Klopp to sign? Liverpool now ready to pay €18m for 'powerful' record-breaking attacker.

Earlier this week, German newspaper Bild claimed that Liverpool are interested in signing Hoffenheim star Kevin Volland, and new reports suggest that the Reds are willing spend a pretty penny to sign the 'powerful' attacker.

According to Sportbild today:

* Liverpool remain interested in Volland, and have scouted him many times over the last several years.

* Volland has an €18m release clause in his contract, and the Reds are allegedly willing to pay that fee.

Some info about 23-year old Volland, whose current contract expires in 2019.

* Left-footed right-winger, who can also play as a striker/secondary striker.

* Hoffenheim: Winger (64% of games). Striker (36% of games).

* 35 goals/37 assists (72) in 137 apps (Goal every 327 mins. G/A every 159 mins).

* This season: 7 goals/8 assists in 27 apps (Goal every 316 mins. G/A every 150 mins)

* Aug 2015: Broke the record for scoring the fastest goal in Bundesliga history (After 8 seconds vs. Bayern Munich)

* May 2014: On his role models: "He [Klose] is a huge role model for me. I can learn a lot from him. He tells me what I can and must do better. He helps me hugely. Miro is just a super guy.”

* Oct 2014: On his understanding with Firmino: "I always exchange positions with Roberto Firmino. We can move closer together, but are also wide. We can go wide or deep. The most important thing is to intuitively make the right decision".

The understanding with Firmino is an attractive proposition, but like so many other attackers linked with Liverpool, Volland just isn't prolific enough.

That said, he is only 23, and he's missed only 2 games through injury for his entire career, which is a massive positive. As such, if Volland retains his fitness levels, he can (in theory) only improve under Jurgen Klopp.
