SIGN HIM! Liverpool transfer target confirms that he IS up for grabs...

Let's forget the Bolton horror show for a while and focus on some potentially good news - Algerian attacking midfielder Ryad Boudebouz has confirmed once again that he wants to leave Sochaux, which could be good news for Liverpool, who arguably need to sign another goal-scoring attacking midfielder.

In June 2011, Boudebouz confirmed to L'Est Républicain that Liverpool had enquired about his services:

"Liverpool are a big club and there has been contact, But I have to take my time, see the [Sochaux] president, discuss things through".

Now, Boudebouz has revealed that he's met with the Souchauz President, and made his future intentions clear. He told L'Equipe:

"I told President [Alexander] Lacombe that I would go to another club in June.

"At Sochaux, I have made good progress, but I want to play at a higher level, preferably in ligue 1, playing in the Champions League"

Sochaux are currently 19th in France's ligue 1, so the chances of finishing in a Champions League spot look wildly improbable at the moment.

As he states, Boudebouz would prefer to stay in France, but if Liverpool come calling again, it could be an irrestible proposition for the player. Of course, this all depends on whether Liverpool make it into next season's Champions League.

if Boudebouz is definitely leaving, then perhaps Liverpool could explore look into negotiating some kinf of pre-contract agreement with the player...

  1. Saw him play in France...looks like Nasry on pro-plus. Very skillfull, creative no10 and he can string a few passes too. Highly rated by french media. However, his size might be an issue..would he adapt to the english game?

  2. All these player that wan't CL football !!!!!! don't you think they should earn it first by helping their team to get to CL and not just walk in to a top side .They make me sick getting paid ridiculous amounts of money week in and week out  and half the time they don't give a dam .

  3. I've seen this guy on a number of Youtube videos. Now normally Youtube overenhances the qualities of players, but with Boudebouz it is clear to me he is not of sufficient quality for us. He has little pace and, if you look at the game with England in the 2010 World Cup, he looks like a Championship player in comparison with England's midfielders... and that is when England played garbage!

We need to be cleverer in the market than this. I would go for Sinclair from Swansea. Not sure what striker I would go for but we need to stick to our principles. He needs to be young, have pace, be strong, etc. Therefore, a Darren Bent should not even be thought about!

  4. If we have been offered Krasic wouldn't that be a start even if it is only on loan for the rest of the season.

  5. Liverpool are a 'big' club says this no mark? I'm afraid Liverpool is a HUGE club son, and far out of your league.

We have enough no marks like Carroll, Downing and Adam.

  6. Mario Gomez ! Jesus will someone point out to kk this man is our saviour

  7. Kenny wanted him before Carroll but Bayern wouldn't sell.

  8. Trouble is playing for Liverpool is a big ask mentally and Carroll, Downing and Henderson are not up to it. Adam has the balls but he's completely useless. Dalglish was entrusted with the money we got from the owners and by selling one of the 2 top class players we had. He managed to waste every penny bar the 6m he spent on Enrique. Martin O'Neill was out of a job a month ago and whilst I don't like him in many ways he is probably 20 times the manager Dalglish is. Lets be honest, the only reason anyone is giving Dalglish any support is because of who he is. We have been an absolute disgrace for most of this season and we are actually getting worst I don't think I've ever seen a more useless waste  of Oxygen than Carroll, Downing aside, and on top of that his handling of the Suarez affair has made us look like idiots. I have no idea what he is being paid but if it's more than 10k a year we are being ripped off.

  9. too slow and very injury prone

  10. I know he would be a great asset tho

  11. & Henderson...so clueless during the game

  12. Have we actually got any wingers ? Yes Andy Carroll has been poor but he needs ball wiped in at pace high or low ! And as for Gomez having no pace who cares we need someone in the box to put the ball in the net ?

  13. If I owned the club i would not let these guys sign any players until they show that they can coach the players that we currently have. They are underachieving with what we have so why should they be given funds to poorly prepare another set of players? We can't just keep saying that players are not good enough every time we find ourselves in 7th place. The keeper and defence pick themselves. Maybe Kelly in for Johnson. While Suarez is out, we need to perservere with Carroll and have 5 playing in midfield, Gerrard central, and Maxi just off Carroll, Johnson right, Bellamy left, Spearing alongside Gerrard. Adam and Henderson have to go on the bench, with Downing. Coates, Sterling and Morgan on the bench also. The youngsters need to start getting bench time.

