Anfield Update: 'Unbelievable' £40m attacker wanted by Klopp confirms transfer 'to Liverpool' is a non-starter

One of Liverpool's top transfer targets has revealed his 'respect' for Jurgen Klopp, and clarified his position on a potential move to Anfield.

Liverpool have been regularly linked with a move for Pulisic over the last year, and although he signed a new contract in January, the Liverpool Echo recently claimed that Klopp still plans to pursue the 'unbelievable' attacker.

When asked this week about his decision to reject Liverpool last summer, £40m-rated Pulisic noted:

"I have respect for Klopp and I know him - he was very welcoming to me here - but I was never really thinking about going to Liverpool"

Pulisic also made it clear he has no plans to leave anytime soon:

"Dortmund have given me everything. If I work very hard here I will play, and I love this club.”

This deal was always a non-starter - bar the obvious (money) there's simply no credible reason for Pulisic to leave a progressive, well-run Champions League club like Dortmund, especially when he gets regular game time in one of Europe's top leagues (26 appearances so far this season).

What can Liverpool offer Pulisic that Dortmund can't? Sadly, the answer is nothing. Even the fabled LFC atmosphere is (arguably) matched by BVB's rabid fans, and the Westfalonstadion is just as much of a cauldron of noise as Anfield.

Pulisic is not the only show in town, and it's surely time to permanently draw a line through this particular transfer rumour...
