'Give him a chance!' - Fowler urges BR to play 'fantastic' LFC starlet. Agree?

With only two first-team strikers at Anfield right now, the pressure is on for Brendan Rodgers to come up with viable, cost-effective solution. There are quite a few free agents currently available, but in my view, a move for any of these has-beens would be an embarrassment to LFC, and would smack of serious desperation. Perhaps the solution is right under our noses? Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler seems to think so, and he's called on Rodgers to give youth a chance.

In an interview yesterday, Fowler - who broke into the Liverpool first team at the age of 17 - questioned the decision to loan out Andy Carroll without having a definite replacement, but dismissed suggestions that the Reds were in 'crisis', and called for Adam Morgan to be given a chance. He said:

"Adam Morgan is a fantastic little player. He's there or threabouts now, and he's getting into the squad regularly.

"Rodgers is certainly doing the right thing bringing in the young players, and he has the bottle to play them.

"We haven't signed another striker so he [Morgan] has got to be given a chance".

I totally agree with Fowler here; just forget about signing free agents and play Morgan, Samed Yesil, Michael Ngoo, Suso and Jaoa Teixeira. This is a transitional season anyway, so what's the difference?

Morgan played against Hearts, but it was disappointing to see him shunted out of position just to accommodate Luis Suarez in the middle. It's frustrating - Morgan is a striker, and is most effective playing through the middle, whereas Suarez is clearly NOT a striker (!), and he's most effective coming in off the flanks.

It was the same against Arsenal at the weekend: Fabio Borini played on the right of the front three, which is a total waste as he is a central striker. How much longer will Suarez be allowed to hog the central striker role?

Of course, it's not Suarez's fault; Rodgers picks the team and chooses the formation, so the bucks stops with him.

Fowler insists that Rodgers has 'bottle' for playing young players; I agree to an extent, but if he has real cojones, he'll starting playing the likes of Borini and Morgan through the middle, and keep Suarez and Gerrard in the two wide positions off the frontman.

  1. I agree if it is going to be a transitional season and everyone understands that this year is the start then i would agree and like to see all the youngsters get a go. At least then next year we will know who is up for it and who nneds to leave.

  2. spot on, morgan and borini goal scoring abilities being compromised. Sometimes feel accomodating Suarez in this way affects the balance of the team. Suarez not a central striker and though not quite a winger would probably be best utilised in a wide position of the three. Would love to see suso being given a few opportunities, he looks a special talent.

  3. Signing these experienced has beens is not a solution. Get the youngsters on the park. They will play with fire and passion, just to prove their worth. Ultimately BR does not have much options any ways.

  4. Yes, play Borini or Morgan centrally and, as we seem to rather play a 4-5-1 than a 4-3-3, drop out-of-form Gerrard and put Suarez behind the centre forward.

  5. I agree Jaimie!!!, play Yesil and Morgan in a rotation to give them a real chance. This is exactly what we been wanting for years, so let's do it. These lads are dsperate to play for a club they respect hugely, not for money but for the love of football. Suso, Ngoo, Teixeira, Ibe etc are also desperate to play, get them in for the odd game as the fans will love this.

  6. I'd give my right bollock for him to introduce Suso to first team PL action.

  7. I agree pachecco suso morgan coady they can make a difference from the bench & change a game but the bench against arsenal was too weak & had no attacking options. If the owners dont back BR then i wouldnt be suprised if he walked.!!!

  10. The formation against Arsenal was right except for three changes required. Stevie G, Johnson and Enrique are the players to be dropped. All three tend to hold on to the ball too long or given it away the most in the team. Stevie has cost the team the most as his mistakes have resulted in goals in all three games played in the PL. Johnson was poor against Arse as both the goals were a result of his bad positioning and failure to keep up with the winger. Enrique over dribbles and runs into defenders. Many of the pass and move moments end with these three players giving the ball away. Bench all three and the team will perform better. Sahin should play the role that Stevie is occupying at the moment and Jonjo should play instead of Stevie. Bring in the two young defenders Fanagan and Robinson. These two would not dwell on the ball long and will run all day. Pass and move will be suited to players who keep it simple unlike Johnson and Enrique. Next play Asaidi on the right and Sterling on the left. Steve G hasn't looked the same since he came back from injuries last season. The team is carrying him now and not the other way. Stevie's corners and free kick have been poor for many years. It's about time he is relieved of these duties. Perhaps Sahin is the man for the job from now. Do the right think Branden remove the three players and the wins will come.

