'I'm worried' - Keegan warns that boss will 'probably get the sack'.

Liverpool legend Kevin Keegan has blasted the 'ridiculous' nature of the Premier League managerial merry-go round, and he's warned Spurs boss Andre Villas Boas that he could be on borrowed time at White Hart Lane.

Speaking at the Soccerex conference in Manchester, Keegan slammed the incessant pressure place on Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini, and made a surprising prediction for the next Premier League managerial casualty. He noted:

"I am getting really worried for Villas-Boas. They’ve gone down to fourth, and if they finish there, he’ll probably get the sack, because Harry did.

"Harry finished fourth, and in any other season he would have been in the Champions’ League. It can’t be right, but it can happen"

According to several prominent UK bookmakers - including Skybet, William Hill and Paddy Power - the odds on AVB being sacked by Spurs are currently 100-1, and given the London club's overall good form this season, it seems massively unlikely that the Portuguese will get the bullet after just one season.

Brendan Rodgers is also at 100-1 for the sack, but if Keegan is right, and AVB is at risk even if Spurs finish fourth, where does that leave Rodgers, whose Liverpool team is struggling to make it into the top six?

AVB was linked with a move to Anfield last summer, and if he'd got the job, would Liverpool's season have gone differently? To be brutally honest, at Spurs, AVB has basically maintained the top-four status achieved under Redknapp, but has he actually moved the club forward overall?

How would AVB have dealt with the pressure of the Liverpool job? Would the Reds be higher in the league table right now if he'd been given the job.

The likes of Joe Allen, Oussama Assaidi and Fabio Borini almost certainly wouldn't be at the club right now if AVB was in charge, but the Reds might have Jan Vertonghen, Moussa Dembele, and Clint Dempsey instead, three players who'd probably make a much bigger impact than the aforementioned signings.

If you could turn back time, would you take AVB over Rodgers?

  1. Allen, Assaidi and Borini would not be at Liverpool and neither would Coutinho and Sturridge. Nor would Dempsey because FSG would still have felt he was too expensive.

  2. 1. The pressure on Mancini is his own doing. He consistently blames everyone but himself for his team's failure, and takes all the credit for his team's success. And then he has the audacity to complain that he didn't get to spend enough money in January.

    2. I don't think AVB gets sacked. Harry played with fire when he flirted with the England job, and he got burned when his team floundered. The only reason why AVB is gone is if they can bring in someone better (and that seems unlikely to me) or if the team drops heavily.

    3. The expectations on BR this season were not for a top four position. I think that if he's in a similar spot next year with no sign of improvement and at the very least challenging for top 4, then it'll be a real question. I believe FSG made a multi year commitment to him to give him a chance to build a team.

    4. To assume that Vertonghen, Dembele, and Dempsey would all be here if AVB was manager is not necessarily fair. It's like saying that if we signed Michu, he would be lighting it up for us just like he has for Swansea. The assumption can't be applied.

  3. Pardew Lambert or Pulis seems more likely to me

Nah still keep Rodgers because you got to realise (spurs made a bid for Allen which activated the clause) also Allen criticism has been harsh got two goals this year when half the time he been carrying a injury(never right a player off remember. Lucas? Henderson? Downing?) also you can't judge borini he hasn't had time to make a impact. Also assaidi when played from the start has played well (he no impact sub) :)

  5. rodgers will not be sacked hes fireproof were stuck with him ,more of the same shit next season more of the same excuses ,i,ve accustomed myself to expect crap performances and over the top praise for next season sad but true ,just cannot wait for this season to finish and dreadind the next ,the 1st time in my life when pre season will be the best part about the season ,hopefully we can beat the mighty reading on saturdat but with rodgers in charge i have no confidence what so ever ,and anyone who would bet there life on a win is an absolute fool or on a suicide mission after the way we have peformed this season under rodgers

  6. I don't think AVB will get the sack and I cannot see where Keegan is coming from. There were noises coming out of Spurs (a supporter tells me) that senior players expressed concern at training regimes and Redknapp's tactical nous. For example, he used to tell strikers to go on the pitch and run around a lot.

I'm guessing Levy wanted to build for the future and the fact Redknapp basically wanted the England job so bad and wouldn't committ.

So in sum, Keegan has it wrong.

