Liverpool football club's interest in Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente is an open secret, with the Spanish striker confirming last year that representatives from Anfield 'came to Bilbao' to negotiate a possible transfer. Llorente recently insisted that he was 'very focused' at Bilbao, but his latest comments seem to suggest that he has his eyes firmly fixed on a move to the Premier League at some stage.
In an interview for the February edition of Esquire Magazine, Llorente, who is currently valued at around £20m, spoke about the possibility of moving to the Premier League:
"I’ve been told many times that I would do well in the Premier League. At times, I talk about this with Fernando Torres or Xabi Alonso, who have experience there.
"They tell me about football in England, the respect that there is for the players and the traditions that surround everything.
"Maybe I’ll end up there in a few years as I feel like I identify with the Premier league"
I'm sure Alonso and Torres have put in a good word for Liverpool FC, which means that the club could be in pole position for Llorente's signature if and when he decides to move to England.

no thx. we dont need this cunt
ReplyDeleteWe would be in pole postion because a couple of ex Liverpool players may have put in a good word? Find that extremley hard to believe.
ReplyDeleteDont you think Torres would ask one of his campatriots to move his club? Joe Cole has told Hazard about Liverpool yet he has only recently said he would move to FIVE PL clubs yet Liverpol wanst on that list. Unfortunatley most players would rather go to Arsenal or even Spurs before than us at the moment.
CL qualification is a must!! Hopefully 3 points tommorow will aid our cause!
He scores the goals our 35m man used to score for Newcastle.
ReplyDeleteGoodness ... he scores 90% of his goals from headers??
ReplyDeleteYou are right, that could put LFC in front of other suiters. Alternatively the fact that both players mentioned left Liverpool, feeling let down by the club, promises made and all that; could also mean that he´s been warned to steer clear of LFC.
ReplyDeleteCarroll had half a season of regular first team football at Newcastle in the top flight and he is 23 now. Yet he cost £35m. Astonishing, absolutely astonishing.
ReplyDeleteNot as astonishing as fans who continually bring up his price tag.
ReplyDeleteI'd say that he has definitely been told not to bother signing for us. Can't see why any of our ex players in Spain, or Torres at Chelsea, would recommend us. Maybe Alonso, definitely not Torres, after the way we turned on him, Arbeloa or Mascherano.
ReplyDeletehe wont be coming we bought carol
ReplyDeleteWhich is a goo thing for us because we have owning an Henderson putting it on a plate for Carroll at the moment. Lets get that bonfire started now, count out £20 million and throw it straight on.
ReplyDeleteEach to their own.
ReplyDeleteI would say not as astonishing as some fans who refused to think badly about signings, especially costly ones, and just bury their head in the sand, thinking they are brilliant.
I told you guys about NATO (No Acton Talk Only)
ReplyDeleteWhy this crap when the transfer season is over and won't open until after Europe...
ReplyDeleteBlame Dalglish he bought the DROSS
ReplyDeleteits funny all the shit kenny dalglish has bought seems to have made a cup final ,knocked man united out the cup and with a bit of luck coming our way for wich we truly deserve through some of our good football im sure well climb the ladder ,so be a supporter of your club sick of hearing this player is worth this much its over and done with cant change the fact of what we played for the players so lets get of their back and support them and im sure they will come good ynwa
ReplyDeleteDalgish made so many bad signings - can't for the life of me see why he bothered spending nothing on Bellamy and also £7 million on Enrique? don't seemed to have worked out at all?
ReplyDeleteand we have also Johnson who needs 20 changes to get one good cross... also kuyt and enrique are hopeless
ReplyDeleteI think you mean supporters ... muppet
ReplyDeleteNo, they meant fans ... which makes them muppets (plural).
ReplyDeleteLorente requires delivery, much like Carol. We just don't have the class needed on the wings to supply what he and Carol need. We need pacey, skilful, pass-and-move players who can create chances for themselves and others...just a tad more clinical than the current crop would be nice. Pace is a must though - with the vision of Gerard and Suarez, Adam on his day, someone who can run through on goal like all our best strikers (Owen, Fowler, Rush, Torres, not-so-nippy-but 'astute' Dalglish) would be great. With CL qualification, buy world class. Cavani? Higuain?
ReplyDeletethats what i was thinking ... now all we need to do is sign him and the 2 wingers who supplied him all the crosses
ReplyDeletei keep reading daliglish buys crap here buys crap there but it was us fans that hounded hodgson out of the job at lfc maybe we should not have turned on roy so fast. nar roy was shit and are players are just as inconsistant as the rest of the premierleague baring man city
ReplyDeleteYou read my mind.
ReplyDeleteKuyt and Enrique hopeless ?
ReplyDeleteWhich team have you been watching lately ?
Enrique is currently third in the Liverpoolfc.tv Man of the Match table for 2011-12 behind Luis Suarez and Craig Bellamy.
ReplyDeleteyou can't even spell you dumb F**k
ReplyDeletewe need a midfielder who has an appetite of passing the ball, currently we have midfielders who are generally average except Gerrard. If a midfielder can pass a through ball on the ground and about 40yards,then,thats class.Sometimes the balls we play to Carroll or Suarez are not so good and I even think Suarez's passes are better than those of our midfielders. If we do not buy players of Suarez's class,he might consider Anfield a fail at some point. Our wingers are not as quick and hungry like those of Man-U.
ReplyDeleteOur full back is the biggest problem for our crossing issues? I think you need to look further up the pitch mate...
ReplyDeletethis guy is the only one saying we are interested. why does he bring it up if hes not going to come? this is two windows that once it ends he says oh liverpool wanted me i may go there one day.
ReplyDeletei guess in a few years we will sign him its been awhile since morientes was here so he could be the next one.
