Hendo as right full back ?? We cant afford 40 million full backs....
ReplyDeleteThis seems a bit early.
ReplyDeleteI'd be careful JK, or Jen Chang will be taking you out for lunch in no time ;)
Thought something not to dissimilar myself. Good point :-)
ReplyDeleteLiverpool have no strikers...it's a joke. They need Huntelaar n Sturridge in january...Andy Carroll doesn't look great for West Ham...they can keep him
ReplyDeleteDo you just make things up? Henderson at right back?
ReplyDeleteWhy allen hes had a tired day at everton plus newcastle coming next anyway a very risky team selection but this was obviously expected as the league is way more important
ReplyDeleteIs this the worst Liverpool side in over 20 years?
ReplyDeleteYesil IS a striker! So IS Adam Morgan.
ReplyDeleteYou couldn't make it up, could you?
ReplyDeleteLets hope for a great game
ReplyDeleteI'l never reveal my sources...even under torture ;-)
ReplyDeleteHe is BR's superman.
ReplyDeletehilarious
ReplyDeleteThat's the team; ask Rodgers why Hendo is at right back!
ReplyDeleteI guess, we are on the same wavelength on that...lol :)
ReplyDeleteAllen is a tad overrated...I actually think Shelvey has more potential. If Suarez wasn't at liverpool they'd be fighting relegation
ReplyDeleteI think BR might go for a 3-4-3 formation... Seems so to me though
ReplyDeleteCarragher + Henderson = a minimum of 1 goal conceded.
ReplyDeletethey or we? Whom do you support lad?
ReplyDeleteConor Coady in place of Joe Allen.
ReplyDeleteNo. Last 20 years? There would be any of Babel, Dundee, Adam, Degen, Pellegrino, Traore and loads of names in it that I don't even want to think about.
ReplyDeletehey essien at left back at real. owen hardgreaves played right back for man u in a couple of cl games. as a player its always easier for offensive players that drop down to mid or even to defense but nere a defender moving up to mid or foward. hell do good hes tenacious in defense and is a solid player
ReplyDeleteIf swansea fields a strong team we surely will be in trouble hope they rest their best players as well
ReplyDeleteI was about to ask the same thing. Why Allen?! The last thing we need is a burntout metronome when we seem to be picking up a decent run of form
ReplyDeleteThey/we...what diff. I support Liverpool but they need to make serious transfers in January. Is this team an improvement from last year? I don't think so
ReplyDeleteFinally we may have found something all of us could agree on.
ReplyDeleteCome on Jaimie, please tell us. We won't let anyone else know, promised.
ReplyDeleteMan City's second team is as good as Liverpool's first team...Liverpool's second team is very poor...is Assaidi playing as a striker?
ReplyDeleteits not a 3 4 3 as many said, im pretty sure
ReplyDeleteIMO its a good squad i just didnt expect henderson at right back, and i miss sahin
He obviously doesn't support us.
ReplyDeletei agree who is at the bck withcarra robinson joke realy isnt it
ReplyDeleteDon't think so. Robinson as a central defender? That probably won't happen.
ReplyDeleteWell, I would say we need to make bla bla...but anyway.. doesn't matter.
ReplyDeleteSome people always find something to moan about. Assaidi isn't a centre forward, but he is very much a forward. Yesil will obviously play as a striker because he is a striker. You don't follow Liverpool much, do you?
ReplyDeleteHe may not be your typical CB, but he's tall, mobile, left footed and can get physical. He can just be played as a CB to give mobility to the back 3...am not BR though, so am not so sure how he plans to play this out, but no one (ideally) should know Swansea better than him, so he might suprise us and them :)
ReplyDeleteI find it odd that Coady never seems to get a run out. That said, I haven't seen very much of the reserves at all this season. I've just waited for them to be promoted to the first team.
ReplyDeleteAs for Hendo at right-back, I think it could a good position for him- he puts in a good cross when he has time and he has a fabulous engine allied to a willing mentality. Don't know how he'll cope up against Dyer or Routledge (don't know who is playing for Swansea) but having Carra in his ear should help.
The defence looks very shaky- two rookies (Coates hasn't had that many games), Hendo out of position and a senior who can barely look after his own business nowadays but who will be inclined to keep an eye on everyone.
