  1. Only one request for the Rodgers job assessment:

We need to have "Outstanding: Whatever That Means" as an option!

  2. glad to see some positivw fans here, voting the season as very good. Next year is hopefully our season!

  3. Oops! Usually in life my opinion tends to differ from that of the majority (or those who make most noise), but in this case, my vote was the same as that of the majority (or most votes) in 9 out of 11 cases. I'm getting old.

  4. Next season is always our season :-)

  5. It's mental that Ferguson wasn't up for manager of the season.
I've never seen a side so shite, win the title with such ease.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I got 4/11 as every one else.

    ReplyDelete
  7. That's a clear sign that you can, unlike me, think for yourself, make up your own mind, and don't follow the herd. Kudos!

    ReplyDelete
  8. Most think they have been shite for majority of the past two decades. Not bad for such a shite team, the past two decades

    ReplyDelete
  9. Yeah we'll see how that 'shite' team does now with Whiskey nose gone

    ReplyDelete
  10. Looks like we are being strongly linked with Mkhitaryan and that money is there irrespective of what happens with Suarez. Good signing if it comes off?
Would it silence those doom-mongers who constantly call FSG cheapskates (you know who you are)

    ReplyDelete
  11. hahah yeah :) but IMO we showed a lot of progress this season - ofc some misstakes have been made, but at all im quite optimistic about the future, under KD i wasnt

  12. Just trying to think what Jason put for the last two questions, I can take a guess though :P Rafa should not be winning the best rival manager award though.

    ReplyDelete
  13. The thing is Liverpool = History, United = Ferguson, I honestly see them as taking a huge fall from grace, and god that's going to be fun

    ReplyDelete
  14. This would be a MAJOR signing, He is a serious player!!
I understand where people get this impression that the owners won't spend big money on players??

    Suarez?
    Carroll?
    Downing?
    Henderson?
    Allen?
All of the above bar Allen were purchased at 20M or above. What more do you want?

I want the money spent on better players. Thats the only problem I have and that ain't the owners fault.

  15. How good is this chap Henrikh Mkhitaryan, don't know a great deal about him but looks like he's in. I have to say I think the mistakes FSG have made in the past will be the best thing to happen to LFC. Over priced British lads are now becoming top class bargains from all over Europe. Even breaking there ages barrier now. FSG are showing they are not too proud to admit mistakes and improve. Top three next year, Guaranteed.

I was thinking the same! Haha

Class player, and 25 goals from attacking midfield! Brilliant but one person still won't be happy;-) he be banging his drum about FSG haha

  18. everybody did that ;)

  19. Very true man, great post. And I think hendo might justify his tag. Imaging benteke, papa, mkhit, aspas, toure, all very possible signings. Tell you what, that's a possible title winning team.

    ReplyDelete
  20. You don't know him yet you can guarantee that Liverpool will get into the top 3 after signing him?? C'mon man!!

    ReplyDelete
  21. LOL. I don't think anybody can complain with us being linked with him I just hope someone else doesn't come in for him.....(Spurs)!!

He really is a phenominal player and will make a big impact on our starting 11. He will knock Hendo or Downing out of the team.

SO far it looks like we have signed Toure, Aspa.
We are HEAVILY linked with Luis Alberto and know Mkhitaryan. This could be a great window for us.

  22. Awesome, my nomination for Shelveys goal against utd in the under 21`s game made it in :-) Yes im slighty sad but that did make me smile

    ReplyDelete
  23. one edit. On Rodgers first season the top level should have been "outstanding" not fantastic, purely for comedy effect

    ReplyDelete
  24. Well he aint signed yet, and i dont think we have yet made a bid, just paper talk i think still. He is a awesome player though and will really improve us. One thing though, he aint or wont be a bargin. They want 22mil. I would guess we would pay 18mil and upwards if we did get him.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Haha Ill drink to that ;)

    ReplyDelete
  26. just need Papa to that list and im one happy man, esp if we keep Suarez, but even if we didnt i would still be happy.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Yikes, i voted the same as majority of people in all but the last one

    BR Must do better!!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. never a truer word spoken. Fergie should be the one. There team is a shadow of what it used to be. They only have a few players i could see getting into other top teams, yet they won the league by miles. That is top class managing right there. Winning the league with a team which on paper is about 4th/5th best.

    ReplyDelete
  29. time to cut down on all them ants you been eating

    ReplyDelete
  30. or have really poor judgement. I have rubbish judgement as was also a 4/11 man

    ReplyDelete
  31. So as a guess im thinking you didnt pick Rafa, but maybe Steve clarke? and im struggling to work out the other one lol.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Not a huge fan of Papa, especially for the money that has been mentioned, saying that, parts of his game are exceptional for his age. I don't see it happening TBH.

    Toby for me.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Zouma for me.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Jaimie you shouldn't have included Coutinho in young exciting prospect. IMO he is already established in first team and if you include him with the likes of Suso, Sterling and Ibe I feel its highly unfair. Excluding Countinho, I think Ibe and Suso are most exciting prospect.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Yes,  you're probably right. I'll amend that poll later.

