Bad News: Klopp confirms 'outstanding' £12m Liverpool star 'is injured'; admits 'problem' with player availability

Liverpool's injury crisis is back with a vengeance! Just when it seemed to be improving, the players are dropping like flies yet again, with 'outstanding' Reds defender Martin Skrtel the latest player facing an enforced spell on the sidelines.

£12m-rated Skrtel went off injured during Liverpool's 3-0 humbling against Watford, and after the game, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp confirmed:

"Skrtel is injured, that is a problem [and] I don’t know who will come back. Nobody had a rest, now we have to look who is available for Boxing Day".

As I've proven with objective facts time and time again, Skrtel is Liverpool's most effective defender over the last four years, and his loss is a blow for the team.

With Lovren and Skrtel out, that leaves Sakho and Toure as the only senior centre-halves available, and that is not a combination that inspires any confidence whatsoever.

Skrtel was partially at fault for Watford's second goal today (he pushed Ighalo wide, but didn't make an attempt to block the shot), but he still delivered an effective performance overall.

The same cannot be said of Mamadou Sakho, who had (arguably) his worst game in a Liverpool shirt.

It truly was a horrendously shaky performance, and for all the criticism Skrtel receives, he has *never* (in my experience) delivered such a poor error-strewn performance, but that's another article.

League-leaders Leicester City are up next. Sakho/Toure in defence + Leicester's unstoppable form + Liverpool's suspect home form + Lallana's perennial failure in attack = big problems for LFC.