  14. agreed, these players are going to cost kenny his job.they are a let down quite simply.babbel over downing all day. aqua and mierles over henderson and adams anyday. and maybe ngog! over carroll.
heck...........id have poulsen over adams...................im really depressed!
there is only one person for me who could get some top players in with some money and thats raffa. but hope kenny has till the end of season at least.
4th aint happening. were a laughing stock at the moment.
suerez cant get back quick enough, were very ordinary and predictable

  15. Star striker for Bayern. Like Spurs and Lyon, they make it very hard for teams to buy their top players and ensure they get a very very high price for them

We may have had a slim chance before but we got none now, Gomez has been brilliant for them this season.

Would love to have had one of Falcao (dynamite against Sociedad yesterday), Gomez or Cavani as they are some of the better centre forwards in world football these days but that boat has sailed and we already bought someone in, Carroll.

Krasic would be a good signing. Diving aside, he is a very good wide player.

Surprised we aren't in for Honda.

  16. I think the guy was referring to Krasic (though he isn't slow, in my view), if you look at the way his post is formatted more to the left.

  17. Blah blah blah blah...Simple truth is the players that were bought by those two idiots in Daglish and Comolli are simply not good enough. Even allowing for the non availability of a defensive midfielder we should have had the talent to account for Bolton. Problem is we didnt even put up a fight let alone win. The issue of a defensive midfeilder is just an excuse in my eyes. We were completely outplayed in all areas of the park. The players that were brought in are simply not good enough and in fact are a downgrade over the ones that were shipped out during the summer. The only players i can honestly think of that were worth replacing over the current flops that were brought in were Konchesky and Poulson. Basically we have thrown the transfer kitty down the toilet and are now in a worse position than where we were at the end of last season. Forget about 4th position we will be lucky just to make it in the Europa League. How far have we fallen .... I honestly cant see Daglish lasting beyond the end of this season ...as much as I hate to say it the game has truly passed him by.

  18. Gomez was linked under Roy and Bayern were willing to sell but not loan him but we had no money because of our previous owners.

  19. Mate, he was 19-20 against England. He was nowhere near the same player 2 years ago as he is now. He is a leading Ligue 1 winger while his team sits in second to last. Has second most dribbles (second to hazard) just as many key passes as Hazard (mind you that would also make boudebouz's assists much higher if his strikers could finish)

While I agree sinclair is a great signing as well. Boudebouz's skill will outclass Sinclair in the long run. If you get Boudebouz, and train him right... you're not getting some winger. You'll be getting the next Mr. X.

  20. Umm, I've seen a lot of his videos and games. And what he lacks in size he makes up for in skill. So he can out fox most big players. Also, he has a very flexible and elastic body. He pretty much goes with tackles and not against them so he rarely (in fact I don't think i've ever seen him get injured via tackle) gets injured.

  21. It really doesn't matter who we sign - he will be a major flop. When players come to Liverpool they lose about 30% of their talent. Obviously something about the club is rotten. Liverpool fans consistently overrate their players and then cannot understand why the results are dire. With the likes of Adam, Henderson, Carroll etc on the field, are the results likely to be great? As for KD, I'm afraid he's just making a fool of himself and should take himself off. My own wish is that they continue to get stuffed every time KD insults the fans by picking Carroll, a Sunday league footballer who doesn't even have the talent of N'gog.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Persevere with Carroll? Can you really not see that he is absolutely useless? He isn't even as good as N'gog. The man is hopeless, why persevere with him?  Send him off to Geordieland with a six-pack.But you're right about Adam and Henderson on the bench. My God, our team is dross!

    ReplyDelete
  23. You couldn't be more right. Henderson escapes criticism but he's absolute rubbish.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Sadly, you are absolutely right. Nice to see Liverpool fans waking up to reality and not living in cloud cuckoo land. I would add that even Enrique is very ordinary.