  11. so jaimie after 3 games your saying the seasons over but you support fsg the mind boggles and after this transition season what players will want to come to lfc when we cannot even offer the europa league all for giving the youngsters ago but you cannot just bring them in on mass morgans had a few games this season and did not impress saying that not many have ps what do you think of john henrys open letter to the red soxs they have the second highest wage bill and in mr henrys own words baseball is a sport that he takes seriuosly 365days a year well if he took lfc seriously 1 day a year namely transfer deadline day we would not be in this mess 100% disolutioned with fsg

  12. 100%. We are where we are. It may be a rumour, but if we are trying to get a 38-year-old Del Piero, probably having to pay him £150,000 a week, that is madness. Blood the youngsters, ensure they have the freedom to fail and let it happen. It is not impossible that Yesil or Morgan could blossom beyond anyone's expectations. It was not the original plan, but there is nothing wrong in trying to turn a 'crisis' into an opportunity – an opportunity for the long-term development of the club.

  13. I don'[t where you got that interpretation but that's not what I said at all. The season is not over at all; I'm just advocating playing youngsters instead bringing in yet more dead-wood.

  14. Wasnt Pacheco at Norwich and not much cop there.
I have seen the squad for the Europa League, frightening to think that has to compete until January in 3 competititons and the 3rd round of the FA Cup as that game will come before any new signings.
Long trips into Eastern Europe returning on Friday and then playing a highly competitive EPL game on Sunday.
Its all well and good saying drop him and drop him but who do you bring in. You dont win anything with kids, you introduce them one at a time not a whole bunch at once. Lucas is out 3 months and soon someone else will get injured and be out, frightening, how can people talk about top 4 with this team. Its going to be mid table at the best and even that is going to be tough.

  15. So much has been said about having only two recognised strikers - and in the past about youth not having the chance to break through. Given that BR is playing 4-3-3, where two of the front three are 'forwards' rather than 'strikers', and given the emergence of Morgan (and to an extent Ngoo) and the purchase of Yesil - I do not see the absence of AC as being crucial unless both Suarez and Borini are injured or suspended simultaneously.

    IMO a front three of:

Suarez (right) Borini (centre) Cole/Sterling (Left) with Gerrard in an advanced midfield role

This would be OK, with Downing as cover on the right and Morgan/Ngoo/Yesil being cover for Borini - or brought on for the final 15 mins to gain experience. If Borini is injured, I would switch Suarez back to the centre and play Gerrard on the right.

  18. Spot on Robin and im sure 90% of fans feel the same, let's take the season on the chin to bring through a crop of quality youngsters. Do we want has-beens sipping coffee for a year who are too old to put in a shift, I certainly don't!!!!

  19. I agree with Jamie Kanwar. Play Morgan/Borini as central striker with Suarez and Gerard coming from the wings. If I may add, play Sterling behind the central striker. We will see good results from this I am sure.

  20. FINALLY YOU GOT AN ARTICLE RIGHT!
    1. Agree that Suarez should play on the left flank.
    2. Agree that now is the time to "blood in" the youngsters, and
    3. (which I have been saying for these past 2 seasons), please play Gerrard on the right flank! He was by far more effective there, and got by far more goals and assists in Rafa's days.

  21. BR needs to understand that if he is brave, the fans will love him. We will back him 100% if he gives the youngsters a chance, he will get huge support..................It's a no-brainer!!!!

  22. Forgive me for thinking that this was the PLAN all along.....said it before and i'll say it again, we are being sold a load of BS...lied to...having our hopes raised...and then told oh we might as well blood the youth....

FSG/BR would not come out and tell us this directly because they clearly know that we wouldn't have been happy with the way the trasnfer window went, but now they can say with the help of their supporters....and PR outlets that we are where we are so what about we try the youth...?

In fact they don't even have to do that, they have just set up a series of debates/discussions which by their very NATURE lead us into the next and most obvious solution to the "problem", SO Fowler using his common sense will suggest we use Morgan....after Owen sign for Stoke and the clock keeps ticking away and no one looks to be coming into the Club...

