Sessegnon to Liverpool? Yet another FAKE transfer rumour, and here's why...

I hate fake transfer rumours. What I hate the most is how certain sites just brazenly and unashamedly lie and make up transfer 'stories' with the sole intention of conning people into reading them. Take today's daily transfer lie, for example: Sunderland's Stéphane Sessègnon.

According to one London-based 'newspaper' Liverpool 'have joined Paris Saint-Germain and Marseille in the hunt' for Sessègnon.

No sources, no quotes and absolutely no credible evidence whatsoever. We do, however, have this quote from Sunderland manager Martin O'Neill:

"There's a problem but it hasn't seemed to affect Stéphane on the field. It's not easy for these players in these situations but it hasn't disrupted him since I've been here – he hasn't come to me and said he has a major problem. Stéphane's got great ability and we'd love him to settle here and make this his home."

Obviously, someone has seen this quote and then manufactured the Liverpool story. It's easy to see the moronic though-process:

* Unsettled midfielder in the North-East
* Liverpool is in that general geographical area
* Lucas is injured, so Liverpool must need a midifelder

= Fake Liverpool interest.

Sessègnon's family is still in France, which suggests that the player is having trouble settling in England. If that's the case, why would he the move to another club in England?

Now just wait: we'll see a whole raft of other sites that peddle fake transfer stories reposting this rumour. Look out for headlines like:

* Liverpool 'join the race' for 15m midfield star

* Kenny Dalglish 'in the hunt' for unsettled midfield maestro

How I hate fake transfer rumours.

  2. Even if its a fake rumour but still he is someone who can improve quality of Liverpool midfield, though i would prefer Liverpool to sign Junior Hoilett who is young and will also be cheap with only 6 months left on his contract.
