Klopp to Sign? Liverpool reps fly out to watch 'impressive' €20m powerhouse who wants to 'play for' LFC's rivals

Liverpool are reportedly considering a January move for one of Serie A's most coveted young players.

According to Calciomercato:

* Liverpool are keen to sign 19-year old Atalanta midfielder Franck Kessie.

* Jurgen Klopp has sent scouts to watch Kessie 'extensively' this season.

* Man United, Juve, Manchester City, Napoli, Sevilla, Roma, Monaco and Chelsea are also interested.

Some info about €20m-rated Kessie, who is (lazily) nicknamed the 'New Yaya Toure':

* Defensive/holding midfielder, who can also play as a center-back. Contract expires: 2021

* Atalanta/Cesena: 14 goals/assists in 56 apps (One every 314 mins).

* Scouting Report (Strengths): "Can play in various positions. Good positioning, speed, stamina, power and technique. Excellent movement around the box".

* Aug 2016: Kessie admitted: "I was close to joining Sunderland, but I preferred Serie A to the Premier League because in Italy it's possible to learn tactics".

* Oct 2016: Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini's assessment: "Technically, he [Kessie] has a good foundation and an impressive physical dominance. He can play one day at a big club".

* On his football role models: "My idols are Yaya Toure and [Michael] Essien. I was told that I have to work very hard to reach a big level".

Unfortunately for Liverpool, Kessie appears to have his heart set on playing for the Reds' biggest rivals:

"I'd like to play for Manchester United. I don't know if [Jose] Mourinho will be there, but Manchester United has always been my favourite team."

A wannabe Manc at Anfield? No thanks.