  26. Norwich will finish the season ahead of Liverpool.

  27. KD and his backroom have been taking the nfans for mugs, we have been fed excuse after excuse, last time was the finishing, this time it is the club's principles? C'mon Kenny step down and lets get someone in to help us push for 4th with 16 games to go.  Put your dross on the bench bring back Maxi, Kuyt, Flanno, Kelly, Spearo, and most of all the 'acclaimed' junior talent that we have accumulated in the reserves and juniors.  I bet it is now clear to many of us that KD has failed, lets see him beyond the great player he was for us, his results suck!  I believe that he has always tried to justify his spending but also upsetting good servants like Kuyt, Maxi, Flanno e.t.c who managed to bring some pride to the Reds on many occassions.  KD IS PAST IT, BEST BEFORE DATE SHOULD BE THE END OF THE SEASON.....no more excuses Kenny you PICK THE TEAM.

  28. As a swans and Liverpool fan I can tell you Sinclair in not good enough for Liverpool ,I watch him week in week out , he's only in the game in drubs and drabs , if a big club offered 10m for him , I'm sure swans would sell him , scores a lot of goals all pens, descent when he tries but all to often he goes missing

  29. People complained about Benitezes spending yet when he spent big on players they were generally a success i am sure the names Carroll and Downing would not be gracing Anfield had he been kept.
Maybe Mata and Soldado with change left over but it is not to be and although Henderson is currently snot he is one who i think could still develop into a star.
All in all i doubt any major signing will occur as the top 4 chances are zilch its going to be looking to next season and the way kenny has spent Henry would be mad to give him a nickel.

    ReplyDelete
  30. He played 33 league games last season and 41 games altogether he his quick so not quite sure where you are getting that from just isn't suited to Italian football he likes to run with the ball more suited to the Premier League.

  31. If Ryad Boudebouz is serious about wanting to play at a higher level, then Anfield should never be his port of call.

  32. liverpool have not had a creative midfielder in the last 10 years that is in
the mould of steve mac...., i cant believe that we did'nt replace him.
Year in and year out all liverpool fans wait for the transfer window and get exited for nothing. all  we hear are rumours about signing the best players but all we end up getting is rejects. Except for gerrard, saurez and bellamy, there is no sense of imagination in the side. How can u unlock a stubborn defence without that. I was bafffled when we were after downing and henderson, they will never be what we need, I just dont see us returning to the glory days of the 70's & 80's in the near future, cause we have people like carroll & all the other rejects on long contracts. We need to play with pace, width & flair & not give the opposition teams space to breathe. I cant understand what it is, do we have poor scouts, people with ego's or poor management at the top. My question is when are we going start signing people who are worthy of putting on the liverpool jersey

  33. Unfortunately Dalglish's mindset is stuck in an 80's- 90's timewarp. There were stiil players around then who really wanted to play for a particular club, but over the last decades this desire has been replaced by grasping agents and greedy players who are only interested in the money. The player tells his agent to find him a club that will pay him the most and then goes through the sickening ritual of filling in the blanks later, e.g. 'I've supported this team all my life, or this is a dream come true or I couldn't wait to sign once I knew they wanted me'. Cobblers ! Right now we have a team of overpriced, overpaid and under performing mediocre players.Sadly we need a wholesale clearout and start building around the three or four dependable and honest players that we still have. Dalglish needs to take off the blinkers and admit that his collection of blue-eyes are not up to it !

  34. By what measurement could Martin O'Neill possibly be described as twenty times the manager Kenny dalglish is???? What a ridiculous comment and how typical of modern day 'fans'! Just to clarify for the uneducated here, out of the two managers in question only one of them has won a league title, and that is dalglish, more than once. Please engage your brains before you speak.

  35. In that case, we sell him for 5 million or something and then sign our next useless striker. He was not useless last season. Not worth 35 million but not useless, either. Our coaching set up is not getting the best out of these players. Until they do, whoever we sign will not be good enough. We have a team that should not be behind Arsenal and Newcastle in the league. It's no good us just saying certain players are useless because they are definitely better than what Arsenal and Newcastle have. So if we are 7th, the coaching staff have to take responsibility.

  36. Strange how N'gog is better than Carroll now that he does not play for us. N'gog was not considered better than anyone when he was here. Same with Ryan Babel, now people are saying that he was better than Downing. If that is true, then our coaches are making players worse. Our signings may not be the best, but losing like we did on Saturday suggests that it is not just poor signings which is the problem. With the players we have, good signings or not, we should be at least 5th. So there are other factors at work here.