I look forward to seeing Yesil. Downing and Assaidi should benefit from having a more conventional forward there.
Anyone know why Pacheco isn't even in the squad? He surely deserves at least that- his effort is very good and he is by no means a technical slouch.
Robinson is 5ft6.
ReplyDeleteHahaha
ReplyDeleteOk, he may not be so tall, but he's 5ft11. Allen is 5ft7
ReplyDeleteLive streaming anyone?
ReplyDeleteVoronin :)
ReplyDeleteAny team with Joe Cole in it is doomed
ReplyDeleteWe are being schooled in the art of tiki-taka by Swansea ... good game to watch, but how are we going to keep possession and win this game?
ReplyDeleteSell cole ASAP. We need strikers yesil is too weak atm he needs to hit the gym aha.
ReplyDeleteAh, thanks. I didn't want to think about players like him. Now you've spoiled my evening.
ReplyDeleteAnd he also looks rather slim. I wouldn't play him at centre back.
ReplyDeletepoor one dimentional football yet again. swansea have 2 lines of 4 and hitting us on counter. need a different approach 2nd half
ReplyDeletehttp://www.yycast.com/ch444444444
ReplyDeleteworked..thanks..!!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.thefirstrow.eu/watch/150033/2/watch-liverpool-fc-vs-swansea-city-fc.html
ReplyDeleteJoe cole my lord such a sadness that man is a goner just tragic to watch ,yesil too young and immature wont see anything of him for at least another two years coates again terrible defending sterling stevie and luis must come on now if not we'll never score
ReplyDeletepoooooorrrrrrrrr .....
ReplyDeleteabsolute crap, same defensive problems, rely too much on surez and i am starting t oget an opinion that BR has only changed the fact we now pass the ball alot in our own half and cant defend couter attacking football.
ReplyDeleteWhat a poor poor performance. We give teams too much time to get back and organised. Jagielka was right about us I have to admit - half an hour passing the ball around for nothing!!!
ReplyDeleteStarting to lose faith in our system and I really don't want to
tika taka english way. and for that we need steven gerrard in his best, and someone with number nine on the back. llorente, huntelaar.
ReplyDeleteVery mediocre performance, Seems like Luis Suarez is our plan A, B, C to Z. Our team is toothless and Luis Suarez has to do it all every time. Last season at least defense saved some grace but BR completely destroyed it. Thank you very much BR, seems like Swansea use to play like this before you as well and now after you as well. Fact is, when LFC plays like you want them to play...they never look threatening...only time we look with a little bit of intent is when Stevie plays long ball or Suarez plays solo. I am losing confidence on BR day by day. Hope he freaking improves.
ReplyDeleteAbout youngsters, the reason they are played in first team is due to poor downing, hendo, cole and otherwise thin squad. BR had no other choice and these youngsters so far have looked decent. Thats it. Sterling 1 assist and 1 goal??? Suso/??? Please buy some quality FSG, now I feel we need complete makeover...not only couple of strikers but winger, attacking midfielder, defender...everyone. Pour some real money out you yank...
I know some of them will just want me to shut up and not to cry over single match in baby cup but common? How far we were good vs Reading?? We only played well vs Norwich thanks to Suarez and the same got thrashed by Chelsea next week.. relegating already. And we never won anything else. Toothless today and vs Stoke too. Swansea just taught LFC what tika tika is all about. Hope they realize it and leave it.
Neville I guess? And yeah, we were rubbish today.
ReplyDeleteu were so so right.
ReplyDeleteJaimie where my comment go? Darn, I typed a long one.
ReplyDeletenext 5 games; newcastle - draw if we are lucky, chelsea - loose, wigan - hopefully a win, swansea - prob get beat, spurs - loose. that is my honest assessment based on this years performances! hoping for 5 points.
ReplyDeletebut thats the BR way - we cant criticise the man he's only been with us 5 minutes. Another wasted opportunity we could have had Van Gaal as manager
ReplyDeleteI am hoping that we could finish top 15. At least.
ReplyDeleteGerrard played at right-bank in his early days, why not Hendo?