  7. There both inexperienced who have no winning mentality. There's 5 managers in the world that do have the mentality who get what they want.
    Mourinho,Dalglish,Benitez,fergie, and del bosque!!
We had 2 of them and got rid of them for no reason.
We could always get 3 of them 5 back. Lets get the winning mentality back into the most successful British team. Because each season were losing our status and playing catch up to manufactured clubs as well as united.

  8. Of course AVB won't get sacked! This seems to me to be Keegan pointing out the absurdity of pressure on managers, his comment seems to have been taken a little out of context. Read it again with this in mind and see what you think

    ReplyDelete
  9. hes got one goal that took 20 deflections before it found the target and no assists you can wrap allen up any way you want but he will still be shiteand as for borini you really do need to pull your head out of rodgers arse because to call him shite is unfair to shite

    ReplyDelete
  10. Big mate of Harry Redknapp by any chance Kevin?

    ReplyDelete
  11. How exactly can his comments be taken out of context? He says:

'I'm getting really worried about AVB. If they finish there [fourth] he'll probably get the sack'

There's no ambiguity there: his opinion is that he's worried that AVB will get the sack!

Still a GOAL!, also he play isn't that anyway! He wins the ball back and starts the attack, you need to get a grip of football, he has a 5 year deal! He got plenty of time to prove doubters wrong, also borini has hardly played games to be judged. He only 22 plenty of time to come good.

  13. Harry Rednknapp himself told reporters he told a foreign subs translater to tell him to "f-ing run around". He knew it was funny. But what he meant was for the player to make himself busy/a nuisance.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Why is Keegan worried, they're not exactly bosom buddies are they?

  15. liverpool4life56510:25 pm, April 11, 2013

Why should rodgers get a sack? we've been in this positions since Benitez got the sack, we've been through two managers since then, we need stability, this season was always going to be a right off, because of the style change, but if there not improvement next year then we will see.

  16. You'll never be satisfied- why bother even watching football? Something to gripe about? Honest question.

  17. Never realised we won the treble with Kenny last season

    ReplyDelete
  18. Hopefully Pulis gets that shit club back where it belongs before he goes...In the championship

  20. Why don't you support Spurs then?

  21. liverpool4life56511:57 pm, April 11, 2013

I agree, he is in dream land.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Rubbish from Keegan.

AVB has done really well, with little fire power up front. Top four would be immense for them, probably would be better for Liverpool if Spurs finish outside of top four.

BR won't get sacked, he has to be given time. Time is the key.

Rafa's comments, regardless of highly I rate him, were totally out of order.

I if could turn back time, BR over AVB

    ReplyDelete
  23. With how negative he usually is, it sounds more like he's living a nightmare

    ReplyDelete
  24. I don't think you can really dig too much at AVB for "only" maintaining Spurs top four position (if he does) considering that they have a negative transfer net spend (I know how people on this site do so love the net spend). Compared to what some of the teams around them spend that's a pretty good accomplishment.

  25. Sacking a manager after one season wiil be counterproductive for any team.
Buck should be given another season.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Yeah don't express a balanced opinion Chris, George gets upset. Keep it biased!

    ReplyDelete
  27. He's just having a sly dig about Redknapp getting sacked, he knows AVB won't be going anywhere.

    ReplyDelete
  28. If I could turn back time, I would do the following: 1. Prevent Souness from becoming manager in the 90s. 2. Stop David Moores from selling to Gillette and Hicks. Personally, I believe these 2 events made us lose our greatness.

    ReplyDelete
  29. As a Spurs fan (only commenting because this showed up on our Newsnow page) I get heartily sick of the media narrative--which the author seems to have embraced--that AVB is just using Harry's players and not achieving anything in his own right. I'd say losing a good chunk of your spine in Ledley King, Luca Modic and RDV--all top class players--would hinder any manager, but AVB is keeping on a par with what Harry achieved with what is probably a somewhat worse team.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I think Vertonghen and Dempsey were not AVB preferred signings. Spurs scouting team/Chairman made the decision. I am not sure AVB would go for Dempsey. Vertonghen talks took place even before AVB was manager. .

    ReplyDelete
  31. Agreed. Given Redknapp's track record, it's pretty obvious that the guy knows his football.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I don't think Spurs will finish 4th to be honest! I think the Gunners will take that spot!
In regards to Rogers, I believe he will be given another year most definitely!

