not Suarez standard, I see him more as a back up player. Therefore if we sign another striker, which I think we will need to, it has to be someone who is top class. This will be hard, as we are doing rubbish right now, so it would be a step down for any top striker unless we get lucky and find one who the other big clubs dont want.

We are paying the price for to many years of settling for poor managers, poor players and in turn poor league placings. Yep we play fancy football right now, but the only thing that counts is league position.

This is guy is doubt a ok player, but we need ready made great players if we want to make a difference and try to get in top four, otherwise I think it will be another season of also rans ending in 6th, then cue more good players leaving.

  13. Cause Victor Valdes has said he is staying at Barca.

  14. Hmm, well we signed Toure. Morientes and Villa, two very different footballers. Villa has been injured and has still performed when called upon. Seriously think he'd be a good signing provided we get another young gun too.

  15. I think we can gear up for the busiest summer in many years.Whenever I try to predict how a transfer window will pan out LIVERPOOL always throw in a transfer that was never on anyones radar.
IAGO ASPAS whoever had that signing on their shopping list should go out get a lottery ticket.I think we're in for a bumpy ride and I'm sure there'll be a couple more players that come in who nobody's heard of or just never mentioned.

  16. I don't rate Villa either. For the money they're asking I think we can go better. Even spend a bit more and get someone much younger who would be just as good. Villa certainly had his moments, a couple of amazing season, but he's past his best for sure and never played English football, why are we so convinced he will adapt? A player on the decline who admittedly would still be good trying to fit into a new league that operates at a pace he's not used to ... I don't know why we'd really want him.

  17. After 'big Andy' I can see why they wouldn't even though I still dont agree with it if you're right that is

  18. Lets get Jovetic then.

  19. i do not think they will sanction such a big transfer again

    ReplyDelete
  20. no doubt he is a good player. I like the fact we signed him. He has a real edge to his play. I just dont think he is world class, which is what we need.

  21. jovetic is also injury prone

    ReplyDelete
  22. He's the only big striker who isn't in a champions league side. Plus we have proved that our medical team are handling injury-prone players well; look at Agger and Stevie G. We can swoop for van Wolfsvinkel, but he's going to Norwich.

  23. As a replacement for Suarez not for as a squad/fringe player quality wise yes but would not be willing to pay much for him. Again he would be one for the future, we need players for RIGHT NOW!! Regarding the Suarez situation however i am really pleased with the way that the club has come out and declared that he will be sold for only excess of £50 million. If we were to sell him for £40 million that would be a massive under valuation IMO.

  24. Why don't we just pick up that guy he would be a bargain buy