ReplyDeleteGood point Chirag
ReplyDeleteCole was pretty bad tonight, I don't see any way back for him anymore and I doubt that he will get another chance after tonight's fiasco. If he had scored that header, I think LFC would have gone on to win the match. Downing did miss a great opportunity as well, but also had some decent attempts at goal. Neither impressed ...
ReplyDeleteI mean neither Downing nor Cole impressed tonight, though Cole was by far the worse of the two
ReplyDeleteDeleted by Jainy
ReplyDeletecos gerrard is a good player and incredibly versatile. hendo is a central midfielder.
ReplyDeleteWord filter caught it. It's live now.
ReplyDeleteHaha typical knne-jerkers. The mob is out in full flow. The only reason some of you are so hurt is because u set your expectations WAY TOO high this season. Hoping that BR would be a messiah to take liverpool into champions league spot.
ReplyDeleteU are not being analytical and looking at things clearly cahman its easy.
Teenagers have become first team starters(whats appaling is how BR claims the credit for this emergence fo youngsters when realli the quality and depth or the lack thereof is what forced his hand and luckily for him he struck gold in sterling and suso), we have 1 striker(what a joke even stoke has about 3 or 4), our full backs have zero defensive positional sense and realli cant defend to be brutally honest), midfield lets see..an ageing has been, a hot and cold loanee and an overrated sideways passer who does not contribute goals or assists.
I will say it again for the 3rd time...
Best league finish: 9
Probable finish: 12
No cups.
Last season we did well defensively due to Steve Clark !
ReplyDeletegone backwards from last season should have give kk another season sorry to repeat myself but its afact kk was shit on from a great height
ReplyDeleteHenderson as Right Back! Must be the punishment for mocking Downing as the 'Left Back'...
ReplyDeleteChirag I think you're completely right.
ReplyDeleteWe are so vulnerable its not true. I wouldn't be surprised if someone came to Anfield soon and gave us a proper hiding, like 6-0.
Really was prepared to give BRs a go after being adament Benitez should come back. I don't care if people want to mock because there hasn't been enough time given to him but i think we'll realise in the end we are going nowhere under BR.
Have you noticed the last couple of games we are outpassed by Swansea and Everton. I don't think any BRs supporters could say that is part of the plan; and that's saying that some kind of toothless hording of possession for the sake of possession cuts it.
The last time we had proper defensive stability, we could find a goal when we needed one and teams actually feared us was under Benitez; but deride that observation if you so wish. My assessment of the situation is now that long-term we'll be lucky to be matching Everton every season in some blind hope we'll ever get back to the Champions League - LONG TERM.
Depressed.
If you're depressed then you're not looking at the bigger picture. So we lost a game; big deal! Where's the fire? It was a second string team, and with so many changes was always going to be a little disjointed.
ReplyDeleteYou conveniently forget the great form going into this game: unbeatenbin 5 out of 6; three clean sheets in a row; only 6 points off 4th.
It's only 3 months into Rodgers' reign frig's sake! Is he supposed to undo three years of problems in 3 months?
It's a gradual process; if you take the long view then there's nothing to be depressed about.
Last season, Dalglsih prioritised the Cups and look where that got us: 8th in the league.
If LFC get dumped from both cups early but finish 4th/5th, that will be a giant stride forward
.
4th/5th? Hahahahahahahahha, hahahahahahahha, hahahahahahahha, hahahahahahahha, etc...
ReplyDeleteAbout right, probably 4-5 years to get us back to where Kenny had us, maybe 10 years to get us back to where Rafa had us.
ReplyDeleteJaimie, I do want to give him time but at the same time there are worrying signs there for me.
ReplyDeleteDefensively, we don't seem to have it together for me. I think this is a symptom of the tiki taka thing he is trying to do. I am not just basing the assessment on last night - where we had Carra and Coates; I believe it stems from getting so myopic to dominate possession to the point where we suddenly remember if it gets knicked off us there are huge gaps which have developed behind.
True, you could say that we won't get a system like that overnight, but my opinion is its an incredibly hard style to get, requiring players of great technique and intelligence; which i'm not convinced we possess or are likely to be able to acquire.
Tiki taka yeah or neh:
Suso: maybe, with time.
Gerrard: for all his abilities, for me, doesn't fit.
Shelvey: not convinced he can do it.
Allen: think he can do the simple parts of it, but not convinced he can do the incisive things.
