Liverpool's interest in Malaga midfielder Francisco Román Alarcón Suárez (aka Isco) seems to be growing after the club sent scouts to watch the player in the Champions League last week.
Liverpool sent senior scout Barry Hunter to watch the exciting Spanish starlet in his Champions League debut against Zenit St. Petersburg, a game in which the 20-year old scored two impressive goals.
Isco shas four years left on his contract, and financial problems at Malaga mean that the club may have no choice but forego his £16million buyout to facilitate a potential January deal.
Over the weekend, Malaga boss Manuel Pellegrini - who was once linked with a move to Anfield - was was asked about interest from Liverpool and Manchester United, and although he dodged the question, he did admit:
"He is a player who has a great future. Nobody knows what his limit is"

No news about Liverpool - ManU game ?
ReplyDeleteYes, I will be posting lots of stuff about that game later today/tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteSign him up great player !!!!
ReplyDeleteWe ain't got the cash!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to this.
ReplyDeleteIsco is a great player. Just the attacking flair we need. We need to get him before the likes of Real and Barca snatch him up. However... We aint doing to well at the moment and Malaga are in the CL so not sure if he would want to come.
ReplyDeleteI`m hoping there will be a good write up on how BAD the Man Utd fans were throughout the game, and after, and also the 3 Liverpool fans. As I`m getting sick of all the lies and false rubbish reporting saying the fans were so good. They weren`t. If you were there you would know this.
ReplyDeleteIn Regards to the player. Nope, if we had enough cash to sign two then maybe, but right now everyone ion the world other than Kenny, Brendan or Rafa (all failed to sign strikers when needed) knows we need a striker.
That`s where the money should go. Every penny on the best we can get. Move LS out right where he plays best.
I think the obvious priority is a striker. More players cant be bad though.
ReplyDeleteJamie - any chance of doing a survey about the ref's decisions. We fans can get a bit too emotional about it and probably think the ref got every decision wrong. I'd love to see a survey to see people's opinions on the main talking points:
ReplyDeleteEvans vs Shelvey Sending Off
(a) Red card Shelvey
(b) Red card Shelvey & Evans
(c) Yellow card Shelvey & Evans
(d) Yellow card Shelvey
Evans vs Agger Peno Incident
(a) Peno & Red Card Evans
(b) Peno & Yellow Card Evans
(c) No Peno
Valencia vs Johnson Peno Incident
(a) Peno & Red Card Johnson
(b) Peno & Yellow Card Johnson
(c) No Peno
Suarez vs Evans Peno Incident
(a) Peno & Red Card Evans
(b) Peno & Yellow Card Evans
(c) No Peno
For what it's worth, my opinion is as follows:
ReplyDeleteEvans vs Shelvey Sending Off
(d) Yellow card Shelvey
Evans vs Agger Peno Incident
(c) No Peno
Valencia vs Johnson Peno Incident
(c) No Peno
Suarez vs Evans Peno Incident

I think Liverpool need a striker not another midfielder.if we had a proper striker we would have won the game in the first half.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think of the fact no Americans attended, it was a big talking point in the pub after why they could not be bothered to attend such a game as this.
ReplyDeleteWell said Jaimie its a pity a lot more don`t sleep
ReplyDeleteon it before posting .
The way Shelvey tackles its amazing he is
ReplyDeletenot red carded more often .
Henderson really annoys me , he seems more interested
ReplyDeletein how he looks more than how he plays , he should be
issued with a hand bag & a face mirror .
Seen him in a few games. Classy player. Yet another classy Spanish attacking midfielder. Wouldn't be surprised if he didn't want to leave, not just because of CL but also that he is a Malaga boy. I'd love to see him or Herrera of Bilbao at the club or both :)....I know, dream on.
ReplyDeleteWe do need a striker but the system that Rodgers uses, its not a simple case of lets get a finisher, it has to be a striker that can really contribute to the attacking phase as well as finish. Not many of those about that are realistic for us.
I think the only major error was the red card.
ReplyDeleteOther than that IMO the decisions were regular common match mistakes.
I'm not sure if Valencia theatrically fell or not, and I think Suarez deserved a penalty, but as long as he keeps on falling that often during the match he's not gonna get any calls for him(though it surprisingly worked for Kagawa throughout the match). Anyway, I don't think either of the calls were extraordinary.
The only real surprise was the red card, which should've been either a yellow to shelvey and evans for dangerous play, or yellow to shelvey alone. I could accept a double red card for dangerous play as well, but the one red card had no justification by the rules.
For God fucking sakes can we stop crying over spilled milk already. I saw the damn tackle. Shelvy went in with his studs out and that is almost always a straight red anywhere except the Serie A. I love the lad and love his energy but he was unlucky that's all. Evans himself is no better in that department. He is known for his strong reckless tackles . He is United's equivalent of Real Madrid's Portuguese hard tackling defender Pepe.
ReplyDeleteI was impressed by the Liverpool performance overall and I think they are a lot of positives to be taking from the game. Love also the fact that some youngsters from the reserve team are getting some chances to play in the first team.
I don't know too much about Fransico Romain Alarcon Suarez so I can't say that if he will be a success at Liverpool or not. All i can say that he seems to be playing with a lot of confidence from what I could see from Malaga's game against Zenith. I especially love his rocket to the top pocket. He if he is comfortable taking a shot in front of goal then he we should consider going for him.
ReplyDeleteDempsey was expected to come into our side and push things on the offensive side of things for Liverpool. After watching the game yesterday against Man U, it is obvious our guys are not taking enough shots in front of goal (something later admitted by Brendan Rodgers himself. Checkout article on website "Soccer365.com" article titled "Rodgers rues lack of shooting" dated Monday Sept 24th 2012.) Either Man U really closed us down or we just are not getting into a lot of favorable shooting positions. Some body confident in front of goal is definatley needed at Liverpool and Fransico Romian Alarcon Suarez might just be the one.
Made up transfer rubbish.
ReplyDeleteNo quotes from anyone that LFC are interested, or that they sent scouts to watch, or that Malaga want to sell.