Nothing against Morgan, clearly my post is not dealing with that issue per se, just highlighting how we have come to where we are in our thinking.....in that respect Fowler and us have been played.

  28. I see Henry has now written an open letter to the Boston Red Sox fans after losing 8 out of the last 11 games boasting they have the second highest payroll in baseball and they remain committed in total contrast to the letter he sent to Liverpool fans.

Interesting Article in a Boston paper,
Tom Werner saw the Sox lose three games at Angel Stadium last week, part of a season that veered into a ditch right away and never recovered. This will be the third consecutive year the team has missed the playoffs.

Principal owner John Henry and Werner have spent $507 million in payroll in those three years, with little to show for it beyond increasingly pointed criticism from fans and media. Once a model franchise, the Red Sox faced up to their demise by trading star players Josh Beckett, Carl Crawford, and Adrian Gonzalez to the Dodgers Aug. 25. The approximately $264 million in payroll savings will allow the team to start over after years of fruitless, if not careless, spending.

SPEAKS VOLUMES FOR OUR AMERICAN OWNERS, I HAVE NO FAITH IN THEM AT ALL

  29. I don't think anyone needs to urge Rogers to give youngsters chance. He has no other options. So we will see a lot of them getting their chances this season.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Not many managers have the advantage Rodgers does right now. He wont get blamed for results by either fans nor owners. Lets try out these youngsters in the next 5 months and see who can cut it. It maybe that we have a gem like Fowler or Owen and no need to buy a striker in January.

    ReplyDelete
  31. How does it 'speak volumes' about them? Have you even considered what you're saying?

    * FSG have clearly spent sh$tloads of money on the Red Sox. $507m in payroll is proof of that.

    * Once that money has been spent, it is down to the management and coaching staff to make it happen on the field, is it not?

    * How is failure on the pitch after spending all that money FSG's fault? It's the same situation at LFC: Dalglish was given lots of money to spend but the coaching side of things was poor, which left LFC in 8th place. Is that FSG's fault too?

After two years of missing the play-offs, why would the Red Sox keep Becket, Crawford and Gonzalez? What impact did those three make? Nothing. Selling them is the right idea: if a player is consistently ineffective then GET RID.

  32. I believe ngoo is nowhere near good enough for first team and morgan is good but I dont believe hes liverpool class in terms of if you want to finish top 4 I think hes on the same level mellor, but I would still give a chance for this season as hes the best out of the youngsters in terms of a pure striker and I dont know too much of samid so cant give a judgement on him.

  33. Funnily enough i have not read ANY Media outlets re the Club or the so called demonising of FSG....I have ONLY been follwing this site...because TIA forum went down on the eve of deadline day (for some reason or other..) and is still down which is where i pick up certain info etc

Im just not happy with whats been going....and the way in which it SEEMS to be happening...i don't believe as i've said already that we have made certain cock ups etc and now find ourselves in this position where we are short of strikers after having loaned Carroll out etc

What i do believe is that it was made to look like that....in order to implement a plan which would have been shunned at the time as being unambitious etc...

I think there are many inconsistencies with what FSG have said and what they have done since taking over, i don't however consider them to be H & G revisited, i do see them as trying to adapt to the situation they find themselves in re our demise etc.

Naturally the press will get on the Clubs back, there's nothing new in that is there.....its been happening for years....surely they would have known that when they made the decision to back the loaning of Andy Carroll without replacing him...?

    Come on....

  35. JK wrote that this season would be yet another transitional period so why not play the youth or something to that effect....we all know what transitional period really means...it means lower your expectations...others might say it means the season is a write off so whats the harm in playing the youth...the general feeling or interpretation is that we are once again re building so we should accept that and go with the youth.

Some people will be happy with that and see it as the "solution" and others will be pissed off....the press will lap it up because it makes for good reading, all the Club in crisis stuff is just bollocks IMO, we are not in crisis but we have NOT invested in area's where we should have invested....for that FSG/BR will rightly IMO get criticised and its now up to our youth to spare their blushes...

  37. Good call Jamie. There has been a terrible over reaction since deadline day in what was always going to be a transitional season. I for one was glad we didn't stump up £9m for Dempsey, a 29 year old in the final year of his contract. Finally, we play hard ball with a team rather than just hand over the cash and we still can't win in the media. We were always going to have to make a stand at some point so we stop getting quoted silly prices for players. There may be intangible benefits stemming from that decision not to overspend in the coming transfer windows.

