Yes Please: 93% of Liverpool fans want Klopp to sign 'incredible' £37m attacker

Speculation linking Liverpool with a move for Bayern Munich star Mario Gotze has intensified this month, but what do Reds fans think about the possibility of signing the regularly injured £37m-rated striker?

Liverpool have been continually linked with Bayern Munich's 'miracle boy' over the last six months, and in a recent interview, Gotze admitted:

"We [he and Klopp] text now and again. He was my coach at BVB.

"It [a move away] hinges on many factors. Everything else will show in the future”

In a new development this week, Germany team-mate Thomas Muller confirmed that Gotze is 'not satisfied' at Bayern, and hinted that a move away may be on the cards. He told reporters:

“I’ve talked to Mario...and as far as him signing for another club is concerned...you never know in this world".

Last week, I conducted a site poll asking fans if Liverpool should attempt to sign Gotze. The results are emphatic:

With Daniel Sturridge currently linked with a £50m move to Paris St. Germain, and West Ham inexplicably willing to spend £40m on Christian Benteke, there may potentially be money to spend on a marquee signing this summer, and it looks like Gotze - described on Wednesday by Joachim Low as a player with 'incredible skills' - is the fans' preferred choice.

In my view, Liverpool should steer clear. Gotze's injury history is a massive concern, and this season alone, he's spent 138 days out injured, and missed 21 games. Additionally, over the years, the majority of his injuries have been muscular, and that will probably continue under Klopp's intensive regime at Liverpool (which has already spawned 15+ muscle injuries since October 2015)