    ReplyDelete
  33. We have also gone thru £160 million in players since Rafa got the sack. Thats why we should not be in this position.

    ReplyDelete
  34. i will never be satisfied with the worst season on living record your right why should i

    ReplyDelete
  35. were did i say that ,just trying to justify rodgers won nothing again infact he never got close

    ReplyDelete
  36. so is it one goal or two or did you add a goal on to make his stats look better there still rubbish

    ReplyDelete

  41. nope only man i want or wanted was rafa,...if brendon fails next year..i hope owners see sense....and bring back rafa...

    ReplyDelete
  42. also for everyone who says were better this year than under kenny?...under kenny we were in 2 cup finals won one...this year we were nowere near any. are league form is inconsistent..i am all for brendon getting another year..he deserves that.but if he is the same next year then i,lll want,,rafa back...not one of the owners guess work managers...rafa got us 2nd once champions league winners fa cup winners.. and most will crap owners who he fought..all the while he was there imagin with backing us behind him how he would do..

    ReplyDelete
  43. keegan is a waffler with no clue. AVB has been brought in to oversee a long term project, and he's doing pretty well.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I was wondering how long it would take for you to turn on BR Jamie...many of your posts now talk about him getting the sack. I just hope this isn't going to be a repeat of your anti KD bull which you spouted at us for too long.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Dont argue with Jason, you need to realise he is ALWAYS right....

    ReplyDelete
  46. Jason, every comment I read of yours gives me a bit of deja-vu?? Now I remember, you sound like my brother...who's a Man Ure fan!!! Lol.
A true football fan (which I've always thought most LFC fans are) supports their team and manager through thick and thin...unless you're a Manc of course.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I would have preferred AVB to BR at the time. When I heard we wanted him I
was rather happy. But now we have BR, even though I am not his biggest fan, I think it would be a mistake to sack him. He needs another season or two to give it a fair shot. If next season there is no clear progress then I do not know.

I hate the thought of Liverpool sacking managers but this isn't the 70's anymore. If he were to go next season, who would we replace him with? Klopp, Diego Semeone?

Here are my positives and negatives so far IMO:

    Positives:

    - Attacking style of football

    - Flowing pass and move

    - Higher level of creativity & more freedom

    - More goals scored

    - Managing the fitness of Agger and Gerrard (players who have suffered with
    injuries a lot)

    - Underachieving players improving (Downing, Henderson, Enrique)

    - Not afraid to bench or call out under performing players ( I.E. Shelvey, Skrtel,
    Allen, Downing, Henderson, Enrique)

    - Learning from his mistakes (well, some)- Dropping Skrtel and recalling
    Carragher

    - Getting rid of some baggage/surplus/injury prone players/high wagers (I.E
    Cole, Aqualani, Aurelio)

    - Blooding out young players such as Sterling, Suso, Wisdom and taking care of them by not overplaying them when not necessary. (Sterling and Wisdom were played more out of necessity rather than luxury)

    - Contract extensions to key players & hot prospects: Kelly, Shelvey, Sterling, Wisdom, Suso, Agger, Lucas, Suarez (anyone else?)

    - Good transfer deals in January (Sturridge & Coutinho) with immediate
    impacts

    Negatives:

    - Trying to sell key players too quickly (Kuyt, Rodriguez, Adam) and not
    getting adequate replacements

    - Lowering expectations of the club by constantly mentioning of the “big
challenge” we have at our hands

    - Constantly over praising players for below par/ average performances,
especially on draws and losses against average teams

    - Glorifying players such as Gerrard and Suarez throughout the season

    - Does not know when to keep his mouth shut sometimes

    - Paying over the odds for Allen (£15M) when there was better players around for the amount of money paid

    - Turning a blind eye to Suarez antics, namely his early season diving, in
    turn condoning it

    - Poor tactical prowess and player selection by benching players who are playing well

    - Benching Henderson after he played really well and playing an out of confidence/average INJURED Allen in his place)

    - Contributing to Allen’s injuries by playing him when was injured

    - Failure to sign a striker in the summer and blaming the lack of
    time/scouting

    - Poor cup performances ( League Cup and FA Cup)

    - Signing on loan Sahin for a huge loan fee and wages and: Not playing him
in his natural position, benching him constantly, cancelling him loan deal
which no doubt must have cost the club.

