Transfer Boost: LFC to sign £5m Barca star with 28 goals/assists this season

Liverpool are on the verge of sealing a deal for Barcelona B attacker Luis Alberto.

The 20-year old attacking midfielder - who can also play up front - is currently on loan at Barca from Sevilla, and according to Spanish newspaper Sport today:

* LFC are close to agreeing a deal.

* Barcelona have a £5m option to buy but have decided not to take it up.

* Alberto has 11 goals and 17 assists in 37 games this season.

Discussing Alberto's future in April, Sevilla chief Ramon Rodriguez told reporters:

"It seems unlikely that Barcelona will pay. Not only the €4 million asn it is a rather high amount. The ball is in the court of Barcelona, but in my mind, Alberto will return and this year will serve to develop him for the first team."

When quizzed by reporters recently about his future plans, Alberto told Estadio Deportivo:

"I would be really happy to move back to Sevilla, it's my home and I owe everything to that club. If, on the contrary, I would remain at Barça, I would be in the best club of the world"

    Looks a good player...

  2. Woah, quick deal. I hope we do really can see them perform not like another Assaidi. There is a feeling that Suarez is going to leave but as long the price is good. I won't be that much sadden.

  3. For me all these signings means Downing is leaving for sure. Aspas is left footed and I'm pretty sure he's his replacement. Borini might be out too, maybe on loan.

The agent of Suarez had down played his comments, hopefully he stays with us

  5. Does anyone know what position this guy plays ?

    ReplyDelete
  6. all these signings mean top earners experienced pros will be leaving, but we will have potential ,with all this potential we have signed how comes the youth team is not winning everything ,the next gen tournement as shown we are not all were cracked up to be,i really do see suarez leaving three players signed and not one that top class players would think thats going to help push us on to the next level,we lost torres because they would not match his ambitions we will lose suarez for the same reason

How did you work that out?"top earners experienced pos will be leaving"?

  8. worry about liverpool FSG are only selling top players and buying very young not good enough players looks suarez skrtel and reina are leaving after there comments

  9. does anybody know this guy? according to some lfc fans hes a bit like iniesta ,yet barca knocked him back at 5million,and if he was any good barca would have took up the option to buy him ,at that price

    ReplyDelete
  10. we will see hes blown half of his supposed money we need acentral defender that will take the rest of the money because pray be to god this is not going to be all our signings

Isn't my words it's from Guillem Balague, he knows the type of player he is, and he rated very highly, don't write a player off before he even played.

hahaha look like BR really learned lesson from dempsey. Now we do thing quick that good. I dont think he will be 1st choice to replace current starter. Be prepared he will be another assaidi case (future investment).

how bout ibe, steering, suso, pacheco, assaidi ???

    ReplyDelete
  13. liverpool4life5659:48 am, May 30, 2013

As you put "supposed" we are getting our signings done quickly

    ReplyDelete
  14. I think the key word there is 'supposed money'. None of us know how much we have to spend this summer.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Class player....1st team player....nah...not yet.

    ReplyDelete
  16. quite unfair, there are many good players barca never rated ... Jordi alba was at la masia, but they lost him to Vallencia because they didnt rate him. a few years later they bought him for around 16m!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Who cares if Suarez leaves? As I've argued in the past, it won't make any significant negative difference. LFC have finished 8th and 7th with Suarez in the team, so it's not like he pushed the club forward. The only way is up, and without Suarez, Liverpool will still finish higher than 7th next season.

    ReplyDelete
  18. This is an illogical argument. 'Supposed' money? No one knows how much money LFC actually have to spend.

    ReplyDelete
  19. assaidi and pacheco wont ever do it here. Suso will get on loan i think, same for ibe probably. while sterling will be used next season...

    ReplyDelete
  20. cant see him staying, im not even frustrated if he leaves, im just hoping we will get good money from real!!!

