Carra warns: Klopp doesn't rate 'brilliant' £30m Liverpool star and he'll dump him 'when everyone's fit'

Does Jurgen Klopp rate Daniel Sturridge? Reds legend Jamie Carragher doesn't think so, and he has predicted that 'brilliant' Sturridge will go the same way as Balotelli and Benteke.

When asked on Friday if £30m-rated Sturridge will feature in Klopp's long-term plans, Carra warned:

“Possibly not. When Klopp picks his best team, I don’t think Sturridge is in it. When everyone’s fit and firing, I don’t think he quite gets in the eleven".

In my view, it's glaringly obvious that Klopp doesn't rate Sturridge, and it's basically the Christian Benteke situation all over again. Last season, for example:

Some in-denial Liverpool fans won't see it, but Klopp is slowly freezing Sturridge out for the same reason he jettisoned Benteke: he doesn't fit Klopp's high intensity gegenpressing style.

Firmino fits the counter-pressing style to a tee, which is the primary reason he'll start more game league games than Sturridge this season.

Klopp deserves credit for managing Sturridge's fitness effectively, but as soon as he signs his own striker, Sturridge will be consigned to the Liverpool scrapheap.