    - League inconsistency

    Thoughts?

    ReplyDelete
  48. The article is not suggesting we sacking him, but rather since Keegan made expressed concern over AVB's position, keeping in mind Tottenham are having a better season than us, if he gets sacked, then what would be BR's position since he performed worse than AVB.

I agree with you that BR needs time, sacking him this season would be a mistake, unless Mourinho etc...want to come here.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I still think AVB would have bought better players, BR had around £58M on transfers (keeping in mind the players he sold and bought including January).

    ReplyDelete
  50. True. He still had a good squad when he joined though.

    ReplyDelete
  51. "...to call him shite is unfair to shite.".......HILARIOUS!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  52. I agree with you. You guys did lose 3 big players and I feel you only replaced one, Ledley King with Vertonghen.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I don't think BR has performed any worse than AVB. AVB took over when Tottenham were in the top four & they're still there. BR took over when LFC were top 7 or 8 & they're still there so both have maintained the status quo really.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Hmmm interesting way of putting it really.

    ReplyDelete
  55. LOL Jason, you always crack me up...the shite comment lol

  56. KD was fireproof as well though...Liverpool Legend, worshiped by the fans, winning track record with Liverpool, won a cup and got us into the FA cup final...still got the sack.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Jaimie, if you really thought KK was not being a bit sarcastic you'd presumably take it as a serious comment from a knowledgeable footballing man. So I assume you have put £100 on each of these two managers to get the sack? I mean, if only one comes through you'll win £10,000. No brainier!

Unless of course you, like the rest of us, know KKs tone was clearly being sarcastic, a comment more about the absurdity of managers getting sacked despite finishing high in the table rather than a prediction on them actually being sacked!

    ReplyDelete
  58. not always i will hold my hands up if i am wrong but nothing rodgers allen and borini have done so far this season as imo proved me wrong

  61. imo fsg got rid of kd before he did become to powerful for them to keep a reign on ,hence our replacement was someone who was so happy to get the job that he was never going to rock fsg,s boat hence the carrol dempsey saga

    ReplyDelete
  62. and i,am sure mr moores would as well

    ReplyDelete
  63. speculation speculation, and another misleading title to get views..........

    ReplyDelete
  64. I do not think AVB will get sacked. I really believe that the reason Harry was replaced was due to his court case and his refusal to come out openly that he was more interested in spurs than getting the England job. Harry was touted by everyone for the England job and i think he really did believe he would get it, when he didn't it left him in limbo as Spurs backed him over his court case but harry did not back spurs over England. I think this was the catalyst to his sacking and I dont believe it was about him doing a bad job.

  70. KD gave us stability and the feel good factor, i remember loosing to wolves who were at the bottom of the league and was singing 'Hodgson for England' it was the lowest point as a Liverpool fan. KD put his credibility on the line to come back, he did not have to, he could of just stayed a legend in his own right but WE, all in unison wanted him back, (96%) if I remember.

He instantly transformed us and started bringing in the youth, and then last year he signed a load of players which would take time to bed in but we knew he had a 3 year contract and if anyone was going to be given time it would of been KD. Although the league form was haphazard which was mainly down to poor finishing and not tactics. However the promise was their as we were beating the likes of Man U, Chelsea, Man city when it all come together.

In addition, last year I was still buzzing in April and the semi final over Everton was brilliant. Under KD we got credibility again and won something for the first time in 6 years. We were not the best but we had glimpses of improvement especially considering the Hodgson era. Ultimately he was sacked for not achieving 4th and producing the results the owners demanded. He was labelled a failure and spent too much but it in his defence I believe Ian Ayre and Commolli had more to do with the finances, as during KD's first spell Peter Robinson used to sorted everything as that was his job, KD just highlighted the players in and out.

Ultimately KD was replaced and BR was hailed as the best thing since sliced bread and would bring in modern tactics and a brand of football that would have us all mesmerized.

He started by giving some inspiring statements and i started to believe this guy is going to be something special as he was saying all the right things when he first come.