    ReplyDelete
  21. well Arsenal lost RVP and they still managed to get a CL place, i dont really rate their team more than ours, if we get some good players in this summer. With suarez leaving we would get a decent load of money which we could spend for many class players!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. True, what about Fabregas too.Started there and they had to buy him back for £30M+

    ReplyDelete
  23. Sorry I loved torres like all off us now i love suarez im sick of players not being loyal to people who love him and sing songs in the stands about him . They say Bale is worth 60mil then suarez is more if he wants to go go then more then 60mil easy . he can come out and say im not going nowhere he is not but in his native country talking how he would find it hard not to resist real . Now with this posting with this player from barca looks again smart like couthino business . im changing my thought about FSG slowly.

    ReplyDelete
  24. yep, totally forgot him... see jason ? barca arent always right ;) he looks like a class player, and 28 goals/assist speak for themselfes .. !!

    ReplyDelete
  25. And with Suarez, they'll finish higher than without him

    ReplyDelete
  26. obviously you dont care but i do why not run a poll jaimie

    ReplyDelete
  27. fair enough but i would bet its 20 to 30 million max and although these may be good players for the future toure apart its not what we need ,i want players for next season not in two or three years time if they reach there potential, and we definitly do not have money and squad space for both

    ReplyDelete
  28. but they have learnt there lesson hence they sign players and loan them out now

    ReplyDelete
  29. Fabregas was stolen because in spain you can't offer professional contracts to kids the age fab was

    ReplyDelete
  30. How do you know these players won't make an immediate impact. Coutinho came in and made a splash, and he's a first team regular now at the age of 20. Same could happen with Alberto and Aspas.

    ReplyDelete
  31. and we sign players like this for them mostly to suffer the same fate pacheco and suso were supposed to be world beaters ,but its not happening

    ReplyDelete
  32. I not excited about this one, but who am I to judge, balague knows his stuff and supposedly so do our scouts, ill judge him in a lfc shirt which everyone should do.

    ReplyDelete
  33. i dont jaimie its speculation on my part based on previous players the majority do not ,iam not saying its fact like you say we will finish higher in the league without suarez its speculation on your part ,which you may or may not be able to prove fact next season depending on wether suarez stays or not

    ReplyDelete
  34. in the youth or reseve team (goals and assists )

    ReplyDelete
  35. Let the kid move back to Seville and get a couple of full seasons in the first team under his belt. There'll be plenty of time for him to move abroad and away from his family.

    ReplyDelete
  36. You can hardly compare Suarez's situation to that of Torres. Suarez would move because he's being treated unfairly in England and his family are unhappy. Torres moved to a rival club just to get more money and a title.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Suarez is not being treated unfairly! He gets exactly what he deserves from the press because he's a cheat/diver/biter who uses racially insensitive language on the field! The idea that he is treated unfairly is pure fantasy, perpetuated by one-eye apologists. Suarez brings the negative press on himself, and if players do the stuff he does, negative press is exactly what you get. And it's deserved.

    ReplyDelete
  38. BREAKING NEWS!!!

    See Sky Sports??

Suarez's agent tells Sky Sports that Suarez is is happy at Liverpool and is not going anywhere.

    Denial eh??

Put that in your pipe and smoke it!!!

Also fair play to the relevant article :)

    ReplyDelete
  39. Of course, because it happens all the time that the Prime Minister of England comments on the behaviour of football players...

    ReplyDelete
  40. look you pick a little line in the comment but not the meaning of the total comment. to make it easy which ever player in any club not even liverpool they dont like it leave the club and fans of suarez support him through the discusting times his action not just the media ,if he wants to leave let him . If he was at real madrid would real sell him for 40mil NO are they willing to pay 60mil for bale yes, suarez can go more then bale . The gerrards carra of the world dont exist in the modern day footballer. (torres) so FSG or rodgers sell him for more then 60 mil we should support them . but buy Lukaku benteke isco of the world.