Let's not forget these owners cleared the club debt and stumped up £100m for transfers under Dalglish and Comolli.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Couldn`t agree more. FSG are getting a bashing for no reason at all imo. Money wise there doing what was needed about 10 years ago for us.

BR was given cash, which he spent. Wages have been reduced which is also a good thing.

Plus its only 3 games in against two of the top teams. People seem to be reacting way to quick. If we had draw with Man city, and lost to arsenal at a different time of the season no one would have said anything.

I think it will be good too, Morgan getting some game etc

My only gripe is not playing Morgan or Borini as the striker, LS record shows hes better our right just off the striker, so why not do that. He has all the tricks needed to free space, and with him on the right and Sterling on the left, that`s one heck of a force.

Morgan as the striker i fully believe will get goals, just might take him a while to lose the nerves

    ReplyDelete
  39. The only reason the club 'hasn't invested in areas we should've invested' is because Dalglish pi$$ed over 100m against the wall! Those areas could've been addressed if that cash was spent properly. Now, FSG are being prudent owners and not making the same mistake twice. That is GOOD ownership! If they were negligent, they would just blindly hand Rodgers another 100m. What if he wasted that too, and as a result, LFC were saddled with a high wage bill and potential debts to pay off?

Rodgers has had money to spend though, but much less, which is fine. If his buys pay off then FSG will, I'm sure, have the confidence to give him more money in the future.

Last season was a transitional period too, and if the money had been spent PROPERLY, then this season would be about progression, not transiion. However, things went tits-up last season, which set the club back a few steps, which is why we're in another transitional season.

  40. morgan, suso, pacheco, yesil and even sinclair (despite the fact he is even younger) would all make decent additions to the bench we saw against arsenal. having no attacking options was ridiculous and all of these players have impressed before now. morgan, yesil, sinclair and even ngoo could offer something with their goalscoring exploits at youth level and suso and pacheco are exiting talents, especially suso who i dont understand why he hasnt made his debut yet. anyway we really dont need a shrot term fix by signing any over the hill players. for me only pongolle and lazovic are good enough to help the squad and realistic in terms of wage structure.

  43. Half of that 100million that Dalglish "pissed up the wall" was from the sale of Torres....and personally i don't think he did piss it up the wall, the owners sanctioned it didn't they...? Of course they were hoping for huge stars in the making but they should have known BEFORE they came into football (esp with their exp with the Redsox) that money can't always buy you success.....

And we do still have those assets who you describe as piss up the wall.....some of which might well turn out to become very decent players in the future....

As has been mentioned all managers make mistakes...Fergie Wenger half of the managers that went to Chelsea recently....unfortunately there really are no gurantees of success it either happens or it doesn't.

Who's to say that it will happen with Rodgers...??? So far we have been left short up front and he's only just come in....

Clearly we ALL have our differing views of how things have panned out over the last few years at the Club and why we are where we are, you have yours....and it involves blaming Kenny and his piss up the wall buy's....and i have mine which don't.

  47. Who advises FSG in baseball to do these deals as they must have more knowledge of the game than football. Who advised them to hire Bobby Valentine as manager he was an analyst with ESPN and managed in Japan. I hear he is not a very good manager, (even had the audacity to turn up at 4:15 for a 7:15 start when managers are suppose to turn up 5 hours before the start)
Who's advice to they take when KD signed all the players he did. Comoli?
Why did they unsettle Clint Dempsey by declaring he had joined LFC and in the end Fulham reported the club and didnt sell him to LFC.
read this article if you get a chance http://sports.yahoo.com/news/blockbuster-deal-for-dodgers--red-sox-will-be-defined-by-dollars-and-sense.html
It doesnt make sense to me to sell or in the case of baseball trade your best players to reduce your payroll and then say it is in the long term interests of the club. If Barcelona sold Messi, Fabregas and Iniesta and replaced them with Spearing, Henderson, Adam and Downing to save $500m they would be in the Spanish Division 2 in a flash
There is no presence from the owners in the UK. If an American company owned a British company surely they would but in a CEO based here in the UK to oversee the running of the club and a man who had a knowledge of the game. Certainly not a weakling like Ian Ayres who allegedly got his secretary to tell Steve Clarke he was fired.
I have little faith in Americans in general from business experiences I have had with them and so far little has convinced me FSG are the right people for Liverpool even though they are better than the cowboys that run them before

  49. Jamie, you im sure you understand what is and has been going on at the Club over the last few seasons...its not exactly black and white is it...

