AGENT confirms 'English interest' in alleged Liverpool transfer target...

Liverpool have been heavily linked with Bologna playmaker Gaston Ramirez over the last few weeks, and the Uruguayan's agent has now confirmed that English clubs are interested, and that the player will be available for a move in the January transfer window.

Speaking to CalcioMercato.com, Ramirez's agent Pablo Betancourt confirmed that it would cost £15m to sign the player, and added:

"I have the exclusive mandate to sell the player abroad but I've had no official requests.

"I know that there is interest in England but there have been no meetings with any clubs yet.

"The player is in great demand in Italy, especially by Juventus, with whom I have already spoken during the last transfer window".

When asked if Ramirez could move in January, Betancourt responded:

"If the right offer came in, of course, but let's see if we can arrange a meeting directly between clubs first".

Ramirez only signed a new contract in the summer, so if he forces through a move, it doesn't say much about his loyalty to his club. Yes, I know that's par for the course in modern football, but it's still a little concerning.

  3. Johnson & Cahill in our defence next to each other would only spell two words...

  4. We can only dream of such players. How they play is another matter, like our match now with QPR, 71 % possession but no goals.