    ReplyDelete
  41. How often to players bite each other? There have only been two major incidents in the last three years and both involve Suarez. It's an exceptional incident, and it provoked an exceptional response.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I can't figure out if you are really this naive, or just so lost in denial you can't see the wood for the trees :-)

His Agent's comment mean nothing. Wake up! it's damage control once again, and it's Agent practice 101 to issue such a statement.

You want to believe it's true because you are a fan of Suarez. You're not being objective and looking at everything in context. Irrespective of Suarez's Agent, he still made those comments about Madrid, and he's made countless similar comments in the past.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Mr. Point Of View10:30 am, May 30, 2013

day by day we look more alike a mid table team...by look at our rival all linked with something BIG.

    buy cheap sell hi

    become a feeder club

    ReplyDelete
  44. How on earth do LFC look like a 'mid-table team'? Big signings do not guarantee success - just look at Man City. The club needs the *right* signings, irrespective of cost. Sturridge and Coutinho were the right signings; Allen, Assaidi et al were not. Rodgers has made mistakes, but recent history suggests he's getting it right in the transfer market.

    ReplyDelete
  45. No mate, he is a fan of LIV-ER-POOL, not Suarez, unlike yourself. Why on earth would he want to do damage control if he wants to leave the club? If Suarez wants a move this summer, clubs and their supporters will be falling all over each other to see him signed because he is one of the five best football players in the world. And some people do know how to appreciate that. If he leaves he leaves but to say this is damage control is ignorant at best, because it doesn't suit your personal agenda.

    ReplyDelete
  46. No, he is quite clearly a fan of Suarez, not LFC, just like all the Suarez apologists, such as yourself, who put the individual ahead of the club.

If you really can't grasp the concept of damage control in this situation, then I can't help you. Suarez has basically stated that he wants to leave LFC because of the press etc. After all the support LFC have provided him, this looks ungrateful and selfish, so his Agent is obviously going to take steps to change that perception. This is ridiculously obvious, and standard practice.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Ah Prime Ministers getting involved is something that should only have started in the last three years...now I get it. So Tony Blair should not have had an opinion on Defoe biting Mascherano then? Or maybe it's ok for English players to bite other players? And of course Terry being racist is also not a major incident. I mean, he was only the England captain after all and behaved in a way that did not only affect the player he said it to but the entire England team.

    ReplyDelete
  48. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-tbBuTjT40
Check this one out from a few years back. Never see it before. Mate sent it to me the other day. Ollie Khan doing a vampire impression. He was always a bit nuts though.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Totally agree, if players want to leave they should leave. As long as we get the money we want for him. I don't disagree with you on that. Just the fact that you compared Torres and Suarez I do not agree with. Torres is like Owen. Self centered, no loyalty what so ever. Suarez is like Fowler. Loves the club, doesn't want to leave, but sees himself with no other option. DIfference is, with Fowler Houllier was the culprit, with Suarez it's xenophobe institutions like the British government and the FA. Both ran by torrie dinosaurs who still smoke sigars and talk about the good old days when Brittania ruled the world, pretended to be civilized and looked down on "lesser folk" whose culture they just could not comprehend. So in over a century, nothing has changed.

    ReplyDelete
  50. sometimes it's like you're negative for the sake of it. Maybe Barca simply don't need some of their up and coming talent?

    ReplyDelete
  51. With the greatest respect, there's no point discussing the terry incident with you because you clearly are not interested in the finer details of the FA's case, and the *legitimate* reasons why Suarez got a bigger ban.

As for the Prime Minister - Suarez has a long history of serious negative behaviour, plus, he already got banned for biting someone in the past. He has a huge negative public profile, something that's his own fault.

What has Defoe ever done apart from that bite incident? He doesn't have a controversial history of diving, cheating and other negative incidents, hence the different response.

This is obvious, yet because of your pigheaded allegiance to Suarez, you refuse to see it. In any walk of life, a person with a long history of negative behaviour will be treated differently to someone who makes a one-off mistake.

