STEVE CLARKE admits: "Pepe knows he made a mistake..."

It doesn't happen often, but when Pepe Reina makes a mistake, it usually ends in an opposition goal, and his howler at Craven Cottage on Monday night unfortunately handed Fulham victory, and ended Liverpool's 11 game unbeaten run.

Liverpool now have to pick themselves up, and according to Assistant Manager Steve Clarke, Reina's confidence won't be affected.

Speaking to LFC TV, Clarke was keen to point out that Reina has been dealing with the mistake in the right way, and backed the Spaniard to bounce back:

"As you would expect, he comes out in training and he works hard. Pepe's qualities are there for everybody to see.

"He made a mistake, he knows he made a mistake and the top goalkeepers, the reason they're at the top of their profession is because they know how to deal with their mistakes and Pepe is no different to that".

Only three goalkeepers have kept more clean sheets in the league than Reina this season.

  1. A challenge for you: when was the last time you saw reina saving a penalty in a open game?

  4. Johnson should shoulder the blame too for that goal.

Kelly deserves to be back in the starting eleven. What did he do wrong to lose his place when Johnson returned from injury and why the hell still won't we just try out Johnson on the RW? His suspect defending will cost us more points as the season goes on.

  8. How could a goalkeeper be a captain? Want to emulate Dino Zoff and Iker Casillas? His concentration is not there being captain cos he's thinking what next to shout to team mates.
