Worth a bid? LFC monitoring 'fantastic' £4m top-50 Anderlecht attacker...

Liverpool are once again being linked with a move for Anderlecht midfielder Dennis Praet.

The Reds were linked with the youngster during the 2011 summer transfer window, and Anfield scouts were dispatched to watch the 18-year old in Anderlecht's 2-0 victory against Waasland-Beveren in October.

Liverpool Scouts were not the only interested observers; representatives from clubs across Europe were also at the game to watch Praet - dubbed 'the next Eden Hazard - so it looks like there will be stiff competition should the Reds decide to make a move.

£4m-rated Praet is is under contract until 2015, and Anderlect general manager Herman Van Holsbeeck is confident that the youngster will go on to become a top player. He enthused:

"Dennis has proven that he has what it takes to become a fantastic player, in the future, he will go on to become one of the pillars of our team"

In an interview over the weekend, Praet was asked about rumours linking him with a move abroad. He responded:

"I've had the choice to go abroad, but I first want to finish my studies. And Anderlecht is a great club, and the biggest club in Belgium. I'm living a dream. I am in the centre of things at Anderlecht, I play my games and we win. What more could I want?

In the September 2012 edition of 'World Soccer' Praet was named one of the top 50 prospects in world football.

  1. He's not wanting to move until he's at least completed his education. He appears to be happy where he is. His manager won't sell, so what is the point of your article.

  2. Does he score goals? If not we don't want him. We already have enough good players who can't score.

  6. Forget this. Praet has said in an interview last week that he wants to get started at the University of Leuven next year and get an education. At his age that is a very wise decision. If he stays at Anderlecht for another three or four years he'll still only be 21 when he moves, if he moves. He's seen what happened to Lukaku, he's a smart kid.

  7. Signed a contract with CSKA Moscow in the summer, failed a medical because of injury, has now recovered and the deal with CSKA is still in place. Also, if you think Kewell or Kirkland were sicknotes, forget about M.Suarez. Good player, won't play more than half a season at a time in Moscow.

  8. Igor Biscan was also in that top 50 by the way. Way back when that is.

  9. Indeed. That's what I would in his situation. I still would like to experience being the student life to ensure some sort of safety net in case who know..football don't work out.

  10. LFC must try what ever happen to sign Dennis Praet and Filips Djuricic. Do not let Eden Hazard incident happen again.....very tradigedy. Now very cheap to sign high potential stars. Why not we try to grab oppurtunity. Don't wait untill last minutes and good players are missing to anothers clubs. So sad...