If Suarez had never done anything in the past and bit Ivanovic, the incident would've been written off as a one-off, and/or the response would not have been so severe.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Suarez got a bigger ban because he said what he said more than once, I get it. I don't agree not because it's Suarez but because I feel calling someone who is black, black, is not as bad as calling him a black cnt. Not even if you do it more than once. On the PM - he commented on this one incident only. He never mentioned any other incidents so let's stick to what he actually said ok? The PM pretending to be morally outraged by what Suarez did is nothing more than him trying to win votes by tuning in with what he thinks people want to hear from him.

    ReplyDelete
  53. do you speak german? he even made jokes about the bite, in the afterinterview ;)

    ReplyDelete
  54. It doesn't look ungrateful at all. Any reasonable person will understand that if you work abroad and your wife and kid are unhappy, it makes perfect sense that you move them somewhere where they are when you get the chance.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Mr. Point Of View11:33 am, May 30, 2013

hope our transfer committee do the best

    ReplyDelete
  56. I agree with you, however be careful when you say "the only way is up" because we could lose the likes of not only Suarez but Reina and Skrtel, and if the wrong signings are made and things go wrong on the pitch, it could turn into a disaster. I think we will be in a better position next season, but there's certainly no guarantee.

    ReplyDelete
  57. And Bale? Nobody seems too bothered about a man who has been diving here there and everywhere last season, in fact he becomes Player of The Year. Terry? Accused of racism and is given a sentence a hell of a lot shorter than that of what Suarez was given, fair? No, unfortunately they were both guilty, so they should be given the same punishment. What Suarez said was no worse than that of what Terry said and yet suffers more consequences.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I fail to see how you have sufficient evidence of another's mindset to make this statement Jamie. Just because he likes and supports Suarez doesn't mean he doesn't prioritise LFC above him. Anymore than you disliking what Suarez is/does means that you don't support LFC
It is NOT putting Suarez above the club to continue to support him. And I will argue just as vehemently as you do that you are not necessarily able to decide on people's views in that way.
Suarez may well be on his way, if he does we will take the money and find a different route to the top. But that doesn't mean that Suarez leaving would be best for LFC...

    ReplyDelete
  59. Seen a vid of him. Imagine him and Coutinho in a couple of years, frightening....

    http://youtu.be/h60Oz0_OrO8

We still need an Eriksen though. But now you can see what Rodgers is trying to do. When Fergie or Wenger does it it's lauded. But for some reason some people only want marquee players for more money than we have.

Still need Papa to join, still need a Diame type and still need competition for Jose.

But we are definitely looking good for a long term solution...

    ReplyDelete
  60. maybe they do not but i bet they signed the best ones

    ReplyDelete
  61. we will be a feeder club and the sharks are circling

    ReplyDelete
  62. Get off your high horse for one second Jamie.
Some of the comments/ videos I've seen have been personal and spiteful in their nature. That is NOT acceptable, even if you dislike what he has done.

    ReplyDelete
  63. jaimie he could stop it all tomorrow but could you ever forget it i doubt it,wether he stays or goes (hopefully he stays)give the man a chance you did not want him to sign and have never given him a chance thats just my opinion

    ReplyDelete
  64. Jamie your logic fails me!
Agents want to make money, and they do so with large transfers.
if the agent wants and knows that Suarez is or wants to go
then who cares how the fans or board see him
    (ungrateful, or harassed etc)

the agent must know that Liverpool are not planning to sell him, or they are going to request a fee that would be off the charts and make him then NON accessible.

Any agent that states clearly that his player is going nowhere.

then their is good reason for " damage control"
as he will still be playing for Liverpool next season, and hence needs the goodwill of all.

please explain how your comment of damage control, is necessary IF THE PLAYER IS LEAVING

logic dictates, that the statement is a clear giveaway that Suarez is going nowhere!

kindly explain how you can explain things any differently,
and what exactly are the mechanics of
    " damage control"? !
    Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  65. I like this LUIS ALBERTO more than the other player we signed yesterday.I thought we could challenge for top 4 next season but these aren't the names I had in mind.I hope we pick up the standard and get some players that scare our rivals and excite the fans!