Over the course of the season though i cannot see where he has achieved more than KD. All I Know is at the end of this season I will look back and think, what was memorable about this season, what was that moment when I was over joyed and ecstatic to be honest there isn't my mind is blank, the only moment when i was over joyed all season was when Man utd went out to Madrid in the CL. Liverpool under BR is predictable with no excitement, this is why i do not warm to the man and if KD was given his marching orders for what he did then BR should be given the same treatment.

Kennys signings or Brendan signings? Hmmm hard one, nah Brendan all the way, kenny just brought British players an one or two from abroad, given time Brendan can build a better team.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Really!! that does surprise me, I have put them below, please feel free to tell me if you still agree KD or BR. Me personally I would rather have KD's Signings, who agrees????

KD - Suarez Carroll, Henderson, Adam, doni, downing, Enrique Coates & Bellamy.

BR - Borini, Allen, Assadi, Yesil, Sahin (Loan), Sturridge, Coutinho.

    ReplyDelete
  76. liverpool4life5651:20 pm, April 12, 2013

Add up kennys cost and Brendan's, Brendan's has spent less also kenny spent 35 million on Carroll... Which would of brought in Rodgers books coutinho,Sturridge, assaidi, and still money left over..

    ReplyDelete
  77. i try to concentrate on our good players ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  78. now your adding stuff!!! lol. Right KD spent approximately spent about 115m and brought in and got rid of torres, meireles, babbel, ngog, konchesky, brua, ayala,el zahar, janovich, ince, kyrgiakos, insua, poulsen, degen, hansen, had a net spend of 41m but also saved a massive amount on wages due to how many he shipped out, some reports approximately 40m a yr in total.

BR has spent approximately 49m and got rid of aurellio, amoo, darby, kuyt, rodriguez, aquilani, bellamy, adam, eccleston, cole and doni. His net spend is 43m and has probably saved the club some wages.

so both managers have approximately spent around 40 odd million net and saved considerable sums on wages. so back to the original question, whos signings?? me still with KD, he had a massive clear out and change around, if their was anyone that needed time it was him!! he deserved an extra year for getting rid of konchesky and to be fair, bellamy, aqua, rodriguez, kuyt, aurellio and cole where already leaving the club if KD would of stayed, so really they would of been his wage savings.

    ReplyDelete
  79. They are both shit and simply a continuation of LFC's transfer policy of wasting money every year with shit players in positions we dont need.

    ReplyDelete
  80. This doesn't even make any sense. See my true colors? Because you only focus on the facts that support your argument but ignore the ones that don't, and that I have the AUDACITY to say that?

    ReplyDelete
  81. Where did I ever say that Rodgers has been a "success" or that this season has been successful?

All I've ever done is not continually bash him like you.

Have I ever been critical about him? Yes.

Have you ever said anything positive about him? Not that I can recall.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Again from so many comments up there, you only choose to reply to the ones which you feel comfortable with.. Such a good fans you are.. You only care to winning the debate, youre not really care bout liverpool..

    ReplyDelete
  83. you mean write off.... I think we should judge BR next season and hope the defensive frailness is sorted first and foremost.

    ReplyDelete
  84. It is losing not loosing... this really bothers me.

    ReplyDelete
  85. It's not all about signings. It is the shape as well. Skrtel has gone from one of the best defenders to a nobody after Brendan took over. We have gotten rid of Bellamy, Kuyt and Carroll and initially replaced them with only Borini and got rid of Adam, Aquilani and Spearing who all could have done better than Allen this season who was bought for a ridiculous amount.

    ReplyDelete
  86. were did i ask you if he has been a success on this thread

    ReplyDelete
  87. I would rather have Benitez back who knew about tactics and had us consistently competing for and in the Champions League until the Boardroom BS hindered him.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Allen and Borini were a terrible waste. Carroll was bought with Torres's fee.

    ReplyDelete
  89. no your back stabbing comments to liverpoolfor life thats what i meant your a snidey twqt if you want to snipe do it to my posts

    ReplyDelete
  90. what you on about i reply to everyones comments even stupid ones like yours ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  91. Kenny should have had another year which is fair. The amount spent on British mediocrity was criminal however. Benitez if anything should have had another year after 3 years of negative transfers and only one year out of the top 4 with the likes of Ngog upfront when Torres was injured.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Brendan should have had longer to prove himself before trying his luck at Liverpool. We shouldn't have gotten rid of a get rid of a 2 time La Liga winner, Champions League winner and Top 4 maestro for a rookie.