  36. If we don't believe it, who will? :-)

    ReplyDelete
  37. Or maybe he just doesn't know what he's talking about :-)

    ReplyDelete
  38. Sturridge for best transfer in stead of Phil, Spurs game in stead of NUFC, Raheem for prospect, Benteke for rival player. And I don't know what happened to my Stewie Downing for player of the season vote but I'm pretty sure JK rigged it to make sure Suarez wins it. Enabler.... :-)

    ReplyDelete
  39. There is actually a great deal of truth to what you're saying. It seems like they've lost a lot of quality since 1999 but they've never stopped winning. The man deserves to be up there with Shanks, Paisley, Fagan and Busby.

  40. I will go to the website the very day he signs and order even that new, ugly, black and white number that is going to be our reserves jersey and get his name on the back, that's how delighted I will be if this comes off. And also it'll be fun annoying the people who print the names having to stick that on all the time. Mkytha...Myktha...Kmthy...Dammit! I just can't wait to hear Carra doing a post match analysis on manyoo sports having to say his name four or five times!

    ReplyDelete
  41. There is "outstanding, whatever that means" and right above that there is Mkitharyan.

    ReplyDelete
  42. It was a very special goal too

    ReplyDelete
  43. Possible, but as positive thinking people we would first of all assume that a total stranger on the internet is not someone who doesn't know what he's talking about. Benefit of doubt and so on...

    ReplyDelete
  44. Very good, yes, indeed, I think Steve Clarke did exceptionally well. And, while I enjoyed the Newcastle win very much, I found the Zenit game most thrilling of all.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I think their "ages barrier" is something that is made up by sections of the fans.

    ReplyDelete
  46. And for me. Hope he decides that playing for Anzhi, flying in even for home games, isn't that great a prospect after all.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Lets keep our feet on the ground a bit longer, shall we. Title winning team. We may talk about that should we be top of the table next March. Don't push up those expectations.

    ReplyDelete
  48. jaimie no henderson for young player of the year?why

    ReplyDelete
  49. 'Tell you what, that's a possible title winning team.'

    Pfft.

    ReplyDelete
  50. True that. Sadly for him, it's no longer the shepherds that will inherit the earth, but the sheep.

    ReplyDelete
  51. You get my vote for "comment of the day" for that, the shepherds and sheep. I will memorise that one.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Yeah but after giving us that money we pissed it up the wall and they said, "shit should we be giving them loads more money?" "lets see how the new manager does with a little less then if he proves himself open up the coffers again....." How Jason sees this,... AGHHHHG FSG are killing us they are sucking us dry blahhhh blah wont spend any money wahhhh, wahhhh FSG out

    ReplyDelete
  53. I went for Sturridge as best transfer too, even though coutinho is prob a better player in terms of skill, to me we needed sturridge more, and i think he made the difference for the rest of the season. Coutinho of course has done a lot and made a big difference too, so not taking anything away from him. Just for me Sturridge was the better signing as we needed it more at that time.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I've got to say I'm surprised so many are so happy with BR's season.
I do value him as a good manager, but he started the season poorly both on the transfer front and on the team selection front.
He also made a massive mistake in the Zenit game with his subtitutions.
I know it has been a learning curve and that he has what it takes, but I can't rate a season that we finish 7th without any trophy as a "very good" season for any manager.
I do believe we are on our way though, and optimism is definetly in place.

    ReplyDelete
  55. tbf, £22m would be a bargain (relatively) if he's as good as his stats suggest...

It only takes one decent season in the Premiership to get a £20m price tag, so it's pretty reasonable to expect a proven matchwinner for a regular CL team elsewhere to command a similar sum, right?

    ReplyDelete
  56. I think they'll be ok for a year or two tbh, while Ferguson remains around and the players maintain the same mentality instilled by Ferguson over the years.

Hopefully Moyes can do a Hodgson style hatchet job and destroy the mentality and expectations of the club within a few short months though!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Yep. We do it to. drumming down expectations is what they call it now. To me its giving in before you e ven started.

    ReplyDelete
  58. That's not being fans positive, that's just fans setting low standards.

Wasting an entire transfer window and improving our league standing from 8th to 7th can't qualify as a "very good" season for me...

    ReplyDelete
  59. Yea, our fans have definitely bought into the nonsense in recent years which is pretty disappointing.

I'd rather be an idiot dreaming that 'next year can be our year', than an idiot demanding everybody give up their dreams

    ReplyDelete
  60. I don't know what the heck Downing, or even Agger, are doing as options there!

    ReplyDelete
  61. I was with the crowd for 6 of the available options.

I think Rodgers' performance was just about satisfactory this year, with all things considered, but next year he definitely doesn't deserve such leeway and must do A LOT better!

    ReplyDelete
  62. were in heaven ? no there only one place th"t cunt is goin downstairs to join Maggie!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  63. just noticed that i only had to look for suarezs name then moved on but agree i would have hendo in for the player of the year ahead of both of them imo

    ReplyDelete
  64. agree i voted must do better

    ReplyDelete
  65. Ah but you have to factor in us almost going into administration too,I mean a lot of people see to forget that, but yeah I can see them starting to drop...But who knows eh? Perhaps Moyles will become very successful with them you never know