    ReplyDelete
  66. It's my opinion based on what I perceive. Whether it's right or wrong is irrelevant. Similarly, if someone argues that I don't support LFC because of my atitude to Suarez then that's fair enough - that's their perception.

    ReplyDelete
  67. This, I don't understand. All season people have been fawning over Michu because he is so fantastic and cost so little yet the minute we sign someone who is not Messi or Ronaldo people start moaning. Think about this, had we signed Michu last summer, you would have moaned about that signing too....

    ReplyDelete
  68. Yes I speak German though not perfectly. Just listened to it there. The guy was a real nuitcase. Used to love him and Lehmann going head to head.

    ReplyDelete
  69. The transfer window isn't even open and we've lined up three transfers already. Four if you count that 16 year old kid from Barca. I honestly didn't expect this. It could of course be the case that we won't do any the rest of the summer but I honestly expected max four first team challengers to come in. Five if Pep leaves. Six if Luis etc. I would have thought he would stick with players like Downing for squad rotation. These signings either tell me he will make the squad younger on top of buying first teamers or we're completely going Arsenal and will not buy players with big reputations for big fees anymore. This kid reminds me of Suso tbh. Same type of player, same movement, same hometown even. We'll see what the summer brings but it's already surprised me three times so far..

    ReplyDelete
  70. lets see who arsenal sign this summer i think you may be suprised

    ReplyDelete
  71. mike the thing is if things do not improve markedly coutinho will be wanting to move on ,players will not hang around for ever

    ReplyDelete
  73. liverpool4life56512:53 pm, May 30, 2013

I agree, them two will be great to watch, with sturridges, aspas,Suarez (if he stays)up top looking great to me! But we are also looking at Muriel

    ReplyDelete
  74. I've been hearing that for a couple of years now. Last January they were supposed to spend 50 million and spent nothing at all.

    ReplyDelete
  75. jk any news on sturridge injury

    ReplyDelete
  76. Jason - are you Private Fraser (Dad's Army) in disguise? All of your posts scream 'We're all DOOMED'

    ReplyDelete
  77. If Suarez loved the club he would never openly flirt with joining another team in an interview. Fowler would NEVER have done that. Not even Torres did that. No comment are the easiest words to say.

    ReplyDelete
  78. I am a fan of Liverpool. I am a fan of having great players at Liverpool.

I genuinely don't believe he is going anywhere, not yet anyway.

We looked after Luis Suarez, Now Luis Suarez is going to look after us!!!!

Your comments in regards to his agent are strange.

BS it also says they've been talking for a few weeks, when today his agent has said he staying, if they've been talking a few weeks would his agent of said that? Don't think so...

    ReplyDelete
  83. I think that after all liverpool has done for Suarez, he wouldn't leave... But i have the feeling that he is going go... Either way, i dont care... If he leaves, that shows his lack of loyalty n gratitude n should be sent out with a kick in the backside...

If he is having a hard time, it's because of his wrong actions... And i agree that the club has wrongly dealt with him, time and again...

Hopefully, the players like aspas n luis alberto 'will do a coutinho' and surprise us all :)

    ReplyDelete
  84. I don't agree. I think wanting to keep a good player at the club means he wants to the club to continue to be successful. Not everyone shares your view that Suarez is a liability. Your position on Suarez, that he's a liability for the club, is not shared by everyone and itself creates the polarisation of views. That leads you to conclude that fans who don't agree with you are Suarez enablers who don't care about LFC. In fact they're not valuing the player over the club, they just don't agree with you that he's a problem. The only strong view being expressed is yours. You are the one who creates the divisive opinion in the first place, thereby rendering people who effectively take no strong position on the issue as being enablers.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Jamie,
I really enjoy your sight and the fact that you know your stuff, and cover all issues in detail and objectively.
yet,I can't say that I'm not disappointed with your dismissive answer!
I made a logical deduction which was more then reasonable and in total contrast to your rational.