Sterling: would be an ill fit, like Gerrard.
Lucas: not for me.
Assaidi: bad fit again.
Sahin (even given he is a loan): not especially convinced.
Henderson: don't make me laugh.
Downing: times two.
If BRs can pull it off he deserves to stand alongside Shankly that's all i'll say.
Right now i'm frustrated. I was behind Dalglish when you had given up hope.
I hope you are right and i'm being hot-headed.
So what are the positives and negatives so far;
ReplyDeletePOSITIVES;
-youth been given a chance
- exciting playing style if it all clicks at the same time
Negatives;
-Lack of experience within the squad
-Lack of strikers and options
-Defense lacks organisation and midfield failing to break down play early and be a barrier for defence.
-Tika taka seems to only work against teams who will attack you and want to beat you e.g. top 4 sides. Against the rest, they form 2 colums of 4 across the defence and due to our lack of quick penetrating play allows the oposition to do this as they have time to get back and then subsequently couter attack us using incisive play.
- Opposition managers already know what system will be played, the same system every week as it is the second year in its use, mannagers can easily counter it with tactics.
- one dimentinal and a lack of height when other options are needed.
- Opened the door to the media to invade our dressing room, so the cat is out of the bag with refrecne to the way we train, conduct interviews, team talks and how we operate.
In conclusion; BR like di matteo and steve clark where signed to do better than the previous manager. two out of these 3 men are achieving it, annd only one is talking about more time. I have used these clubs as they are at either end of the spectrum in terms of finances, support and the managers are all young progressive type. Why is it then that steve clarke and di matteo can achieve what they where brought into the club to do in a short space of time and BR can't. BR appointemnt is starting to smell like when everton appointed the marvellous mike walker who achieved unpresedented heights with norwich only to almost take everton down. BR in my opinion should be allowed to finish the whole year, however if in a year our EPL place has got worse and we have had poor cup runs, then he should be replaced as he has not got us better than the previous manager. If he manages to come 6th and above, then naturally he should be given another year as he has shown improvement.
Yeah and Yesil is a great player...Liverpool are out of this competition as I had predicted. I've been following liverpool since the eighties. Kenny Dalglish got sacked after winning the league cup n getting to the final of the fa cup...Brendan Rodgers will struggle to get anywhere close to that. Liverpool are a laughing stock this year..They have one proper centre forward in Suarez. Yesil wouldn't make utd's fifth team
ReplyDeleteWell after 2 weeks away working away I have come back to do a posting or two.
ReplyDeleteLast night a shambles of a performance, Rodgers again making excuses, a wafer thin squad, lack of organization and as Jagielka says it takes 20 minutes to mount an attack due to the back and side passes that are done allowing the other team to get 2 banks of 4 behind the ball as my brother Phil said.
Tiki taka only works if you have got class players to perform it, in the past Gerrard carried the team, now that he has nearly run out of gas it is Suarez, what does Joe Allen do that other players dont that is constructive, all he does is back pass or side pass where are the 30 yard balls to slice a defence in half.
Yes Mike Walker I remember him and the comeback Everton made to beat Wimbledon in the last game of the season to stay up, was he not sacked the following season after no wins in the first 12 games.
You need top class players or at least effective players for his system to work. Should come good in the next couple of seasons once the youngsters have matured. Sterling, Suso and Allen............... Messi, Iniesta and Xavi???
ReplyDelete3 clean sheets in a row ?? Didn't Everton score 2 ???
ReplyDeleteKrompkamp Josemi Dossena itanje pennant
ReplyDeletewdwwd, minimum.
ReplyDeleteKenny Dalglish probably got sacked because he has spent about 100m on players who were/are not fit to wear the shirt. Or maybe because he put too much emphasis on a competition some call the Mickey Mouse Cup instead of the League.
ReplyDeleteLiverpool have been a laughing stock for quite some time now. It actually dates back to the later stages of Benitez' reign.
Only one proper centre forward. No different to when we had Torres. Our other centre forward was, hold your breath, David N'Gog.
The list seems to be endless. And such illustrious names on it. Yet people claim that our current squad is the worst in 20 years. How short memories sometimes are. The memory of a goldfish for instance is said to be three seconds. Some goldfish seem to support us and post on here, too.
ReplyDelete
