Last month, Pepe Reina expressed the view that Andy Carroll was Liverpool's 'worst trainer', saying that 'he doesn't run too many yards'. Well, according to Daniel Agger, another one of the club's forwards is also pretty lazy on the training ground, and you'll probably be surprised about who it is.
In an interview with LFC TV, Agger - who is in the midst of the best form of his Liverpool career - revealed:
"He [Luis Suarez] is a bit lazy [in training], but as long as he gives everything in the games, that's fair enough.
Suarez lazy in training? The Uruguayan is the last person I'd expect to be a shirker, but as Agger says, as long as he puts in 100% on the pitch - which he does - then it's arguably not a problem.
Training aside, Agger had nothing but good things to say about Suarez, but he acknowledged the the striker has to score more goals:
"He [Suarez] has almost been here a year now, and he can turn into a really good player if he continues his form; scoring some more goals hopefully.
"He's a strange player in one way because I can't find anyone that plays like him.
"He's just there all the time, always on your toes, and he's so difficult to play against. I've only marked him in training but he's so difficult"
Agger was also in no doubt about what Suarez can achieve in the future:
"I think he will go on to be the world's best"
Whether he'll achieve that lofty status at Liverpool remains to be seen.

ReplyDeletethe world's best....wow
ReplyDeleteSeems this blog has nothing to talk about last night's result.
ReplyDeleteWhat happens in training are closed door matters and not to make it public. You should declare war on England FA, rotten to the core.
ReplyDeleteIt was surprised at what agger said as well and like he said if he gives it everything in games thats fair enough.......What really made me laugh though was the comment that pepe reina made that "carra didn't like it when he fists him and prefers a high five instead".....Smutty innuendo on my part there just my sometimes warped sense of humour I guess.