instead of receiving a decent response, nullifying my point..
or at least explaining what you mean by “standard practice of agents 101"
You ignore my point and request for explanation
on what you mean by S.P101!?

    and for all my input
for all intensive purposes you totally ignore my argument and fob me off with your response that
    " you've already explained it“

    with greatest respect Jamie...
    that's no answer whatsoever

and with Apologies, you have not explained anything
not least my argument, which I believe to be logical and succinct
    Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I'm not in for a summer long of real trying to save 5 mill. pay up or go. I don't want him to leave but if his heart is set on Madrid then show us the money.

    ReplyDelete
  89. What about them? If they're the best in their position, they'll play.

It's just a masterpiece of writing then lol. You state CLEARLY as if it was an undisputed fact.
You often chide people for misrepresenting your words however this sidesteps that accusation nicely.
    Bravo

    ReplyDelete
  91. is it possible that he had a £40 mill cause written into his contract? Makes it easier for him to leave.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Mike Aitcheson1:43 pm, May 30, 2013

Like I said before, it's all about the existence or not of that clause.
Without it, LFC should demand Bale money for Suarez, he's at least his equal if not better- Bale only did it for part of the season, it's just that he scored 9 goals that were winners

    ReplyDelete
  93. Agents do have a habit of BS-ing.

  96. just reading guillem balague twitter and he seems to think LFC know Suarez is going and that he does have a 40mill clause in his contract. I bet Suarez put this in himself when he resigned a year ago.

    ReplyDelete
  97. I wouldn't rely on that kind of benchmark-ing to gauge a fee, football is a messy business, imo. Suarez only has one full season of really good form in one of the top 4 leagues in Europe and is older (Just musing here, so I'm not relying on this to benchmark a gauge either). I can see why Bale could go for more, considerably more.

    ReplyDelete
  98. I remember watching Allen live playing against City 2nd game of the season. He is a great player. I believe he will come good next season and the season after etc. etc.

    ReplyDelete
  99. He looks like Kaka when he's on the ball... Good stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  100. been hearing really good things about him,. but like Coutinho he had no chance of really breaking into the Barca first team. Again, like Inter their loss is our gain.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Better than sounding like a cheap hooker whoring himself to the first club who sniffs about. How about "I'm under contract with a club who have been very loyal to me and fans who I love. Therefore I will not engage in transfer talk about any other football club"? As long as he doesn't openly entertain a transfer to a club who are yet to even put out a statement about him while we are stating that we are not looking to sell him. Easy. Love the club my arse.

  102. Don't worry JC Aspas is basically Suarez without the biting and cheating so a like for like there. Coutinho is gonna be immense and this new lad will surprise a lot of people. Just like to point out that i told you we would have a busy summer! Window hasn't even opened yet!!! lol

  103. Fernando Torres - "I bleed Liverpool Red."
Luis Suarez - "My future is at Liverpool."

Every footballer wants to play in Europe. Period. If we go down in the tables, yes he will want to move on. Pepe R. wants to go, his heart is in Barcellona. Hell, even Steven Gerrard thought about it. Suraez was out the door without a second's pause. If he's the best part of a crap team, other teams that can compete will look at him, and offer him more money. Playing in Europe, making more money, of course he will want to move on if things don't improve.

I'm not going to say we're doomed next season. But realistically, there is no one
who has signed so far who is going to take us up past 5th. And with
Suarez leaving, based on the signings so far, we're looking 7th or 8th
again next season. We need a few more signings on defense, and another top scorer. That 40 millions from Suarez will let us sign a few more players, but there's no one who is going to carry this team with 20+ goals coming to LFC.

  104. The best of the youth teams was promoted to the first team leaving players from the age bracket below playing above their age group. The under 21's had 16 year olds playing at times last season which is why they had difficulties against some of the stronger sides as they lacked experience.