I was as you know quite happy with the arrival of BR seeing as Kenny's tenure was "unworkable".. enough said....

But i do sense a lot of smoke an mirrors re this transfer window esp deadline day....

I do feel somewhat as if we have been led down the proverbial garden path to a certain degree....

The anger/frustration expressed by many fans...not just me...is because we might all feel the same in that regard. there was hope that Carroll would be kept on at the Club....there are fans who don't like Kenny's name and reputation being dragged through the dirt by way of an explanation as to why we are where we are....

It WILL anger some of the fanbase, personally (as you know already..) i am frustrated/angered by the fact that certain players who i've had to endure watching at the Club under perform....those players who angered me most still have no competition for their places whilst others like Gerrard are apparently not good enough to play in Rodgers system...

You just can't try put shit out there like that and not expect acertain type of reaction to follow...whether it is FSG or BR or just YOU...i know not but it IS happening, and thats very much a REALITY...

    ReplyDelete
  50. I'm not sure the majority of fans had 'hope' that Carroll would be kept at the club.

I agree with your points about KD's reputation and fanbase anger, but he created that situation himself with his poor transfer buys, handling of the Suarez-Evra situation, and overall rudeness to the press.

I totally agree with you re the likes of Reina and Suarez, and if it was down to me, I would sell them to the highest bidder.

Nothing is ever black and white in football, but even if there was an element of 'smoke and mirrors' in the last transfer window (and I'm not admitting there was), who cares? The club doesn't have to spell out everything in fine detail to the fans, and sometimes it's better that way.

There was no explicit promise to sign Dempsey, or any other goalscorer. The intention was there, but it has to fit with FSG's new approach to the club's finances, and with Dempsey, there was clearly a conflict there.

    ReplyDelete
  51. There is absolutely no pressure on Werner as long as we keep making money, especially since he's a partner in NESV/FSG. I read today that Henry has been boasting about the Red Sox being the second highest spenders in their sport. They have just lost seven games on the trot and their manager is under no pressure other than from their fans.
The more I read, the more I think Kenny's sacking was to get him off the wages and away from the club. I believe he got the sack for speaking up, nothing to do with how the season panned out. Making him manager in the first place put him in a position whereby it would be more 'palatable' when they elbowed him.
BR is probably being 'given time' because he's being paid a (relative) pittance? I s'pose we'll have a better idea on that next May, though I could see him taking a better offer before Christmas, the way it's going.
I like Brendan Rogers. I think he is the right man for the job, but I can't help thinking he's in the right place at the wrong time. I'm not Benitez's biggest fan, but at least had he been there, we'd have KNOWN what was going on, or his version of it.
Hicks and Gillet were in place for just over three and a half years and spent lots of dough doing nothing about the new stadium. FSG have been in place two years and have made a lot of noise about doing nothing about a new stadium and blaming everyone else and his dog for the state of the finances.
Are we to believe that they didn't do their homework before they took over???
The guy who ended up buying City was interested in us before he bought City, but he wasn't prepared to pay the debt off. Now we don't have the debt, a sleeping giant... sounds pretty tempting if you're a bored Sheikh with more money than you can spend? If I was in Henry's shoes, I'd be tapping up that Arab that's after Man U asap, BEFORE we get relegated and lose value. £300M? FSG get their money back. Sheikh gets a footie club for a third of what Man U would cost
Football has become secondary to making money at LFC.

Re the owners and certain info etc being witheld and the smoke and mirrors, in some respects i agree with you but only IF we are 100% sure of the right diagnosis otherwise we will surgically remove the wrong organ...so to speak...and then what..?

  56. I thought last year was meant to be a transitional season...but 2 cup finals and some youngsters being bloodied resulted in sacking. Without the 'distraction' of the cup runs we would have ended the season at least a couple of places higher without question, so why is it acceptle that the same squad (minus those the new manager thinks are duds, so no loss and added to by those brought in because they should be better) does no better the following year? Suso, Morgan et all smply were not ready last year.