    ReplyDelete
  93. You didn't. I misread your comment for L4L565 as though it was directed at me. My mistake.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Backstabbing? You can read what I wrote. I responded directly to his comment which was in response to yours. Not like I was trying to hide it.

Stop the name calling. I haven't resorted to calling you names; there's no call for that.

It's not my fault that you can't handle that I call to attention that you continually ignore any views other than your own and the facts which support them. And you subsequently respond in "snide" ways. You can give it but you can't take it obviously.

I'm done with this argument. Good Day.

  103. Yeah we won nothing...? IS that any surprise? We are not a top 4 team,we can be at times but overall we're a few players off it,the cup runs last season were great and all but the league is what matters, and the fact is we didn't perform as well as we have this season,Sure our position doesn't reflect that but anyone can see we're playing a lot better. If Kenny hadn't wasted £55m on Carroll and Downing then Id sympathise with him but, with that money wasted I cant as much as some people hate to accept it he had to go after that money wasted,And dont bring up the point of 'Rodgers spents such and such this player and that player' The difference is one; They still have some sort of resale value,Two they all are good prospects and will get better,You seem to have a strong dislike for Borini Id nearly go as far as hatred,Yet Its clear as day he has the makings of a good player,He has a football brain which is evident with his off the ball runs,Im not one to blindly defend Rodgers and Hes pissed me off some times this season BUT calling him to go is a disgrace.

  111. I don't agree. I'd much rather have BR's signings.. Kenny Dalglish failed so bad.. his only good transfers were Suarez (AT 23MILLION POUNDS), Carroll (Whom was overpaid for by 20 odd millions) thus making him a "flop". ..
So, over almost 60 million pounds (And this is real money we are talking about) for 2 "good" signings.. yeah..

BR, after setting up some foundation to his transfer system and his whole managerial role as a whole, managed to sign sturridge and Coutinho for a bargain of 20Million, compared to the other 2.. You can't really blame him for signing the others, because else he wouldn't have had a squad to play football with... Give him this summer, and if he fails miserably like last summer, then you might have to re-evaluate his situation..

  112. Ridiculous.. You would still go with KD after the statement you just made?.. Lol.. He got rid of Torres, Meireles, Babel, Ince, Poulsen.. Need I say more? he shipped out all of our best players, OFCOURSE HE WAS GOING TO SAVE MONEY..... That's like saying, well, Barca might as well sell all their first XI, because then they'll save loads on wages, and make millions for the players, thus making good business, right? WRONG, because they wont be competing for shit, and will be playing lousy football, just as Liverpool ended up doing because of the series of unacceptable mistakes over the last 5-7 years or so.... It's finally turning around now with BR and FSG uniting to make the club the empire it once was,

  113. I'd definitely take AVB over BR if we could turn back the clock

BR talks a goiod gane but just doesn't have the experience, the cdontacts in the transfer market or the tactocal nous to succeed at Liverpool

It beggars belief that despite having been knocked out in all three cup competitions by inferior teams, despite trailing Everton, who have soent a fraction if what we have on players, in the league, and the likelihood that Suarez will be off, Liverpool fans think BR is doing a wonderful job

Liverpool fans used to be known for their intelligence of the game. Now they ought to be known for being the biggest mugs in football and not so much tolerating failure, but welcoming it with open arms

  114. Absolutely spot on - the decision to appoint Rodgers was an absolutely staggering one and just underlined how lavcking FSG is about anything football related

Even more staggering was the possitive reaction from the fans

rafa won two out of three league titles with valencia up against barca and real.

rodgers got sacked at watford and reading because he wasn't good enough

however, i don't see rodgers surviving summer, as everyone assumes. Sacking dalglish last season was a real statement of intent that not challenging for the top 4 isn't acceptable - no matter how well the team does in the cup competitions. This season has been a complete write off since our 3-0 thrashing at the hands of West Brom

That Rodgers thinks he's done a fantastic just underlines how ill suited he is to a ckub like LFC. and his decision to arrogantly refuse to work with a sporting director and then waste millons on joe allen and borini - neither of whom hacve even slightly improved the team is beyond misplaced arrogance

Is talking a good game all that's required to win round feeble-minded fans who obviously know as much aboiut football as FSG.

    It would seem so