  105. It may be the Barcelona reserve team - yet it also happens to be the Spanish Segunda - I.e the Spanish second division! So it is a very competitive league - and the Spanish Segunda division is of a much higher quality than the English Championship and we have all seen how hyped pundits are about Wilfrid Zaha - and for Luis Alberto to statistically outshine one Gerard Deulofeu who Barca want to partner alongside Leo Messi in a few years time - speaks for itself! xx Come on LFC and tie upon the deal as soon as we can xx

  106. If Im not mistaken, apart from Barca young striker, no one has actually signed yet. Toure has only agreed in principle and only a bid accepted for Aspas

  107. More youth and no experience great just what we need!!we need to be looking at established players not,in a word wasteing 5million of of what's more than Likely a small budget on youth players!

  108. 'No, he is quite clearly a fan of Suarez over LFC, just like all the Suarez apologists'!!

Excuse me?? Your some man for one man!!

  109. He does not like losing arguments.

  110. ok that's clear then. Reina obviously doesn't love LFC either. I guess you don't have kids or still are one. His wife and kid are unhappy in Liverpool and their relatives live in Spain. It's perfectly understandable that his first loyalty lies with his family and not with pretend Liverpool supporters like yourself and JK.

  111. Oh grow up! Reina has put in years of dutiful service and has behaved impeccably through out his 7 year service. He is owed a move. And even then he has been balanced in his words. Luis Suarez on the otherhand has grinned and fluttered his eyes through his first post season interview after the fans and the club were forced to defend him yet again for unnecessary snd unreasonable behaviour. Let's be clear: he is a footballer with a short career span. Their careers are measured by money and achievements. Liverpool can't achieve what he clearly deserves and so I do not begrudge him a move and to play at the top level. Same with Reina who has given great service to the club and has been wel rewarded for it financially. But given all the ridiculous trouble Suarez in particular has put us through I would have expected a man that supposedly loves us to handle the transition with more class and respect. Instead he decided to bat his eyelids lovingly at Real Madrid as if all our support never even happened.

  112. Chelsea misread Torres, had they examined him closer, they would have seen Stevie G was directly or indirectly responsible for 75% of his goals. Torres without Gerrard, well we have seen what happened.

  113. Borini is unproven yet, is he good or just useful we dont know yet. I see he is in the Italy squad for the underage Euro's.His performance in that will answer a lot of questions, I hope.

  114. They wont touch Luis, he bites back.

  115. All of our support? I haven't caught you supporting him yet.

    ReplyDelete
  116. No I suppose I support the actual full team and club and not simply worship players who, whatever their talents, display racist, cynical, disrespectful and disloyal behaviour. Behaviour that is basically opposite to the Spirit of Shankly. I tried to support the guy but time and time again he has betrayed the club even going as far as making Kenny Dalglish look like a moron. Our greatest most respected figure alive looking like a blabbering idiot because he was so convinced that he shook hands like he promised the club he would. His word was supposed to be his bond. You may wish to gloss over that and other incidents but I am a man and I judge men on their actions and principles and as a sportsman Luis Suarez has failed in a very un-Liverpool manner. There's no more posters on my wall of men who are younger than me. I'll call him out on it. All it shows me is how quickly fans are to abandon their principles whena player is as good as Suarez rather thsn as bad as El Hadj Diouf. Maybe it's because I grew up in an era where the Liverpool players were men and I had my pick of Barnes, Beardsley, Rush, Dalglish, McMahon, Molby, Aldridge who I can call my hero. As such my standard of what it takes to be a real Liverpool hero is a little higher than yours but at least by not partaking personally in the arse licking that 'we' have as a collective have given Luis Suarez I can rest easy with my conscience intact.

  117. The signing of this fellow and Aspas tells me this lot of scouts may actually be earning their money and some imagination being shown by the club.

  118. Did people think the same about Micu when he signed for Swansea last year. I agree though all footballers want to be playing in Europe.