  57. Funny how two months ago everyone was trembling at the thought of Suarez leaving. Now, everyone is bashing him when in reality, he is the only one making any kind of effort and actually scoring some goals. Bunch on ungrateful fools!

  58. Give Ngoo a shot, he deserves his chance ahead of Moragn!!

  59. here here! Unbelievable what they will moan about. Suarez is a fantastic player...not his fault there is no-one else who can feed off that. But then the same people on here who denigrated Carroll now moan he was let go. Last year supposedly we were a 10 man team with him so why does it matter this year???

  60. With all that pace and trickery? Surely his game is best suited to the flanks!!???

  61. SUSO IS A MUST!!!!!!

  62. All Suarez's best work comes from the right so I think we should play him out there instead.

  63. The manager picks the team and the glaring problem is the gap between the midfield and the strikers. Gerrard as the most experienced player in the Liverpool team has been given the role to plug that gap and be the niche between the midfield and strikers. Unfortunately the managers faith in Gerrard is misguided as Gerrard lacks discipline and has been below average for a few seasons now. Taking Gerrard out the midfield and playing him up front will lead to greater cohesion in the team and less mistakes in the middle of the pitch. So instead of worrying about what strikers we don't have, just play Gerrard as a striker and give Shelvey/Henderson a regular start in the midfield with Allen & Sahin.

  64. Yes I agree, I am baffled why Suarez is playing the pivotal front strker role, it clearly does not suit him. I do feel Rodgers as the know how to realize this. I hope anyhow. Also Gerard in that front 3, and Shelvey is worthy of starting alongside Allen and Sahin.

  67. Spot on Jamie, I don't think that too often! ;) Looking forward to seeing the kids play this season

  68. I once heard an experienced ex-player suggesting "you won't win anything with kids", and Arsenal have gone on to show us this is very true. We have to use youngsters as a necessity, but youth and vibrancy is no alternative for experience and guile

  69. It's important to look back at the games so far and recognise where things can go wrong. Misplaced passes and losing possession can so easily lead to opposition goals. Now I'm all for young players needing to learn their trade and they will always have poor games but the problem with playing young talent too often is that they make too many mistakes. Raheem Sterling has done exceptionally well in his time so far but let's be clear, the kid loses possession. For every clever run he makes there is another run where he misplaces a pass or gets muscled off the ball. Of course so far this season we see Gerrard and Suarez do the same thing but it's not for the same reasons and quite simply that doesn't really make it better. We need to be forming a team game where we don't needlessly give the ball away and despite what Suarez and Gerrard continue to show us, you would have to suggest that a younger player with less experience and less ability to deal with physical contact is going to be more likely to give up the ball. I fully expect that as the team progresses that Gerrard and Suarez will be reigned in and made to play a more careful game and they will subsequently be better able to keep the ball. They can do that because they are strong, experienced players. They can correct their mistakes and get better. I'm not convinced we can say the same thing about Morgan and Sterling. They obviously have talent but there is no question they will make mistakes and their lack of experience WILL mean more loss of possession which in turns means more defensive work and more chances to concede goals.

This is why I always say there is more to an attacking player than scoring goals. Rodgers asks a tremendous amount of his front three, firstly in terms of pressing and then also in terms of keeping the ball once we have it. I feel quite confident that Borini, Suarez, Downing and Gerrard can do what is required, even if they seem to currently be still learning how. I don't have that same confidence in Morgan and Sterling and I'd guess that Rodgers feels the same way. It might annoy the fans who want to see our manager show some guts and play an exciting game but I am absolutely convinced that careful football is going to win out in the end. If these young players are not able to play that kind of game then they won't get the chances.

  70. You may not win anything with kids, but I can assure you that if you keep those kids together, strengthen them and get them to play the same style continually, by the time they are all around the 24-26 mark you will have one hell of a strong team. That has been Arseneal's biggest downfall. They have kids, they are talented, but once they are worth a few bucks the ship them off & develop another youngster. Hence why they are always nearly there but never a genuine threat.

  71. Different scenario this year with Rogers in place who is seen as a long term appointment by FSG and not a stop gap which they always envisaged Kenny would be.

  72. Yes and Mr Hansen was made to eat his words that year as Man Utd who he was referring to went on to the title. Poor choice of quote when trying to argue that kids are not the answer.
