Liverpool-loving ARSENAL LEGEND on his way to Merseyside?

Arsenal unveiled a statue of record goalscorer Thierry Henry at the Emirates on Saturday, and according to reports, the striker could be on his way to Merseyside very soon.

According to the The Daily Express:

"Henry...was offered the chance to move to Merseyside until March by Everton manager David Moyes after his side’s 1-0 defeat".

Moyes himself confirmed this:

"I already asked him [Henry] on the way in. I asked him, he’ll tell you; if he wants a game let me know. I’m hoping we might be able to do something"

I doubt that a move to Everton would be appealing to Henry, but his affection for Liverpool is well known. so perhaps Kenny Dalglish should cut in and offer Henry a short-term deal instead?

Henry has revealed his love for Liverpool on many occasions:

"I would have loved to play with Steven Gerrard and I like the club and their fans.

"There is something about Anfield you can’t explain. I love it when you step out of the dressing room and see The Kop, the scarves, and [hear people] singing, ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone.’ That would do it for me".

Henry is not the player he used to be but I would take him in a heartbeat. It would be great to have one the Premier League's greatest every players at Anfield.

  1. Interesting comment from Henry 'after the statue unveilling'.
He used those exact words in 2007 too. Uncanny.

  3. would be a good option to have on the bench.
my favourite non lfc player in the premier league until he ruined it all with his cheating antics for france against ireland.still a better than option than carroll in all probability.

  4. Henry made those comments in a TV interview at the unveiling. He's praised Liverpool many times in the past. If you've got nothing better to do than snipe then don't bother commenting at all.

  5. Feel free to include a link to show the source. I'm not for a second saying he didn't say it last week; I just find it odd that the exact words were used again.

  6. So you want LFC to sign another CHEAT? What a hypocrite!!

  7. Are we seeing a mirage here?

  8. Colin in right. Those are definitely old comments that i have read in the past, word for word. It even says in the Daily Express article, "He once said:" . That is not a phrase used for something that has just been said.

  9. oh; you deleted my reply I see. Why did you block me? I asked a genuine question, and did so politely.
It's not my intention to publicly highlight you as a fraud. That quote is from 2007. You should merely acknowledge it as an oversight.. otherwise people may doubt you.

  11.  I would rather us sign another striker on a permanant deal in Jan. Rumours linking us to Robert Lewandowski who is currently playing in Dortmund, this would be my preferred option as we trying to build a side for the future rather than using stop gaps.

  12. Stop gaps in January are fantastic, and none come better than Henry! Permanent deals would be more sensible to make in the summer when contracts expire, run down a season and players are generally cheaper to sign. Charlie Adam was at least 2m cheaper in June. I'd be happy to see Henry play alongside Suarez for half a season! Would be magnificent.

  13. But he's a CHEAT. Big as they come.

  14. Why would he talk about his affection for Liverpool at the statue unveiling at the Emirates?? sounds a bit disrespectful towards Arsenal, imho...  if you have a source where we can read or hear that he said those words recently, please give us a link. Otherwise, it is nothing else than a speculation.

  15. if you are referring to the use of a hand to gain an illegal advantage in a World Cup ... whats the difference between a qualifier and a quarter final?

By your logic we should not sign him as he is a big cheat, but we then also rely on another cheat every other weak and celebrate his goals.

  16. I read this before about Henry, he did confirm if there was one club he would have loved to play for was LFC, especially at Anfield. It is not a made up story. LFC signing him for the remainder of the season would not be a bad idea.

  17. No thanks. He is well pasted the Henry we all know. His MLS performances are lazy, slow, and like a kick around in a park.

  18. Guys I know some of you are saying he is a cheat, well fair play you are entitled to your opinion.  But then what about our own beloved Luis Suarez?

  19. Lol, in all of his career Henry cheated blatantly once and some people on here are taking the higher ground. Is diving cheating? Surely it is and a lot of our players do it at least once a season. Also, I happen to think Suarez took one for the team, is it really that different from the last defender hauling a striker down who would be one on one? Not at all. Also when Henchoz deliberately used his hand in the FA Cup final v Arsenal to stop a definite goal was that cheating? Or is it ok because it wasn't for France?

  20. Even as a Irish man I'd have to agree with madness on this one, sorry jj.. But as far a rumour goes this is complete bullshit

  21. You need to clear this up with Jamie K.

  22. So is Suarez! I'm a Ghanaian Liverpool fan, and I've forgiven Suarez. Sort of! YNWA

  23. Not often I agree with you JK - but I would take him in a heartbeat! I can see him doing a job like Henrik Larrsson did at the scum a few years back.
